A beautiful portrayal of our Passionist contemplative vocation, life, and charism. First recorded in 2007, the content of this film is still valid and inspiring today!

Do you have passionate nuns in east Africa. Please answer me. And do you have moments you go home to visit your parents?
Unfortunately we do not have any Passionist Nuns in Africa. Please pray for our growth so that someday we can make a foundation on that continent! Regarding visits home, no, because of our vow of enclosure we do not normally leave the monastery to visit parents (or anyone else). Normally our family comes to visit us at our monastery.
Beautiful, I'm Sr. Bertha Khaula, Malawi, Africa. Let us pray for each other.
So, if a nun has previously gotten a bachelors and/or a master's degree and they have student loans, how is that handled? Do they have to pay them off before going into the monastery or abbey? I guess this goes for any debt.
Yes, that is correct - any debts must be taken care of before entering the monastery. This includes all student loans.
❤❤❤❤
This is the first time I have watched this video about the nuns and the life everyone lives
Wasn't one of the points of Protestantism that people didn’t have to be celibate priests. That god made them to procreate?
Many thanks for sharing your lives with us, Sisters. May God bless you all.
I wanted to be a nun for a long time, but didn't feel God calling me to the vocation, and the more I learn about it the more I realized I would have made a terrible nun! Although it still breaks my heart a bit, God was right (as usual) to lead me away from that path.
Brought back so many memories from the orphanage i grew up in ,thanks be to God.
Do they not do any thing else ? I saw or heard nothing about helping people or any sevices out side ?
God bless you! That's right - we are cloistered contemplative nuns, which means that our "day job" and the way in which we serve the Church and the world is by our prayer and sacrifices on behalf of all. The Passionist Nuns traditionally also welcome others to spend time at the monastery in prayer and silence with us. Our community does this by operating a small retreat house attached to the monastery, although the nuns usually are not directly involved with leading retreats. I hope this helps!
my heart is melting❤❤❤. I can only imitate monastery at home. I have 3 pets. May you all be the light of this world.
God blessYou sist i,m from Bali Indonesia 😊🌷🌷

Wait a minute, I am surprised by something, and I am asking for your answers. How can people and nuns be in one place together? Why are the nuns with people in one place? Shouldn't they be isolated and isolated from people?
God bless you! If you look closely, you can see the "cloister divide" between the nuns and our guests. Cloistered nuns have always celebrated public liturgies, meaning that lay men and women are welcome to worship with us in our chapels, even though the space reserved for the nuns (the enclosure) is always set apart from the public areas. In St. Joseph Monastery's chapel, the nuns' enclosure is set apart by a channel of holy water flowing between the font and the altar - an effective means of separation which also symbolizes what unites us all as baptized Christians. I hope this helps you!
So beautiful ❤
I have an honest question and I hope it is take as such- I know very little about Catholicism and am not particularly religious but have seen a few different videos of nuns/ convents and find it very fascinating. What is the purpose of praying all day? Is it prayers for the people? The video mentions learning, what do they learn about? I assume God but I don’t know what else. I would love to learn some more if anyone can assist
I wait for a spark from god
I pray for wisdom ❤❤❤❤
Congratulations sister!
Prayerful life. However, these women religious don't hold a candle to the prayer, night vigils, self-denial & joy a wife and mother has who is generous and open to life.
I'm not Catholic but I would be honored if they would pray for me over the grief I experience over the loss of my mother.
Very sorry for your loss, God bless
I will pray for you! 💜🙏🌹
I am so very sorry! May God bless you and comfort you in your sorrow. Grief is hard, try to remember the good times and know that she is with you in Spirit.
God bless you
AMEN NUN SISTER

Even though i have lots of respect for catholic nuns having been a convent schoolgirl i dont have any faith in the church as a whole at all anymore
Im not catholic but i think that it would tons of guts and lots of courage to be able to dedicate your whole entire life to god to sacrifice everything for the sake of god it takes a very special person to be a nun,but it takes a woman who is prepared to devote their whole being to god for all eternity but mind you i could never imagine living like they do much less turn my back on the world for the rest of my life
I so admire these nuns giving up everything, marriage, husbands, kids,a home,a career, their own lives, their family,i couldnt do what they do thats why i admire them cos i could never sacrifice what these women have sacrificed to god, they even sacrifice their virgnity to god too a virgin for eternity i could never give up before god what these women have done but i say god bless them
罪深い私の為にも神に祈って下さい😢
Sisters ji half me please 🙏🙏🙏🇮🇳
Beautiful Absolutely beautiful 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
What an important vocation. The Prayers and Mass being said at all times somewhere in the world is what allows for Gods Mercy. Imagine if it stopped? I shutter to think of it. I should have been a Nun the I would have had fruit. Instead I was a Brat. I thank each and every Nun and Priest who have given their lives to God and to us. What a blessing they are to us.
Very true
God keep and bless them. There is nothing so beautiful as a woman who has dedicated her life and more importantly her soul to Jesus Christ.
What were the two sisters doing at 10:03
They are bringing the Blessed Sacrament from the tabernacle in our main chapel to a smaller chapel inside the monastery.
@@passionistnuns thank you.
Why is the Nun, coming into chapel at the beginning of this video, carrying a Mobile phone?
Good question! That mobile phone is what she uses to view our security cameras when we are in chapel. We cannot always hear the doorbell during liturgies, so the cell phone allows us to see if someone is at the door. A modern twist on the ancient monastic office of "portress"!
Could someone please provide where I can find the morning prayer at 2:20 mark please?
