“I don’t give a fuck”. Absolute classic Ben. Top cop, top bloke and real life hero. ❤️
I can't believe Mrs Miggins didn't get involved, must be the first job she hasn't interfered with!
🤣🤣🙌
Did she bake an enormous pie in the shape of an enormous pie?!
She were locked up that day!
Hahaha
Ben, your story reminded me of a guy I was partnered with on the ambulance: he was one of my Clinical Instructors.
We were enroute to a chest pain on the fairway of a golf course, and he was enthusiastically telling me about how he would theoretically rob the weekend takings from the snowfields using snowmobiles etc, when suddenly he drove the ambulance into a bunker that he hadn't seen and fucking cabbaged it. As we're lying on the roof of the upside down ambulance with shit everywhere he says "I swerved to avoid a kangaroo, right?"
This dude was a great paramedic, but a better crook.
"Cabbaged it" - never heard that one before!
Well at least the ambulance was in the right orientation for the kangaroo excuse.
Well done Hamza and good on you Ben. He will never forget you 👍🏼👌🏻
Wonder how he’s doing ie his career progression, considering this amazing start. Or did he leave thinking it wasn’t for him 🤔
Ben I’m joining my local force in a month and a bit, finally got past all the stages and I’m so excited, yet also nervous, however your videos have inspired me and a video like this has really helped me in terms of advice and getting a general idea of how to be a good officer like you, I remember watching you all the time on interceptors even when I was a lot younger I knew I wanted to be like you, you sir are a legend to me and I hope things are getting better for you, you’re videos really keep me going in these unsure times and I thank you for it from the bottom of my heart, top man
Best of luck buddy! :]
Wishing you a wonderful career!
@@pov-drives644 thank you

Best of luck, Jamie.
Remember to observe, listen, and of course never beat yourself up if you don't get something quite right first time!
Every day is a school day in "the Job" and irrespective of whether are one month in, or one month from retirement, you're constantly learning.
Confidence comes with experience and you only gain that experience from giving things a go, even if the result isn't what you expected.
Take care out there mate.
I think it's absolutely foul that in the eyes of the law, a pursuing police officer has to assume the responsibility of fleeing criminals to the extent that they, can be charged for the actions of said criminals in the event of fatal rtc... It beggars belief.
Ben as always, great video mate. It's a joy to learn about the calling that I've always wanted to be in but sadly due to health issues... I doubt I'll get there now.
I'll look forward to future content here, hang in there fella, all the best.
N
Ben, you are an absolute inspiration and a top bloke.
The public have absolutely no idea how the police put their lives on the line, on duty and off, every day. The insight you give will hopefully give everyone a greater awareness. You're a great guy, Ben. I'm really appreciative that you make these videos. I hope you're feeling better as the weeks go on.
I was at work (security officer) and was talking with some cops about you and your channel, both myself and the cops all love your stuff, much respect from Edinburgh
How can anyone dislike these videos they’re absolutely amazing, hope your doing alright Ben can’t wait for the next one.
Thank you!
Big up to Ben, another great video from a great guy! much respect. made me think a lot of my last tour of Afghanistan as i had been in 16 years and had lots of 18 year old lads (and lassies) just out of training who knew nothing about the realty of combat! I think there is a lot in common with Soldiers and Police officers although i have to say that i think now a days police offices see worse stuff than soldiers (due to Iraq/ Afghan ending) and do a much harder job as people expect soldiers to be rough with them but police have to stay within the law.
Looking at joining the police after I'm finished in my current job. Just bought your book and currently mid way through, absolutely top bloke. Such a huge eye opener about the ins & outs of every day life in the force and the hidden mental side within it! Top book by a top guy, highly recommend! Keep up the good work pal.
It's always good to have a second person with you for morale and to bounce ideas off. Makes any job more than twice as easy. (Or less than half as hard!)
Another Friday night with Ben, these stories are better than a night on the lash 😊 I don’t think you realise how amazing you are Ben xxx
To all police thanks we need you keep doing this job and never think you are not appreciated because you are. A Old lad .
GLORIOUS, some people and their life priorities. Sat in a burning car and the first thing they focus on is "neck pain" KEEP THOSE PEOPLE IN THE CAR. I'm not suggesting for a minute that you have that outlook on life Mr Pearson, many thanks for another lovely video.
Great story Ben, I know the road to Shipley golf club well. Not surprised they got it wrong and rolled it. Oh and just ordered the book so looking forward to reading it.
Amazing video Ben.
nice one ben
Bravery at its finest there mate. But good on you for making the. Wait like anyone else for medical attention
What a first day!! Well done Hamza
I guess you can call that a baptism of fire 🔥🔥😉😉
You really are a good man Ben.a legend my friend.
That must've been terrifying, Ben. Hope those burglars are grateful you saved their lives
Probably out burglaring again the next day
@@Slacktionman Same day**
ben, you're such a genuine human. Thank you!
Meanwhile, two officers, PC Benjamin Pearson and PC Hamza Darr received a Judges’ Commendations award. They ended up in a car chase with a stolen car in Bingley which flipped and rolled several times before bursting into flames. Both PC Pearson and PC Darr pulled the four occupants out of the car and proceeded to treat them, despite the circumstances and the obvious danger.
Why do I want to say in the words of Samuel L Jackson's character Zeus "Fuck 'em, let 'em cook!"?
Well done though, seriously. Another great video!
Another excellent Video Ben, well done to you and Hamza, even if they are burglars and robbed a off licence they are so human beings at the end of the day and may turn their lives around.
Every time you mention Binley, I just have their bloody theme tune in my head 😂😂
Jusy finished 'Handcuffed Emotions', I wasn't aware just how much you are suffering mate. I hope RUclips and writing is cathartic for you and you can find peace.
Going to get your new book, is it available as an audio book?
Take care mate.
Andy
Another great video on just how intense it must be to start as a new officer, especially when they are teamed up with the ‘Elite’!…..but it’s obviously the best way to learn 👍🏼
It's strange, your fresh out of training and everyone on your new rota measures you up, what does he know? Can he handle himself? Your treated like your wet behind the ears and, for me at least my tutor took me through everything
Even though I learned it in training, he'd dip in with reminders and slowly you become more competent.
First job is always terrifying as everyone's eyes are on you, my first was talking down a guy trying to OD on pills , but you son learn that job is in the past and you've come a long way since then
@@brh9262 I think you do an incredible job, thanks for sharing your experience.
@@sammyg6387 no worries bud, I think there's lots of stigma in the media around the police so any opportunity to educate people on what policing is really like, particulary because I want to spread a positive image
And that's why I respect Ben Pearson, he's been through allot worse than me and he is sharing for our benefit ; and his own
@@brh9262 I totally agree, I was bought up to have the utmost respect for the police, that will never change. People have no idea what the Police have to deal with on a day to day basis 👍🏼
The service I'm with - part of the green family - has got policies and procedures in place now for trainees, X numbers of third manning and all that.
Middle of last year, in order to get bums on seats and Control being willing to bend over backwards to accommodate crew requests, we had some siblings go through training together, and went straight from the classroom training to doing double crewed shifts together.
It was quite shocking to hear that 1: They wanted to go out immediately together without an experienced person to assist them, 2: That Control let them do that, and 3: That station management didn't see that and say something.
Having someone more experienced to hold your hand is so helpful, and having someone less experienced making you have to explain your decision process more to them makes you think about your decision making more (I'm going to do XYZ because... Wait, why AM I doing XYZ and not ABC?)
I've been around some crashes. Fcking terrifying those first few seconds. Never seen anyone damaged. Can't imagine what that'd be like.
I once saw a guy loose his head in a wreck. His body was walking around bumping into things...think he was trying to find his head but obviously couldn't see for shit
@@zromo8994 I don't know enough to be sure but my understanding is the nervous system below the neck doesn't have the processing gubbings to handle that sort of thing.
I can imagine heart and lungs might still do stuff for a bit.
Brilliant as always Ben 👌🏼
Dang! Quite Literally a baptism of fire.
Another great video Ben
ANPR: Automatic number plate recognition
RTC: Road traffic collision
Ben, I'm reading Hotel Tango 23. Finished Handcuffed Emotions. I have a lot more respect for your job now. Obviously have read both in your 'voice'. Are you going to write a 3rd? x
I'm still to read any of his stuff but totally mean to. I wonder if he'd consider an audibook version? Hearing the man himself read his accounts of his days in the service would be awesome!
Ben, my girlfriend was interviewed yesterday at “real porridge podcast” her name is Ciara and her story is mind blowing. Thanks for watching x
❤️🙏
Another cracking story ben
Did I hear that right. If they had died you would of gone to prison? How the hell can that be right?
Listened to you on the happy hour podcast, I must not have been listening very well though because I had no idea you had a RUclips channel! Dropped a sub :)
You are a hero sir
Blessings ben.as always a great video.it will probably be a question for a later date but " but can you not use half decent road worthy cars that have been seized to ram other cars used in criminal activity as opposed to a 60k BMW X5...?
They seriously put cops in prison if someone stupid enough to be running from cops and wrecks and dies?
Love your videos
M8 I could listen to these stories all day more a week plz
Being a part of highway maintenance when you attend a serious RTC is intense, I've attended too many sites involving motorbikes, that I won't ride one or let anyone I know get one
What a legend. If anyone has seen interceptors you can say Ben was the best driver out of the pack.
Another sound piece of advice for probationers is that the only daft question is the one you never ask.
Ben, have you ever, or any colleagues found yourself/them in a pursuit chasing someome who's an advanced driver? Thanks
Ben your a top fella hun x
some clasie kleghuddisfacx people right there, glad you had a trainie to keep you on trak for these usual antiques from the poeple of this area ..........
How is it that if someone died (the end story) you would have been locked up for dangerous driving? Does that happen? Your driving doesn’t change if someone survives?
Nothing like being chucked in at the deep end 👀
Hi Ben, when you thinking of doing the audible version of the new book? Loved handcuffed emotions
I don't know who picked the thumbnail, but it's class. So funny!
Water beats fire every time.
It's hard to know what to do They pull off chase's like that (90-30) now here in NZ & helecopter on infrared if at night.
Ben,
My local force aren’t currently recruiting officers, but I’m half tempted to apply to become a Special, but have heard mixed reviews about them getting treated like crap from regular officers.
Do you think it’s worth while doing or just hold off for a Regular position to become available?
Specials get respect if do the same shift hours ie Friday night Saturday night when your on duty, also the regulars recruit come from specials as training can be cut down a bit as already have some experience, only real people that get direct entry without being a special os BAME people good for stats that is it
Hi Ben, great stuff as usual. I’ve got a question for you mate, how do you feel about the fact that under British law at the moment someone can be arrested and given a criminal record for offending somebody? something you’d probably get over in about 5 minutes, however having a criminal record is something that most people can never get over I.e find a job, get a flat…. Bearing in mind that freedom of speech is a human right, and therefore being prosecuted for something you say is an infringement of said human rights.
Depends what you say and how/when you say it. The old saying "words can never hurt me" is so untrue, words can and do hurt, under some circumstances. To quote another saying, "engage brain before opening mouth."
I've just finished reading your 2nd book spent all day Sunday reading it when is the 3rd coming out its a good book 2 read
Thank you…watch this space 😂
Would love to hear an interview with Hamza
Have been to a couple of R.T.C s myself and its always the big so called hard men are the biggest babies.
"Don't give a fuck" lol
Hilarious
Well done Ben, the turds got more help then they deserved. well done agaon
Ben please tell us about the 13yr old you caught doing 100mph on bingley bypass
Fecking hell Ben you done some crazy good shite. Not so sure they'd learn anything from it though probably out nicking other cars for more quick fixes, you'd have been cuffed if they died wtaf they took their lives in their own hands by nicking the motor and crashing it that's darwinism, the chasing cops shouldn't be held accountable for someone else's actions.
Ben I work in another part of the CJS and most of ours would shit themselves and run the other way faced with what you described. They come back from the college pretending they are billy big balls and all knowing, you cant tell them fuck all. Some are ok, but 95% are pretty poor.
Its unacceptable that police get sent out on their own now. They need more than 1 person for instances like that. The justice system is bullshit aswell
All honesty this copper is how cops should be with criminals u fuck up your own fault and the fact he's straight talking etc respect that from a copper
Why would you go to prison because somebody else can't drive?
Got pulled by police other day doing deliveries , I'm always 100% wi car so no worries but I was annoyed and as soon as they started talking I was like..."oh they just doing a job"
Ben can u explain to me what "quitting" is offence wise , cos I got out of car with the car still running as we did checks , I still can't work out what the actual offence is , the name gives a theory but not really 😫
Hi mate
I'm a different Ben to the one you asked, but I was a Bobby too
So, quitting a vehicle is there you leave a vehicle unattended, engine running or unattended without securing it
Look at Road Vehicles Regulations 1986 it says it's an offence to leave a vehicle unattended
The engine needs to be off and the parking brake needs to be applied.
Hope this helps
@@brh9262 thanks matey , just a thing while I got ya tho you should get Ben to react to that motorway cop show with the twins, madness on the motorway/fast lane, its chilling cos its live an one twin runs across motorway bang in front of an Arctic the other then starts running an a car at 60mph head an shoulders first , plus before the Bobby's got there u see the motorway camera an hlboth have had collisions before the police get there, the one under the Arctic survived it was just right spot where every wheel went over her legs but she was conscious an trying to fight police , this wat iv told u also is a pre cursor for a massive twist
Oh an maybe the Bradford riots that must have been an insane time for u guys
Sorry if it was me I would of left them in the car thieves deserve what they get as justice system too soft
Let them pay the ultimate price
Definitely they need to learn their actions have consequences
Really? I agree the justice system isn't worth a fuck, but to leave people to die for stealing a car? That's poor mate.
@@mrade5321 it’s not really that’s someone property who’ve gone out worked for it and these cunts steal it crash it then write it off you think that’s acceptable
You dont know the situation though do you. Theres 4 people in car sure its stolen but are all of them guilty? woman could have been pregnant, or only the driver knew it was stolen, could be just driving a mate who doesnt know its stolen.
As a victim of "burglerist scum" I'd have let em cook for a good ten minutes. Did they end up with compensation?
Moral of the story; water beats fire?
Not if it’s petrol, it causes the flames to spread. Which is why you should Carbon Dioxide or foam. Water should only be used on paper/wood fires :)
@@Craig_Franklin I don't think you got the joke... Ben missed out on the award because of someone saving 4 people from a car sinking in water. but his car on fire was beaten by a car filled with water. water beats fire. hahaha. haha. ha. ha. haha. ha. ha. ha...... ha.
What's the procedure for farting in a police car do you have to pull over at the side of the road and arch your back away from the vehicle or can you fart at each all day?
Get out!!!
@@BenPearson1965 If the other police officer asks where your going do you have to tell them the truth about flatulence? and does it get recorded as evidence in certain cases 😅
Should of left them in there
To be honest I luv watching you mostly because your so damn cute !!!
