  • In this video, I talk about some fairly shocking events that had happened whilst off duty, and even of a time when I was attacked on a night out with my friends due to being recognised as a police officer. As a Police Officer, you are ALWAYS on duty. In this video, I discuss a couple of situations where I've been off duty but had to spring into action.

      I’ve had a lot of experiences with the police. What I found most bizzare is that I used to work along side Cheshire police with regards to various “police incidents” in specific circumstances.. Yet I used to get stopped by Cheshire Constabulary for “looking shady” and “matching the description of a *add lie here*”.. I was at the point where I’d leave a scene and take badge numbers and say to whoever stopped me “I’ve been working with your colleague ****** tonight”.. 5 minutes later after checking out my ”story”, it would always be “sorry to bother you sir”. I had no time for any of them in the end, if I worked 4 nights a week I’d put money on getting stopped 6 times. I don’t slate the police, I defend them when and where I can, I certainly couldn’t do their job but there are still some absolute bellends, as with every industry.

    • @residentelect
      @residentelect 2 года назад

      The rules and regs regarding "getting stuck in" while off duty have always been somewhat of a grey area, and some lads and lasses seem to always be in the wrong place at the wrong time 💩🧲
      These daysFIMs/FDOs/Comms Supervisors etc do seem to have more consideration for your situation and welfare when you shout up via 999 off duty, especially if its a violent crime in progress.
      At the end of the day you're throwing yourself into a potentially risky confrontation without PPE, vest, Airwave, Job vehicle and the such, so they'll quite often advise you not to go steaming in, but to observe and report till backup arrives, unless there is clearly a significant threat to life.
      DVs are the worse to come across when off duty. Bad enough dealing with them on shift, let alone walking home from the Red Lion after a few sherbets!!

    The way police officers are forced to live by the duty they live by is actually honourable, they live in fear of being followed home, and being attacked due to their profession, I could never live with having to change my life to make sure people don’t follow me home. It would be awful. And people who call officers every name under the sun, who risk their lives day in and out being a hero, in their spare time is unreal. They are only trying to get the peace that we need and remove the dangers from the streets. Big respect to them, paramedics, firemen etc. all deserve golden medals.

    York Magistrates Court has heard how a man was arrested for breaking a 145-year-old law on being drunk in charge of a horse.
    Robert Milner, 49 was arrested at the Swan Hotel, Milford, North Yorkshire, after police received a complaint of damage to a car in the hotel’s car park.
    The officer who attended the complaint suspected Milner was drunk, observing him holding the reins to a horse and cart. Milner had been at the hotel for a family christening and had been letting children take turns riding in the cart with him. The cart had apparently clipped another vehicle as he was riding around the premises’ grounds.

    What Ben isn’t mentioning is it works both ways… Only yesterday I was sat outside in a beer garden having a quiet drink. And I could overhear sat on the next table, an off duty police officer. Who was bragging to his mate about how much he likes to fight people and “wrap them up” . One example he used didn’t even sound like a violent criminal but a vulnerable person who had mental health/ learning difficulties. That off duty cop sounded like an obnoxious prick.

      @@serenityinside1 I dunno, I've heard people asked why they became police officers, and they've said "so I can have control over people." The reason Ben has all these experiences is that he goes looking for it, because being a police officer is the core of his whole self esteem, and being able to big it up with his warrant card in a bar during a fight makes him feel big and clever. The problem is that when he calls his mates in that situation dozens of them turn up, whereas if we call the cops in those situations we're lucky to get one guy a few days later. British police are very variable and a lot of what Ben comes out with tells you why.

    i fear for all our future if a person choosing a life of public servitude is abused one second then expected to "do their duty" to statistically the same person abusing them in their free time...just remember before you call them "pigs" that these "unselfish" people are the very people you NEED and never say NO when the shit hits the fan..All i have to say to Mr Pearson is, thank you for your service.

    The way I see it is you get officers like him, or you get officers that just hate everyone. But at the end of the day it’s one of the most stressful jobs you can have, I respect them all in that respect but never abuse your power no matter what job you’re in

    I live in an place where one end of my road is in one police forces area, the other end is a different force; those officers are diametrically opposing. The one force are fair, kind, consistent and fair. They are orders of magnitude bigger than the other and always crazy busy but when I've needed them, they've always come through. The other are openly aggressive, rude and have the distinct reputation of 'Deliverance in a stab vest'. It's all good fun here 🤣 Still have a lot of respect for our boys in blue, providing I don't have to deal with dodgy ones ha!

    This is defo why police should always be able fo carry their kit and as this can happen to anyone in regards to being attacked everyone should be entitled to pepper spray for self defence and it should be classed as a defence spray not a section 5 firearm. It could save so may lives if we stopped worrying about hurting the criminals feelings all the time.

      When you dont have the ability to arrest someone, dont give the 'advice'. A lot of police officers will say 'we arent arresting you but dont do a, b, c or we will', useless statement just trying to gain authority, its like saying 'if my grandmother had wheels she would be a bike' another useless statement. Dont treat the public as children and you will get far better results.

    • @MrHennoGarvie
      @MrHennoGarvie 2 года назад

      @irigouis88 I'd say its more often used when they cant legally arrest you for anything but want to stamp their authority on you anyways. You can give descretion without telling someone what to do.

    • @MrHennoGarvie
      @MrHennoGarvie 2 года назад

      irigouis88 I don’t have time to read all that but I read some. I think you are wrong. Just watch the police programs, when they can’t arrest them it’s always words of advice, same with those auditor videos, they make the police look terrible because they are. Bunch of authoritarian dickheads. Officers never need to give advice, they should either use discretion and let you go or they charge you. They are not qualified to give advice, they are there to keep the peace. Their Advice doesn’t do anything to help it’s always stuff even a kid would know, therefore it’s just to satisfy their ego.

    • @MrHennoGarvie
      @MrHennoGarvie 2 года назад

      @irigouis88 You clearly have a bias too though, everyone does. I got the gist of what you were saying, the rest didnt matter. Advice is never appropriate from the police if they are trying to arrest you, its always information that is very obvious to the person and the officer is only doing it to gratify himself. I can watch multiple channels with different views, the auditing channels are usually baiting the officers but the officers should not get baited by a man with a camera to start off with. Even on police propaganda shows like police interceptors they make themselves look like dickheads, chasing after people with no insurance constantly whilst houses are being burgled etc or stopping people for a completley unrelated offence then finding cannabis in the car. Far too many negative things outweigh the postives of the police in the UK these days. Get them patrolling again and it might be different.
