As a mzungu who has lived in Uganda for 2 years and has also been to Zanzibar I salute you David, we need more documentaries like these to show Africa's exotic culture and their way of life. Lets celebrate our differences and revel in them thank you.
The fact that he’s always respectful towards different cultures is the real thing I like about his documentaries alongside the background score and amazing camera work. Love from India. Much appreciated!
Kenyan living abroad. So captivated by my lands beauty, loved the Masai chants mixed with the modern soundtrack with the backdrop of prayer. It saddens me that we have to leave such beauty because of lack of opportunity in Africa. Still we keep our heads high and dream of a better tomorrow.
@@wanderingsoul1189 yes, africa is beautiful , love the animals , , people, well, some are good and some are bad , make it bad for the country, i hope they would stop killing!!!!
Don’t worry your people will be the civilisation that will ascend and rule the world next in sha Allah. The turn of whites is over and the sun is setting on their history. I am sure when Africa rises it will be a better world because there is an innocence in them which will pervade the world and make it a better place to live in. In sha Allah. I am not an African btw.
What an unprecedented and beautiful documentary, you go where Steve Ricks has never gone and never will. I mean there's more to world cultures than just Europe. Being confined to your own little bubble is a cardinal sin, and your documentaries are genuine and gold.
I wish I could go half the places this dude has been. He seems like a likeable person and takes the time to listen and pays attention so he doesn't disrespect anyone's cultures..
Lol i speak swahili and the reaction of ali boss when he went up the mast was hilarious and then mr adam asked for another go despite the severe protest lol
But after all when dude told him to look safran he missed even the colour and take curcuma or some yellow staff, hahhah but in his head he keep info that is very expencive. Thats the wasp heads talkings. Hahahhah
Much respect to Capt Ali. He executed his part with the dexterity and discipline of a real captain. David, I commend your brilliance. Absolute time travel: bringing legend into today's reality.
It's amazing i watched this when I was in college on Discovery Channel. And now I just browse on you tube and I got this. David u r truly adventurous, explorer, and feeding your and our soul by making this kind of journeys to the edges of earth.
It is so incredible, I learnt so much in this video than living there all my teenage years. So astonishing how a man can trust his years of experience to navigate and sail successfully with no help of technology or any sort of map.
The flavor of this journey is ever so full of enthusiasm as were the other 3 I watched. However, Africa has such diverse Peoples with such colorful energies and Conscious Living of Life with a Mastery of Harmony, Passion, Genuine Emotion, and observable Gratitude. They are truly Magical in their Mastery of merging Soul with their Human and both with their Environment - they Shine Light - just as the Ancient Texts describe - These African Productions are Exceptional among those I've viewed, and each have been complete with the Capturing of their relative Peoples Spirits captured in the whole of the "Art of Production" - These are Award Worthy - I feel charged in positive energies for my having experienced each one. What a most genuinely shared Gift - Thank you. 💫⛅💫
Zanzibar, birthplace of Freddy Mercury and one of the largest slave ports in the world for hundreds of years. The Zanzibar slave market didn’t close until 1873, and then only under threat of bombardment by the British Navy.
David thanks for this documentary. Ali boss thank also for that Kenyan hospitality. Kenya hukuna matata, humming at the background is great sensation that lift my spirits
This is my country Kenya, u failed to recognize that lany is world heritage site, its beautiful, they have an annual celebrations, where they have donkey racing etc, its a site to see+visit Kenya inland u will see the maasai mara, amboseli, tsavo, Nairobi national park(the only national park in a capital city), kenya is beautiful, its wild&modern at the same time

Ali boss the captain says "huyu mgeni anafanya mambo ya kijinga, shuka hapo" when he climbed up the sail. Meaning " this guest is doing stupid things, climb down!". Keeps complaining what if the 'guest' falls down onto deck from high up there.
As a Kenyan who would love to take that sea trip sometime, I wonder how they go to the toilet while out at sea in these dhows... And he also never mentioned anything about trade licences, taxes, etc...Otherwise, great reporting. Such a humble dude. God bless you David! Much love
