The future is bright, especially for older Mariners like myself. I predict that part of the transition to Autonomous vessels will be experienced/qualified mariners controlling many vessels remotely through sensors; cameras, radar, night vision etc. Together with reliable low latency internet. A great work from home job of the future for Captains and Skippers. I personally would love to be a part of this change.
I could listen to her ALLLLL my life ❤❤ she speaks with so much conviction, effortless charisma and confidence!!! She epitomizes women I love looking up to!!
Love the channel and Navier's mission! On top of the world changing potential; if marinas can install enough charging capacity, a cabin Navier could be incredibly popular in the Mediterranean, moving from city to city over the summer. That's definitely more of a second gen roadster, cherry on top use case though. Also Tokyo just started trialing water ferries from Toyosu to Nihonbashi, so this could be a good fit for a longer range trip :)
Sampriti has a really impressive vibe and way of talking, she seems like she knows exactly what she's doing as a founder and as an Owner, Operator, Founder could go far. I also think it's amazing they're at positive gross margins on their first batch of deliveries (granted the prices are relatively high and there's questions around demand at that price point) but still, that's way way ahead of Rivian for instance. And if fleet operators can be convinced to start up routes where they're used for their low cost per mile that makes a big upfront cost paletteable.
Our hydrofoil technology is what enables ELECTRA’S performance The proprietary technology at the core of Electra is our high efficiency hydrofoil design. This reduces the drag of the vessel by half, allowing for increased range, ride quality and zero wake.
Glosten and Bieker Boats teamed up to create Foil Ferry, the world’s most advanced high-speed, all-electric passenger ferry. Foil Ferry draws on Bieker Boats’ experience with ultra-efficient foil-borne vessels, including a cup-winning design for Oracle Team USA, and Glosten’s public and private sector work on innovative passenger vessels over the past 50 years. The design uses modern composite hull construction and hydrofoil technology to enable zero-emission, high-speed marine transport.
So if there is a good Navier service in SF. How much would it cost to dock an end of life Cruise Ship to Treasure Island. And then offer fully seviced rooms & Suites for monthly rent. Supplies would come in by Road. Power ftom the city grid but cruise ships are designed to be self sufficent. So the staff live on the boat as part of their salary. People coiod cook in their apartments but it will be cheaper to buy from onboard facilities. Some spaces on the ship would no longer needed and could be converted for other uses. Btw this is not a new idea, its just usually set in space.
Question for Navier: How important to your boat are the shaping of the hydofoils you use? If you're looking for experts in the fluid dynamics - come to Oxford & Oxfordshire. The home of Formula 1/2/3 & Rallysport, Indy car, Touring car, Formula E etc Here you will find consultants: experts in managing fluids water or air to get you the most effect

‘palatable’
The navier boat resembles the cool boats that come from Scandinavia(example Sargo), very exciting. I love her, she’s bad ass.
Crazy! I'm sitting here writing to Navier regarding a tour for our yacht club, and your video pops up 😂

What happened to the other co-founder. I saw his profile and he also made valuable contributions to the company.

Isn’t it quite energy intensive to keep the boat up on the hydrofoils?
she has a cool vibe

What's the matter?
You got a bridge you want us to invest in, instead, or something?
Your loss. Knowing Sampriti, I'm excited to see where her company is going; I'll invest 100% in her and her vision around maritime transportation.
China has started air taxi services and US is wasting time on water.
