-Facts, Theories, Strats, and many more info about a game franchise or a movie franchise. and in this case. The God of War Iceberg.
In this video i explain the God of War Iceberg completely.
Going from the tip of the iceberg (where a lot of the info is, or might be widely known in the community) all the way down to the abyss (where the info given is super obscure).
sorry for any mistakes in the video. if you found any. just correct them in the comments down below so that we all have a great time :) thank you.

Now this video is sadly no longer on the top of the channel which sucks ;( that was a very proud achievement i had with the original video.
Anyways more people being able to watch is much better than the video being the most popular on the channel.
Enjoy :)
It had over 100k views 😢
loved the video thanks
This video went hard thanks for it brother
RUclips trolling too much
Artemis aswell like you get her blade but never see her it’s funny(I said this and literary straight after you said LMAO)
Hades aided kratos in gow 1 because he was not corrupted by the evils of pandora's box and he knew that kratos killed persephone because she freed atlas and literally tried to destroy olympus. Hades was a calm and reasonable person. But after he got corrupted he started saying random bullcrap
Yeah that makes sense also everyone one is dumb in god of war 3 because Athena is dead the goddess of wisdom wisdom left Greece that’s why Gaia the betrayed kratos despite being with him the whole time she is the narrator of god war before she revealed her self in god of war 2
@@LTmxr but wasn’t the whole series pointing out the fact the gods were dickheads before Pandora’s box but Pandora’s box made it worse
@@Mysticmystrioe how the gods forsaken the architect in gow 1 is a example and also the collective punishment of all titans because of cronos
Hades always seemed like a calm and reasonable person.
Is he
A calm, and reasonable person?
@@amazingmrpig6369Idk figure it out just don't take all day
Cory made a good point. Lore wise Kratos should be shit stomping everyone he comes across with one blow. It's different in the gameplay because if you one shot everything, it wouldn't be fun. Plain and simple. He can do it, but for gameplay reasons he just doesn't.
Strength of the Gods also vary depending on the myth. For example, Heracles is strong enough to hold the heavens in the place of Atlas but has difficulty defeating the Nemean Lion or the Hydra.
True, but not only is Kratos trying to hide his nature, he’s also trying to build Atreus’ confidence and combat skills. If he just killed everything with a single blow, Atreus would have 0 opportunity to engage in meaningful combat. This is obviously an in-lore excuse for making combat fun in the game like you said
@@adreak9868
The hydra has a strong healing factor and the lion had unbreakable skin. That doesn't break lore.
@@furyberserk on universal scale though? In that case they should be able to destroy planets yet they’re seen more as nuisances by a couple villages in the proximity
@@Riqo2Suave a diamond is the hardest object in the world, yet you can't grab a large diamond and punch a rock hard enough to break the rock.
Ok so let me get this straight : There are compilations of mk fatalities with no age restrictions, but an iceburg video with censored violent scenes gets age restricted. WTF is wrong with youtube
Yup. Welcome to youtube
RUclips sucks man there’s like no consistency
It's run by a woman so..
RUclips has a bias against the original God of war series I feel due to the nudity. Funny enough some fatality videos were triggering youtubes gore standards due to how realistic it looked.
Funny enough, some of those compilations include kratos, due to him being a guest appearance in mk9
Kratos got that type of immortality where a strong punch might kill him but he’ll just get mad about it and come back from the dead
bro it now makes so much sense, thors cut of the axe didnt heal cuz it was imbued with the poison in the previous game
Fun fact: giants in Norse mythology are usually peaceful and never choose to fight, maybe except for tyr and faye
This deserves more views
It originally had 105,000 views :D but it got age restricted. Hence the re upload
No it don't

tbh i didn't learn anything new from this iceberg. besides few fan theories
The reason GOW3 doesn't have NG+ is because some thing you can only do once you've got the ability like the portal next to hephaestus that needs hermes boots. If it had a NG+ you would be able to skip parts of the game and this would take quite a lot of work to fix
Why not just give us the items along the way already max
@@FriskTempest They didn't have the technology xd
@@DTPandemoniumwait gow1 and gow2 had ng+
@@_Mikeebeed_ ye it's a meme
No bro as he mentioned there is a glitch that allows you to have all the items from the starting and i tried it and the skip you are talking about is just unavailable if i press l2 and x kratos rushes mindlessly into the wall
As For Hades helping Kratos in the first game, it was because the gods were not corrupted by the evils of the titan war yet.
I wonder why Apollo and Artemis did not fight Kratos in God of War 3. Also, since they along with Aphrodite are probably still afflicted with corruption from Pandora's Box, they are probably evil...well more evil than the Greek gods and goddesses originally were.
Apollo was obviously replaced with helios. Even in the comic he appeared with very apollo like characteristics.
I choose to believe they either survived, escaping Zeus’ madness or they died during our fall to Hades
@@N.I.A23 the thing is both Apollo and Helios seems to be a different person all together since we got Apollo's bow instead of Helios's bow.
Either way, i just felt dissapointed that the goddess that gave us her blade in GoW 1 and the prominent deity in GoW Ascension, who just so happen to be sibling, barely made their appearance throughout the greek GoW not even in GoW Ascension
@@ShatteredGlass916 Apparently Artemis was planned to appear, but she was scrapped from what I heard due to time constraints.
Someone also said how she would look like, but I forgot. :/
@@N.I.A23 what comic?
On the Barbarian King: His name is Alrik, which is likely a reference to King Alaric I of the Visigoths who sacked Rome. Well apparently, if you read the comics, he was actually a champion of Hades, and had a personal vendetta against Kratos pre-dating that battle where he was decapitated. Namely, he blamed Kratos for his father's death, as Kratos took some life-saving ambrosia back to Sparta to save Calliope, while Alrik's father died of a strange illness. An illness which Hades had set upon him. Now, Hades is dead, and it's possible that after Hades died, then Alrik could've escaped the Underworld, and could even get recruited by the either the Æsir or by Freya with the offer to kill Kratos and his son.
Also, our idea of swear words is pretty modern in and of itself. Most of European history, it was less about what specific words you were using, and more about how you were using them. Stuff like sunuvabitch could've been said back then perhaps even more casually than it is now, since we're much more focused on the specific words themselves.
Zeus WAS the grave digger. I’d have thought this fact would be more common knowledge
Something that I want to mention that is overlooked and I feel is actually pretty important for Kratos mortal/immortal stuff. So basically, we took the soul of Hades in GOW3. It gotta do something beside summon some souls, he might be missing the claws but he still got the soul
Well yeah there is this argument as well
I don't remember where I read it, but apparently the Soul was connected to the Blades so he lost it after he lost the Blades.
Not only that, but he also killed Thanatos, the god of death. For all we know, this too had some bearing on Kratos' immortality
@@ExtremeGameplays1Kratos has type 1,2,3,4, and 8 immortality.
I think the Kratos Immortality is more referring to the nature of his Immortality being a curse. He is not allowed to die of old age or suicide, only to fall in combat. He does try to kill himself but the gods just won't let him die, cuz they are dicks
36:11 In the novelization of God of war it's said that kratos always had the blades of chaos but traded them for the blades of Athena. I'd imagine kratos had them hanging on a wall.
There are some theories that kratos' immortality is a curse. Basically, when pesephone tells him that his suffering will never end as she dies. Some speculate this was her cursing him. So he might be fully immortal.
There is also another thing about him being unable to kill himself due to the events that occure at the end of gow1. Where he tried but the gods don't allow jt
Including having to see his son die because id much rather have 30 more gow games with kratos than even half s game as loki
@@BestEndDBsame
@@ExtremeGameplays1 yea but the gods are dead now
Pretty sure Kratos' immortality likely originated from him killing Death-related gods and deities like Thanatos, Persephone, Charon and Hades. Just an educated guess.
theres a funny story about me and the colossus in god of war 2, my game was so scratched so by the point i reached the fight, it would always crash, so the chanting actually worked
The barbarian king explanation is the best part of this entire video
10/10
Extremegameplays I love you buh sometimes your videos take so long I start sleeping in between them😂
This was the first video I’ve ever watched and I’m proud of myself that I continued watching
Amazing iceberg as a god of war fan been playing since childhood really nice to see how involved the fanbase still is keep it up 👍
Really good content and good Chanel keep the good work
20:40 it's sort of a mix of both. It's more conditional but you need to destroy him beyond repair like any Olympian. Remember the damage you give Zeus at the end of god of war 2 and that he's pretty much completely fine at the beginning of God of war 3.
Well made video. Loved the editing.
50:31 It's a Sanskrit shloka from Geeta.
Fun fact - Robert Oppenheimer father of nuclear bomb said the same shloka when the America testes the nuclear bomb for first time
Top notch video.🔥🔥This is my second favourite iceberg video after wendigoons conspiracy theory iceberg series. GODLIKE⚡️⚡️
Thanks and i'm glad you liked it!
I can't be Mad at you for getting so much from Kaptain Kuba. He's the G.O.A.T of GoW RUclipsrs
@thekosiara if we be taking that route how about the Midgard chronicler? He pretty dope too.
@thekosiara i can G.O.A.T means Greatest of all Time. There can be the Greatest of all Time(singular) and The Greatest of all Time (Plural)
If you think about it Zeus didn't actually imprison the titans, as you explained the titans were teleported into the future before Zeus used his blade, only Chronos and Atlas (who we saw were defeated were left behind, so Gaia was lying to Kratos about that, which makes sense seeing as both Athena and the Sisters tell Kratos Gaia is lying/telling half truths, this also lines up with her betrayal in 3.
If you think about it this is pretty deep as Gaia must have found a way to communicate with Kratos from the past as she tells Kratos in the past, she has been waiting for him.
Gaia is a master manipulator.
Also, I don't think Zeus was that bad before opening Pandora's box, while he is paranoid about being overthrown (which is understandable, not only did he overthrow his father but in Greek mythology Cronos did the same thing to his father also at the behest of Gaia) he actually helps Kratos in the first game as the Gravedigger.
While he's definetly not a good guy he wasn't really evil until after opening the box and I could see him feeling guilty for what he did to Kratos after the evils have left his body in 3.
This is hands down the single Best GoW video I’ve ever seen.
Saving to watch it after work!
Really hope you enjoyed it and the part 2 of the iceberg!
On the sacrifice level in GOW 1 , I remember having to sacrifice the monster on the ps2 version ... I found out years later they replace the soldier with the monster for EU Market because it was too sadistic to burn a "man" ...
My respect for boat captain
he everywhere
He a immortal
He time travels to all god of war game
00:53 I was NOT expecting to see Lex in this video but here we are 😂
It would be a fun twist if they brought back Aphrodite with a son Kratos fathered during God of War III, intending to continue the cycle of sons killing their fathers.
Pretty sure Kratos' immortality likely originated from him killing Death-related gods and deities like Thanatos, Persephone, Charon and Hades. Just an educated guess.

Ye its true

I used to think that this "prediction" was a subtle hint that God of War 4 would take place in Norse Mythology given the whole World Serpent
25:34 after ragnarok I think we can confirm that this theory was true
i like your attitude and voice so im subbing g
thanks king, welcome to the channel
In defense of there being swearing in God of War 2018 compared to the original trilogy and spin-offs, the Norse pantheon isn't as curt and stoic as the Greek pantheon, most notably the Spartans. Spartans speak in a very direct and honest way, with no additional fluff to what they want to say, so that's why Kratos doesn't swear in the OG trilogy outside of the using the word "ass" to possibly refer to a donkey.
kratoses immortality is him cominng back from hell multiple times but the age thing too , and not being able to be killed by mortals
Love it you gained a new sub
Awesome! Thanks and i'm glad you enjoyed it!
@@ExtremeGameplays1 you will definitely blow up very soon
The quality of video are on a whole another level for someone with that amount of subs
8:20 it says Rhodes because that's where the colossus was from, zeus made him, if I remember correctly to protect Europe (Europe was a chick that he banged not the Europe that we know) also kommatiase ton means rip him apart
Small correction on the Rhodos theme song, "Komattiaseh ton" means "chop him into peaces". Not "stomp him".
Fun fact: at 41:58 kratos says "My fate lies... Elsewhere, take this gift. If properly honed, it could up root the *Olive trees* of Olympus"
That's a hint in gow Ragnarok where Mimir asked kratos what food is he craving for and kratos responded "Olives" and Mimir responded "The hells an Olive?"
47:18 i found that myself in my last GoW2 playthrough, i thought it wasn't that big of a deal, just a nice little detail. But you availed it to no end, i didn't know it was that drastic.
52:11 He even says at the end "I beg on your humanity" among the lines.
This was seriously an amazing Iceberg. ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks my dude!
YOOO finally a re-upload after the old one got age restricted!
Great vid.😺
Love the MrT clip you put in the beginning
you earned a sub man, nice
Thanks dude!
Seeing you use lex's failed Gorod Krovi run 100 run to describe how long you spent making the tier list was out of pocket and amazing
Thanks for putting the effort to find all this secrets 😎👍
Thanks a lot man :) glad you liked it!
I think why Hades helped Kratos in the first game is because in the first game he still didnt have the shit in Pandora's Box, so he understood the circumstances of what happened with Persephone and Atlas and all of GoW: CoO, but then, in GoW 2 bro got like sadness or vengence or smth like that and wanted to revenge Persephone, and his recently died brother and nephew.
Any video using Lex's GK round 100 mental breakdown is a W in my book
Subscribed due to referencing Relapse my god I haven’t thought about that Siamese twin verse in ages thanks
19:18 I think Kratos is immortal as in that when he dies, he'll be transported into the limbo of the mythology he's currently in (ie Greece's underworld or Nordic Helheim) and he has the strength and willpower to just come back like he's done more than once before.
Subbed!
I feel it is more acceptable for someone to watch this only having played the originals games rather than someone watching that played only 2018.
Perfect Video
Nice video
I found an Exploit on the spider thingy and just kept switching weapons on his leg since it didn’t take damage and you can just keep on going and heighten your hit combo.
Such underated I’ll put an end to this chaos!
I just assumed kratos calling him boy was him not showing respect as a man yet. When he starts calling him by his name is when he “recognizes” him as his son. My head canon
I dont think zeus actually betrayed all the titans for the sins of one, because as per real greek mythology, some titans like prometheus and helios sided with zeus during the titanomachy, and those Titans were not thrown in tartarus, the titans that were thrown into tartarus were the Titans who sided with cronos, as in god of war it seems that gaia and some other titans sided with cronos, I think gaia really said this just to manipulate kratos into her side
Now that i know the official sacrifice in GOW 1 its super super dark
Well
I like the subtle zombies theme throughout the vid
Great vid
Thank you!
the way you say Barbarian lol
awesome video btw i subbed keep up the great work man what did you think of Ragnarok by the way
BEAR BEARING KING.
Ragnarok? I have a review called 'the job of a sequel - god of war ragnarok'
Search it up and it has my FULL thoughts about the game.
This is Goated 🐐
I heard going there back then would show a timer but I forgot what happens when the timer ended
Intro song is the Perseus Battle/Isle Combat theme from God Of War II.
0:49 bro I love mrtlexify amazing reference love that video so godamn much
36:31 I think that the blades of exile may have became the OG design also due to the magic from Greece being gone, or it could be like in GOW Ragnarok where they state weapons lose upgrades over time.
I learned the whole God of War story from this ONE video
The "I am become death destroyer of worlds" reminds of lyrics from gristle licker by cattle decapitation. "I am become death destroyer of humans"
I think there's 2 very good reasons there's no New Game Plus in GoW3:
Onyx and Bramble.
Hell, the "New Game Plus" speedrun (the glitched one) literally skips the entire game by breaking the chain at the start with the already obtained Nemean Cestus.
If there were an actual legit NG+ speedrun, they'd likely have to figure out how gate you from skipping all that at the start. It'd be like playing a Metroidvania with every ability from the start.
Zesty: alright the vid is done
Now time to torture myself more with time stamps
song at 0:05 is Battle of Perseus if anyone's wondering
I just wanted to add one little correction. I believe the sacrifice scene in og God of War was changed to the undead legionnaire for localization. It's definitely not changed on the PS3 version, at least not the US one. I just finished playing it again recently. I could be mistaken about that, but know I've never played the Vita version, but I just wanted to let you know. Overall though, great video, I'm glad someone finally made a God of War iceberg video
Yeah it turned out it was just a different port, the europe port of the game to be exact.
>glad someone made iceberg
You should check out part 2 then :) you might enjoy it
@@ExtremeGameplays1 I was pretty positive that's what it was. Did you happen to find anything about why it was different for them?
Edit: honestly, changing it to the monster breaks some of the environmental storytelling. You can find a soldier who killed himself saying that what the gods ask for is too much, but if it's a monster instead of another person, that makes no sense. I wonder if that also got removed
@@elijahhuffstutler7012 well it's clear why they replaced the soldier with a random undead. The scene was too violent
@@ExtremeGameplays1 i get that part, I just meant why specifically the European release. The scene is definitely very dark, but it stayed the same for other releases
@@elijahhuffstutler7012 well. Europe rules i guess
That Eminem line had me weak lmao
The barbarian king waiting patiently for kratos to call Ares then waits for him to come down and for him to give kratos new weapons: 😐
25:53 this aged like wine that was sitting on the shelf for 5 months
I swear I got both versions of the sacrifice in the first god of war. The first time I played it there was the creature in a cage where kratos does his evil smile and after a few more playthroughs it changed to the solider with kratos telling him the gods demand a sacrifice, he didn't smile though.
The first time I came across the alternate version I thought I remembered it wrong. And this was on my regular ps2 as well
I think it's a NTSC vs PAL thing, I just played the PAL version twice (once on Spartan and once on God) and I got the creature both times, they probably used the PAL version as the base for the PS3 version
Appolo had his godly powers taken away a couple of times in the myths maybe Zeus just forgot lmao
30:19 My best explanation is that Zeus ordered him to. Maybe Zeus knew that Ares wanted to overthrow Olympus and wanted Hades to aid Kratos.
Lmao the way you do Kratos dialogue lol
I just got God of War 3 on ps4 2 days ago and I liked this video
Make sure to check out my combat guide for the trilogy. It's a new video on my channel but it's long
I think I know why there's no new game plus in Gow3
In the beginning of the game, there's a sequence where you enter Gaia's heart. There's these branches that covers the crystal that shields her heart. Now if you have all the weapons, namely the nemean cestus and Apollo's bow, you would be able to destroy these branches and the crystal behind it, rendering the heart vulnerable.
But we all know that this is only possible at the end of the game, so if we were to destroy Gaia's heart early in the game, we MIGHT skip immediately to Zeus's boss fight at the end (I never tried this though so who knows?)
So yea, that's what I think
It would be impossible cause you would have to gain those godly tools to get past the branches and heart
so zeus said the cycle ends here when he killed his son and kratos does it to baldur as he kills him to save his mom, makes so much more sense now i was like what cycle is he talking about
I just got finished playing the Vita version and they had the original line for that one Spartan with kratos saying the gods demand sacrifice? So like was it in like version 2 or something
Hey Zesty Can you make a going though bosses god of war 3 with the blade of Olympic
3:34 it was mentioned in Cory Barlog plays god of war 2
On that last point, I never saw evil kratos smile, the first time I played God of War 1 it was on the "god of war saga" disc, and it was the original cutscene, so did they change it with an update or what?
I remember corey wasnt fired, in a video he explained how he said he wouldnt be able to play kratos in gow 2018, since they got his new actor not only being able to voice but mocap him perfectly since he is tall, muscly and a very good figure for new kratos, he said it wouldnt be the same if he only voice acted kratos over the new voice actor only mocaping
Maybe the reason why Kratos smiled because the man in the cage is replaced by an undead soldier but if would be creepier if it is the man who is used for sacrifice
42:55 dindt knew you watched tankfish lmao
“There he is Tyr is alive”
Me: Haha...
50:38 is a reference to a man ho created nuklear bomb. Those were his words when he sew what he helped create.
