My favourite moment was when he met the german traveller in the middle of nowhere. Exchange of few greetings and then part their ways.
It's kinda how we should meet people in life , as we are all travellers.

Very eloquently said . Outwardly, we may view the history of each peoples separately, but it is collectively march nevertheless. In the journey of mankind, one group may fall to the greed of another, yet the march of culture and civilization is renewed by another. The programme has introduced me to quite an hitherto unknown civilization in Sudan. I could never imagine that Sudan could hid in its womb tenants of earliest human endeavour in culture and civilization. I am curious to know whether these sites are declared as heritage monuments by UN.

I loved this documentary. As a westerner, and an American, I was truly touched by these people's kindness, generosity and acceptance of a true stranger. It makes me wonder how these people would be treated if they were immigrants into the west. Not nearly as as kindly as I would hope. And it's a shame on our western civilization. I believe they would be marginalized, shunned, and relegated to a class of people considered as less than. We, in the west, could learn about a lot about tolerance and acceptance from these beautiful, kind, and humane people.

I am glad you recognize that. But as an African, I can give you an experience of westerners welcoming me in their village in Southern France when I was a student laborer. I think urbanization does that to civilization. The more people are urbanized, the more they tend to be suspicious!

The neolithic Egyptians were certainly Sub Saharan Africa. Egypt became considerably mixed after the Neolithic period. Neolithic graves have been found in Gebel Ramlah in the South of Egypt and the remains match those of Sub Saharan Africans. Also, these Neolithic graves had the same burial practices as those of Ancient Egypt. ''Some groups (using cemeteries E-01-2, E-03-1, E-03-2, and E-09-4) show some affiliation with sub-Saharan Africans, readable in the pottery assemblage and other grave goods, as well as some morphological features''. The first Ancient Egyptians were most definitely black Africans or mixed with black.

The most enduring and destructive conquest of Egypt was not European. It was the Arab conquests that decimated the Egyptian language. It is often said to kill a culture you kill their language, that's why when Europeans colonized later they learned this from the Arabs and would spirit children away to be taught in European schools, much like the janissaries in Turkey. This concept was completely new to Europeans, but developed much prior by Arab colonizers.

Places like Egypt and Catharge (modern day Tunisia) were not originated by black Africans, even though the modern day demographics are largely influenced by them for a number of reasons. The old kindgom Pharaohs did not originate from within the African continent and had mostly Caucasian phenotype with red hair/ligher skin...
