- Tesla stock falls to it's lowest in years, and I'm buying. Here's my rant on everything from the recent layoffs, Elon's motivation & pay package, to the Robotaxi launch on 8/8, Cybertruck progress, Austin factory expansion, FSD taking over & so much more!! I even read my Ode to Austin & Cybertruck Poem lol. Let me know what you think in the comments below!!

As a long term investor I do have some let’s say concerns
1. We were promised on battery day years ago massive production Tesla has failed to meet 1% of its target
2. We were promised on AI day DOJO .. yes Tesla is hitting is compute size but only by buying at enormous cost Nvidia chips, rather than producing our own.
3. By saying FSD in the next year for YEARS Elon hardly makes me trust his judgment in this YES I do think it’s different this time BUT that’s on what I see not what he says
4. I have read his biography and what he says and he DID attempt to build the model 3 without pedals as a Robotaxi, now he was convinced otherwise eventually but again it hardly makes his Judgement infallible, well he is doing the same with the compact, perhaps he is right but objectively it’s not a certainty is it.
For reference I am bullish and hold 1200 shares which for a working Joe is a LOT of dough, but I try to avoid confirmation bias and above does worry me on future execution..Tesla can still fail like DOJO and Batteries so when others criticise Tesla remember the broken promises they are thinking about
Nobody really believed Tesla could nail 4860 battery that quickly. It was just not realistic to crack a new chemistry AND an new revolutionary mass manufacturing scheme.

FSD, yes Elon lost credibility long time ago. FSD still today far away in error rate from true unsupervised autonomy.
@@Martinit0 Tesla sold that idea and I have been invested years so I know you are wrong many bought they would.
DOJO is not a `sideshow` firstly it was saving billions, secondly it was a demo of what we say we can do, they didn't its not good.
FSD `far` away, define `far` ,, you can`t measure time i.e it took say 10 years to get here so 10 years more .. its the speed of progress that counts that might mean 5 years or 5 months depending on speed, same as a car traveling 120 MPH for five months with get to the same place as another car doing 10MPH for five years ... and we don't know the progress speed as version 12 is NN and we don't know what progress looks like as its never been done before.

What is Elon's rate of tweets per day by topic? How many on Tesla? How many on SpaceX? How many on politics?
That tells you what Elon thinks is important.
Would be valuable if someone plotted that as function of time.

It’s hard for me to comment on the balls to the wall Robotaxi push because I don’t have a good understanding of how close, in time, Tesla is to making Robotaxis work. I see rapid progress with the V12 variants. Will the progress accelerate towards near perfection? Or will some local minimum unexpectedly hang up the progress? It’s impossible to say because it’s never been done before.

If anyone is going to crack robotaxi with the current technology then it's Tesla. The problem is that it might not be possible with the current technology. Having said that, FSD supervised does appear to be able to drive to some extent and so you can't dismiss the robotaxi thesis as purely theoretical.
It depends on the definition of "robotaxi". If robotaxi = fully autonomous car that does not need outside intervention and has 1/10 of human accident rate then my guess it's years away (current critical disengagement rate is 1000x too high still).
If robotaxi = same as above but we have remote intervention from a Tesla team (like Waymo) then they could likely launch within 12 months in limited US geography.
It doesn't require a new car platform though. Tesla could launch a robotaxi service on Model Y basis easily. With smaller car it will be more profitable obviously, but launch later.

Elon made 100,000,000,000 (one hundred billion) while he assended through the pay tranches. I dont think he needs an extra 50,000,000,000 (50 billion). He said that when he bought twitter he said he doesnt care about money.

Tesla should give $50,000,000,000 out to shareholders as a one time dividend. Elon would get 10 billion and shareholders would get the extra 40,000 ,000,000 . Think of how good that would be for the economy!

Yes, it is hard to "zoom out", as he said. I often remind myself that this whole revolution started with Elon's Roadster. Now we have electric cars, we have bots, we have Starlink, we have Starship, we have Neuralink, etc., etc.

It’s encouraging to see FSD progress. I just wish the auto business was still growing. That makes me nervous.
It makes me nervous too that they are unable to stimulate demand when EV penetration is just 8 percent! They don’t seem to understand marketing, how consumers relate with their category, that advertising is a more positive and effective way of stimulating demand in a masstige category like cars or smartphones than price cuts which only debase the brand, that even the best-in-class products need communication and so on. Their engineering and innovation mindset ends up emphasising the functional/ rational aspects and ignoring the potential of psychological and intangible values. It worries me that they will continue to sub-optimise their potential if they don’t learn to market their products. They have a lot to learn from the likes of Apple. Do they have the wisdom and humility to do that?
The fact that the auto business is falling is proving EVs are the future, plus that robo taxi has a lot of room to grow without a ton of resistance.

I can't believe we still get a serious run of negative sentiment on this company at least once a year. It's like Christmas every time it happens. Loving this, just like late 2022, just like mid 22, just like mid 21, just like early 20, all of 2019, most of 2018, etc etc. The selling lemmings absolutely make my day.

It's nice to see the old Gali back in action.
It does seem like we're back in 2018 - 2019 again. When you paused content creation things had gotten a little boring, sameo-sameo.
But not anymore. The mainstream isn't getting it again. Your evangelizing for Tesla again is right on point.
We may see one to two years where the financials aren't really moving the needle for Tesla stock. But, by and by the technologies and projects will push the company to entirely new levels. Much like with the launch of the M3, mainstream watchers are skeptical and aren't envisioning what's to come.
Personally, I messed up last spring and ended up cover-calling my way out of Tesla stock in Aug. I missed out on the big run-up last year. I've been patiently waiting for something like this to come along. I will be able to get back in at a profit this next year, yippy! This discount may possibly last a year or perhaps even two, during which time I'll accumulate as much as I can. This could be the last time it's ever possible to buy TSLA at near $100 a share.

Spot on, Gali. None of the contrary arguments make much sense. Things are as transparent as they can be. We are driving the current progress made on FSD and seeing for ourselves how far it has come. I don’t understand how anyone could not be bullish after just a 20 min ride.

Ideological possession combined with corruption. The lawyers and judges stand to gain billions from this and they are willing to try to tank one of the biggest publicly traded companies and its shareholders to get it.

Question: So Tesla is building a huge inventory of quicksilver Model Ys in Austin. That's interesting considering that they don't offer that color in the US, and you still can't order one in that color even now.. Is it possible that they are creating a fleet to be used as robotaxis?

I would like to see Tesla ramp up it’s cool in regards to spicing up the existing fleet somewhat regularly which equals new sales / interest. BMW did this in the past and owners would simply be forced to upgrade to the new version every 2-3 years to be on trend with the latest and greatest. Always luring the next generation to step up.

Random speculation: the robotaxi will have a big step up in compute. Maybe like 10 FSD chips instead of the current 2 chips on other cars. They’ll be able to deploy a much larger model which will perform significantly better.

I agree that Elon deserves that Pay-package. However, i think he should just publicize Master Plan Part 3. Offer an equally or even more ambitious roadmap than in Part 2 and demand an equally as impressive new pay package. That's gonna be much easier to sell to Hedge Fund investors than paying a man for work he has already done. These guys do not have the conscience or forethought that retail investors have.
