Beautiful documentary. This is the route I exactly followed in January 1991. By far the most extraordinary trip I ever did. And I had the chance to meet with Mano Dayak, the most famous Tuareg who tried to defend his people and culture and who unfortunately died in 1995.

Well Mr. Adams you’ve done it again!! I clicked on a documentary that seemed to be of no interest and you narration and storytelling sucked me in! You made a paradise out of what looked like a desert wasteland to me!! I should know never to doubt you. If you take your time and energy to put into a documentary it’s gonna turn out good and be exciting to watch!! You literally make sand fun to watch! And with the skiing part.....what can I say....you’re a true renaissance man!

While l haven't the wealth, the health or freedom to travel, l have always wanted to see the extremities where most people don't venture-- to see a volcano, an iceberg in the Arctic, and this- ride a camel through the desert. I love Animals and have always thought of Camels as a very noble and beautiful Animal. "The Ship of the Desert"
Just like drinkable water is the oil of the desert, but worth more!
There was education but much beauty in this video as well. And that includes the music!

The production of this video was done very well. I do wish it covered more of the people and markets. I would like to see more on clothing and shoe making along with food procurement that this video does not cover. I would like to see leather tannery in the desert and how they make their clothing. Thank you for showing all the desert dwellers and part of who they are.

My friends think I’m nuts but I identify with that place. I was raised in a high desert in Eastern Washington, USA. As a young teenager I was reluctantly moved to Seattle, a land of rain. I hated it. Finally escaping I eventually left for health to Hawaii to find it’s actually much a desert. Life brought me back but I immediately left for the Eastern Oregon high country, then Utah and Nevada. I didn’t realize why really. I just followed a feeling. I ended up traveling the Black Rock desert, the Mohave and the Sonoran all the way to Mexico before returning due to COVID closures. Seeing this stirs me to begin again, perhaps a new continent 😎. I’ve finally found myself. I love deserts.

@@hannahr77 that is the most ignorant thing i have read in while, and thats impressive, but not in a good way.
You do realize Islam is a religion that has many many cultures, some of those cultures being the most important to our own current western civilization.
Up untill 1970s the majority of our western culture were neo-moorish buildings all over the face of this planet, basically all western countries immitated the middle eastern building style.
Most of our modern sciences have evolved from middle eastern sciences which at that time were almost all followers of Islam.
Just because a group of people in a remote area do no have the capability to evolve culturally does not make them unevolved, they would last longer out there then any of us would.
