Sisters, I am discerning a vocation to the passionist community in ireland. I really love contemplative life and hope God will one day grace me with the gift of contemplation. Do you have any book recommendations on the passionist spirituality? I've read much of the carmelites but not much passionist.

Dear Eoghan, be assured of our prayers during this journey of discernment! A few books come to mind to start with: "Spiritual Direction according to St. Paul of the Cross" by Fr. Bennet Kelley, CP; "In This Sign" by Fr. Martin Bialas, CP; "As a Seal upon Your Heart," a biography of St. Paul of the Cross by Fr. Paul Francis Spencer, CP; and "At the Cross with Mary" by John Joseph Schweska (this one focuses on St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin).
After those four, if you desire to dive deeper, "The Mysticism of the Passion" by Fr. Martin Bialas, CP, is fantastic. You can find a link to the e-book on our Passionist Saints webpage: www.passionistnuns.org/passionist-saints

@@passionistnuns Thank you so much for your prayers! Unfortunately a lot of these books seem to be out of print but thank you for the suggestions I will keep searching!
I'm in contact with Fr Paul Spencer and he has sent me a copy of his book! I feel extremely drawn to the life of St Paul and the orders focus on the passion. Thank you again for your prayers!
