I have a Samsung Galaxy A52 and a Dji Osmo Action 4, and I had not a single problem with the initial connection and registration of the camera, nor now when I shoot with it.
I find it a red flag that it doesnt work on the S24+ either without disabling security features, surely they can release a new software that the play store approves?
It is a pain that we need to use our phone to register the camera, and it is the same with gopro and insta360 aswell. I had most problems with Insta360 when I had it last year. DJI Mimo and updating OA4 works great on most Android phones, but if you have Samsung, Moto and Pixel then you will struggle.
Yes, It's extremely annoying and unnecessary. I have a Samsung, so for me the whole app procedure was impossible, which is a shame because I quite like the camera now that I am able to use it properly... !
Interesting video! I was thinking a camera like this could be good for getting some gimbal like shots for travel without needing to carry around/setup a gimbal. Though leaning towards using very small gimbal in future. So far mainly being doing handheld. Agree about register on app red flag. I have a DJI gimbal which had same thing although luckily worked ok on my phone so was not an issue. Still would prefer not need to register with app though just in case.
I was a fan of GoPro cameras until I purchased the Hero 10. The Hero 10 had a few annoying issues. The Hero 4, 5 and 7 were less buggy by far. I almost purchased the DJI Action cam but I held off. I think I’ll wait. I’m liking the direction insta360 is going. Since I have all these GoPro’s, I figured the insta360 camera would add more value to my kit. I got the X3 recently. Their action cam with flip-up screen is nice as well. But a waterproof 360* camera made more sense for me.
I really like the Osmo Action 4, but had a few issues with it on my first trip with it - front screen doesn't work on certain modes, some verbal commands like stop recording don't work in certain modes, and the customizable modes got erased and replaced with "unknown" at times. I'm going to wait for the Osmo Action 5. Agree about the registration - frustrating and unnecessary. Also, on the iphone you have to turn off cellular so that thumbnails appear when using the Mimo app.
Thank you for your comment, this is interesting... I've not had any issues like this with the camera myself, but then again I've only used it in low frame rates, and I generally don't use voice control. But this is something to note!
Try it at 60 frames instead of 30 or less. I took it skiing and was able to tell it to start recording using vocal commands but not stop recording. It was frustrating. Love the visuals out of the camera, though, great quality.
Hi there, we are sorry for any inconvenience. May I know the model of your Android phone?
Hi, sure - it's Samsung Galaxy A14
I have a Samsung Galaxy A52 and a Dji Osmo Action 4, and I had not a single problem with the initial connection and registration of the camera, nor now when I shoot with it.
I have a android phone and I simply downloaded straight from DJI website .. action 4 ,and software NOT one single issue ...
I tried to download from the website too and it didn't work for me :s
I didn't have an issue either until I upgraded my phone the other day, my old S8 was great with mimo but the S24+ is laggy and the streaming is broken
I find it a red flag that it doesnt work on the S24+ either without disabling security features, surely they can release a new software that the play store approves?
We are waiting for this... it's such a shame, because a part from this: it's overall a great product!
I had no problems at all with my Samsung phone and Mimo.
interesting..

thank you for sharing... idk what was the issue with my phone :s@@lortek_foto
The whole registering was an absolute pain. They really need to do better as its a great product. Pixel user
100% not a good experience which ruins the first impression of an otherwise good product!@@yourbestgolf365

100% the app experience in a huge let down. The camera itself is great and so far I've very much enjoyed using it!!
Thank you for the heads up I also have an Android
As you can see in the comment section, some people with Android have no issues at all. It just depends...
Hm i used the app and downloaded the latest firmware yesterday. The only odd thing was I didnt get a connection with usb c but used blutooth instead
