My queen, you are so beautiful. We Africans are more than happy to welcome our brothers and sisters back home. It must have been a long journey living in the U.S. We africans are doing our best to change our continent, after that I am very sure we will support each other in the diaspora. YOU ARE ALWAYS WELCOME HOME brothers. We miss you and we love you.
Heyy 💕💕 Im a 19 year old from Clarksville, Tennessee.. I moved to Africa with my family in 2016, been living here since.. I love it. My story is very similar to yours, so I just HAD to subscribe!! I live in Gambia, and I’ve been documenting my journey here so far, and why we chose to come back to Africa. My aim is to definitely get more African Americans to come here. ❤️❤️ best wishes to you and your journey here in the beautiful motherland. ❤️🇬🇲
Loving you back forever! I'm West African. I know my history. I accept African-American history as part of my heritage as well and I am proud of you all.
+majisty census I am from the bamileke tribe in Cameroon. A pharaoh descendant like you american brother. Our ancestor come from Kemet , Kush , Put and Canaan. Their union was their power. HOTEP
Iam Jamaican and ive made that journey back to Africa twice Gambia and Ghana i felt i owed it to myself as well as my ancestors both experiences was mind blowing and they welcomed me back home with open arms very friendly people. Iam planning to go this year November but may have to fly to Europe or America from Jamaica as their are no direct flights from Jamaica.. Good video BIGUP YUH SELF
AfroAmericaninAfrica Wow I was amazed when I found your channel well I'm African, and I'm from Congo Kinshasa, but I'm currently living in USA I left my country in 2008 and ofcourse I had expectation about America how it will look like, and ofcourse people as well I found out things were apposite going to school as a young Africa teenager in America it was a struggle special when it comes to African-American they were asking me questions about Africa that are so unthinkable some of the questions I didn't have answers to it at some point I realized,it was my job to educate them about my continent, and I have done just that, but I must say that you're amazing to take a trip to Africa experiencing beauty of our motherland I'm proud of you I'm looking forward to go back home soon.
Thank you so much sister!!! I have traveled to Egypt and Ethiopia and my wife and I plan on relocating to Botswana in the next two years. Also a Howard Alumni!
I lived in Africa for 5 years for the first time ( somalia to be exact). I an Somalian but raised in america so i barely knew my culture. There are soooooo many stereotypical ideas of how Africa is. Some people think that Africa in whole is a poor continent. I found my stay amazing!! I plan on going back once I finish my studies here in the US. I am happy you went to Africa and you saw your original land!!
Thanks for sharing! I am an African American woman and I have been living in South Africa for a year now working in a township in the Cape Town area. Africa as a continent is extremely diverse. I live in Cape Town and it is probably more "European-like" in the city center than "African-like". Anyhow, as I travel more it becomes apparent that ALL Americans need to expand their world view. In regards to Africans and African Americans, we must both understand our histories better. We need to understand what is shared and different. I think this is crucial in Africans and African Americans having more self-determination, self respect and self-love.
I've traveled the World and can say Senegal was one of the most beautiful places in the world ..I'm African American and this was my first trip to Africa ..The people were so welcoming don't know how this bs that they don't like african Americans came to light ..And yes I would live there Safer than any major American City ..
+Charles Robinson I can confirm that as an African American brother!! I visited that country 3 years ago and yes that's one the most beautiful places in the world! I hope u did turn up in Almadie or Ahlmadie ( Idk how to spell it right tho ) with those beautiful, natural, fit Senegalese women... I was blown away at some point! Brothers need to go out there even more though because we are so misinformed here in the States smfh...
Daliah Mnazi Yup U ain't lying! But I have a Nigerian friend out here and he told me most of them be acting up when they come over here cause they think we're all ignorant and misinformed that we gonna look down on them like them Caucasians smh...
Let me say.. Thank you for making this vlog, it has brought me peace with my decision to move to Africa. I'm currently looking at moving to Ghana but I will be watching more of your videos about your experiences. By the way your backyard in an apartment complex is breathtaking.. Nameste sister
I lived in Ghana for a while and your like staying. Before you go there make sure you pack the books you love to read and have your Lap Top plus ipad for recording your movements. Your doing the right thing by going to Ghana...
oriolori89 Thats kool, I think you under estimate the level of Afro westerners understanding of Africa, you really do. Roots was our enemies portrayal of Africa not ours, even though it was fronted by Alex, he had no say in its content, they are those who sold our story for 30 pieces of silver i don't support their ideas at all. With regards to Africa being fifty four countries, we as Afro Westerners especially those from the Caribbean end do not recognise the european version of Africa as all the so called nations that exhibit their flags today were created by european, not one black leader made a decision in that dissection or benefited from that dissection. Many of our people look to the European for guidance because of the image of white christ branded on their brains, i am not one of those and don't associate with those kind of thinkers. There are no real Africans today besides those outside Africa and this is not intended to offend, no European could approach real Africans like Hannibal of Tunis, Kwame Nkrumah, Marcus Garvey, Jean-Jacques Dessalines, Zumbi and wife Dandara of Palmares of Brazil et all and convince them to turn their weapons against their own. Black people the world over are living in a state of denial believing they are doing well while they are confined to the prisons of their homes, Nigeria is a beautiful rich country whose wealth is still not filtering to their people, despite a population of close to 200 million they cannot defend themselves against anyone but black nations, are black nations the enemies? what then is the purpose of their army? all African nations are caught in the same illusion. Even the name Africa is of a European, some may say how far do you want to go back, we want to go back to where no european had insulted our great civilisation, only when we make a real commitment to our civilisation can we proclaim the history and dignity of Africa Any one who walks around today speaking of the prowess of an African country has grown to love their oppression and are better returned to the dust. i thank the sister who posted this vid for making great efforts which will, and has already increased awareness among our peoples. Here is where i stand on this is how i'll die!
I have family here in Tanzania and we are working together to build a business in the tourism/hospitality industry. We've spent the past year building our first safari lodge and we actually just finished hosting our first guests and it went well so I'm looking forward to building a website and marketing online for 2016 and beyond. I will definitely start a vlog this year. I couldn't provide a lot of info about job hunting but I would imagine that the demand in Tanzania as well as other African countries would be in the sectors of education. healthcare, and engineering. Outside of well-educated professionals I think it would be more challenging to secure employment but like I said I only really know my own experience and I think possibilities are endless. I do know that my company will be recruiting foreigners to help our business grow and I will be making a video about that later this year. I am really interested in networking so feel free to contact me via email at 881pearlzine@gmail.co. Peace.
OMG thank you so much for making this video and sharing your experience! I am planing to come to Africa, but I don't know where to visit and I hear so many things to where I'm just lost on really what to expect, but I haven't heard enough to stop me from planing on taking a trip there lol...I'm from the states as well, Alabama to be exact...I'm currently overseas as well and it's always been my goal to visit Africa and now that I'm on this side of the world I want to see Africa for myself...you just don't know how grateful I am that you are making videos of your experience in Africa, thank you soo much!
African Americans are welcome to Africa. A continent of +54 countries we are not all wicked or un welcoming,we also have loving people just like the Black American community. Your media is controlled by a small powerfull lobby who are tarnishing our images. Come to Africa visit or settle we need you here to learn our diverses cultures and languages,we need your skills, experiences and knowledge.
Righteous, dear sister and thanks for the video upload. I've traveled to the middle east but never touched down upon the mother continent, though I've planned it for years. I'm hoping that 2019 will give that open, God willing.
that is one thing I would like to do before I die is to be able to put my foot on that continent and feel the sand between my toes and to be able to weep for my ancestors on their native land.
Yolanda, Your word brought tears to eyes, I feel every you utter, your perceptions, your yearnings. I hope your ancestors can see your anguish too. Just do it in your lifetime.
What people need to understand is, if your skin is black, the rest of the world views you as that. It does not matter what continent and country you are from. So all of these different titles or labels, "African','African American','Black','Black American', does not matter to other races. Other nationalities across the world, look at us as one color. So deal with it. I am very proud of my ancestry. No one will ever make me feel ashamed of it. I will forever embrace my culture, race, and heritage as an African American. In America, everyone is an immigrant, expect the different tribes of Indian ancestry. "America" belongs to them. #youarenotreadyfortherealtruth
Trust me if you go to Africa people will love and appreciate you and everyone will wanna be friend with you, you will really have a nice life I promise you that
Thank you! Ironically enough, Senegal is the country in Africa that I'd like to visit the most and at the top of my list!! I think you would enjoy Namibia too and the southern Africa vibe!
This is really exciting to watch. I applaud you for being open minded to experience what it's like to live in Africa. There are many people in the States who will be well-off if they just move out of the country, but not everyone is very open minded to move to Africa or other parts of the world. As a matter of fact, It seems that the immigrants are the ones that are more willing to visit or migrate to other countries
HI super love your channel, I am Namibian residing in tx, and my husband is African American, I will be coming home with my husband and my co-worker on my next vacation. I hope to meet you.
I'm Jamaican and I've been longing to visit any country in Africa for the longest while, especially Ghana and South Africa but I think I'll be equally overjoyed just stepping foot on the continent.
Come in Angola here if u are qualified in Science or Medicine u can get even a job worth more than in USA or other EU countries and if u know a bit of Portuguese or Spanish you won't go back. Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Seychelles, Botswana, South Africa, Namibia, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya (smart people) Uganda...are the best place to visit and for honey moaners or to stay and do business. Eastern DRC was best but a bit of insecurity.
James Akili I've read a little about Angola and I'll be putting it on the list if must see places. I do speak some Spanish. Oh and Kenya too will be going on the list (hope to meet the maasai warriors). Wish I could visit all the countries eventually.
Hey Soffy, am from Kenya currently in US but will be going back to say hello to my mom next year, and I just want to let you know you're highly and warmly welcomed to my beautiful country. You will love it!!! Karibu Sana.
Thank you for sharing such a inviting video about traveling to Africa. More and more of us in the United States are now wanting to leave and live in a land that is more hospitable to african americans. Your video really inspires us. Please continue to upload more videos..Be Blessed
+Jess JayEel Haiti is Africa itself.. Stay there and remain the Ayisien that you are .. Your Vodoo is the same in Benin republic and your Zombie is the same in Togo. Kampe La en Haiti.. paske Haiti bon Ampil.. Don't mind me. Just joking like Sweet Mickie..
+Jess JayEel iF YOU ARE from Pentioville or Kenskorf or Delmas Please hit me up to be my family member in Nigeria.. LOL.. Ou pakab genye problem avek mwen.
Give thanks for sharing Sis! I visit Ghana in 2010 and it was such a amazing LIFE CHANGING experience!!! Everyday I think about the culture, vibration of the land, rich history, etc...beautiful and empowering to say the least. INjoy :)
+malarki5 I know right. This video just brightened up my whole evening. She is absolutely amazing and the very fact that she is just as if not more adventurous than I am, definitely sparks my honest curiosity and attraction. I could not travel to the continent this year. Inshallah I will be making my 3rd visit this coming 2016.
thank you! i was talking to my sis about wanting to move to Africa, and she said she want to come with, and my 22yr old daughter as well said the same thing, i was shocked! so now all i have been doing is gathering info, and thank you i been watching your videos, because Namibia is 1 of the places we are boiling down to considering. you make me feel like this is the place to go visit for future living. Thank you again! i will visit your web page.
I'm an African American I must say that for years I was mad at Africans for what I was taught, their role in the African slave trade. I was so angry that when a woman from the islands along with a white woman who said that" she was from South Africa" I damn neared exploded on both of them for two reasons #1 I was mad at the island woman for bringing this white woman who said that "she was from South Africa" a place where my African brothers and sisters has and still is suffering because of their (white people) presence #2 it brought back what I thought was betrayal for their (Africans) role in the slave trade. That really, really hurts, because the slave trade forced my ancestors to take on an unwanted identity not to mention it star burst us through out the world. Not knowing what happened to one another. This action destroyed communities not mention our identities; it has drown a wedge between our people. When you participate on any level the selling of your people, you make your race weak. I said that I was mad at the Africans, never once did I say that I don't love you all and that I don't want the best for you because I really do. When I pray I will be praying for unity among us. Ps, beautiful video!
Thank you for your leadership, courage, and respect for our culture and roots. For a 29yo Afam female from NY, you are true trailblazer. Thank you. I am proud to know that a lot of African American are starting to move, invest, and even work on the continent. Thanks... looking forward to sharing your video with others. I am headed to Africa this year. Thanks
I'm from africa but I'm going back to africa.. living in australia is hell.. racism literally everywhere, people calling me names and laughing n giggling as i walk past... its just too much for me to handle
Nocy Dee dont.. especially if u black with dark brown skin like naomi campbell.. i grew up in the UK and not once was i dehumanised in this manner (in the uk, they love black women and treat them with respect but Australia sees us as trash no matter how good u look).. it can eventually affect ur mental state- its just too much to handle
Keep your head up, and persevere, when your spirit is ready, you'll be home bound. Certainly, you have experienced how being among these folks done to psyche.... Some of us would be tokenism yet feels the anguish of the disease call Racism. Stay healthy and alive
Hi! I'm a new subscriber. My South African husband (Also, a Howard graduate) showed me your channel after we discussed making a permanent move to South Africa. I've visited before so I'm very excited but also very nervous. I'm African American and I was raised in the Mid-West so this is going to be a big change. I really appreciate you "filling in the void" of information! Your experiences are really helping me. Thank you!
No he didn't "told" me that his ancestry is responsible for mine "being a Slavery" LOL But thank goodness an internet troll finally told me so I can end my 10 year relationship with my amazing husband and father of my beautiful baby.....NOT!
I totally agree it won't be long and I know the feeling of being around our people and feeling the commonality of acceptance and love is truly a beautiful thing
Thanks to this sister, who can atleast travel and know the world doesnt end in America. Africa is big, great and fun to live in. Some places are more developed than so many countries in Europe. The Media only show the world, some African countries that just finished war, or people in the ghetto and make Africa look a country or poor. Visit Nigeria, states like Abuja, Calabar, Some places in Lagos. Other countries like Gabon is sweet, Ghana, SA, U will Enjoy it. As an African, we love African Americans and Carribeans but some of them who comes close to us to show nasty altitude or latest version of black, we dont hesitate to reduce them to nothing in our way. Feel free, visit and be nice to people, we all are one, no matter the location.
This is very nice. I am a Namibian and I enjoyed watching your clip. I have always wondered whether African American people would be comfortable living in Namibia because our country is pretty laid back and there's not much happening. Your video clip was a good start because African Americans are our people and it is important that we receive them and make them feel at home because this is where your roots are. I hope we get more of you guys to come and visit so we can get to know you better.
The Americans & Europeans portray Africa as a desolate & hopeless continent but they are very wrong, even those who had the opportunity to visit Africa can't share their experiences. By the way Africa is a continent not a country and there are countries whose standard of living is great, Botswana, South Africa, Namibia for example. Visit Africa & see the lies of the western media
It must be noted that while Americans and Europeans portray Africa as desolate and hopeless, they are keen to try and grab every piece of it that they can. If our leaders were not vigilant, we would be right back where we started during the waning years of colonialism. They speak of Africa as being hopeless with their eyes on the prize!
it is a part of the Western (and other) Media, especially the left wing eco(logy)-socialists ones, who likes to sell Africa as poor to instrumental it for their ideology ...
Judy. True that. We have our own fair share of problems and we need to work hard to ensure that we have a future that is secured. First, let's look at how we strengthen our democracies and human rights before anything. We have a long way to go and to an extent have little political will to transform Africa into what we all will be proud of.
We are ready to welcome and receive our brothers and sisters back to Africa. We are happy the number is increasing now, especially in west Africa. In the next 10 years lots of Africans will be returning to the motherland.
Great I'm glad you're loving Africa and keep up with the natural hair black women need to save money for their children future not to buy some hair growing up in Africa I saw my sisters and friends having natural hair but for some reason some where in 1996 all that change people start buying fake hair I really believe that true beauty have to be all real nothing fake meaning that women have to be proud of themselves and love what God gave to black women all around the world there was a time black women having big thick lips was bad now everyone who are not black pumping in their lips
Great Video! I'm African American, and am very proud to be African. I cant wait to get there, I would like to go to Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon area...and travel the rest of the continent
Your so right Africa is A beautiful place. I saw it with my own two eyes last year. And i plan to visit again this year. Thanks for spreading life on our native country. You rock!
I can't thank you enough sister. I am a Ghanaian American (moved to USA) in 2008. It's a hard work trying to explain to brothers/sisters here what Africa is. I think Americans of African descent should visit the continent in their life time. Ghana has a diasporan commission that is ready to help. I was a tour guide in Ghana for 15 yrs and ready to offer advice for those who are interested in visiting Ghana. Enjoy Namibia and thanks for the good job.
Thank you oriolori89 for your advice. I am building a site, just taking a bit of time but will get there. I was a tour guide in Ghana for 15 years before relocating so I can see and understand things from the Ghanaian and western perspective. I have started in a small way by doing kente weaving demonstration in schools, museums, and with interested associations. will keep you guys posted when the site is fully operational.
Hi am Kenyan from East Africa and recently immigrated to the US and I want to thank you for shedding light on the need to travel beyond the Atlantic...and your right a whole lot goes on there, make a trip to East Africa one day!!
So nice to stumble on your channel my beautiful sister, and when I say beautiful I really do mean that. My family and I was in Namibia 2012-2013 for a couple of months and it was a wonderful experience. My wife is African American but her father is from Namibia and lived in Philly. So we visited her family - man - the welcome was overwhelming. We were treated like royalty. Egypt was awesome in terms of the historical experience, but Namibia was a social gala. My wife had been to Namibia several times but this was my first time, I can't find the words, so to trivialize it, I will say it was wonderfully great. We stayed in Rocky Crest in Windhoek but drove all over - Etosha, Swakopmund, visited lots of family in Katutura. I was supposed to go to Botswana and Zimbabwe but it did not work out this time. I am so excited to say more but I will contain myself. Enjoy yourself my sister. By now you may be speaking Damara - joking.
i love my African American bothers and sisters Africa is not what you think what ever you see in America is what we have in terms of infrastructures but what you are going through as black people in America can never ever happen in any part of Africa im talking about police killings (concerned Zambian)
Keenan Wade my brother im talking about being killed by people who are suppose to protect you as a citizen of that nation in short you have no were to run to for protection in that nation Keenan Wade
TO MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS ON THIS POST FROM THE HOMELAND, PLEASE DONT LET THE ACTIONS OF A FEW AMERICAN BROTHERS DISTORT YOUR IMAGE OF ALL OF US BLACK AMERICANS... CUZ WE ARE NOT ALL.THE SAME....SPEAKING FOR MYSELF I GOT NOTHING BUT LOVE AND RESPECT FOR "MAMA AFRICA" AND THE NATIVE AFRICANS... IM ACTUALLY QUITE JEALOUS CUZ YALL KNOW WHAT ITS LIKE AND I DONT... ( LOL) NAH BUT FOR REAL I SALUTE YOU ALL... I WANT TO SEE ALL OF AFRICA UNITE WORLDWIDE AND TAKE BACK OUR HOMELAND... TRUST ME, THE SMART AFRO AMERICANS OVER HERE KNOW THAT AMERICA IS NOT THE PLACE FOR ANY BLACK MAN OF COLOR NO MATTER WHAT YOU SEE YOURSELF AS...BUT WE CAN NOT AFFORD TO BE DIVIDED AS A BLACK NATION ANYMORE... WE HAVE TO RISE UP AND UNITE AS ONE AND RECLAIM OUR GREATNESS.... I LEAVE HOW I CAME... WITH PEACE AND LOVE...
Hi, I'm an African, from Equatorial Guinea; I glad to to know that there are at least some African American people who have travelled to Africa in order to work or to know more about African culture and on the other hand I congratulate you sharing your experience in Africa with us here.
Welcome home Sister Thank You for This , Africa will rise if we all work together, we need each other the land is blessed with resources we just need to wake up, to strengthen our union this land is belong to all blacks. Your brother from Mali
Lakeya B Just save your money! The ticket is expensive, but once you get there, everything is DIRT cheap! Meals for $3 kinda cheap. You are missing out foreal. Going to Africa when I was 18, took me out of this thug mentality that I used to have. Africa saved my life!
Lakeya B Thats BS. You just have to search for yourself. Forget what America shows you on the TV, you have the power to search & see all of this for yourself. My mother is an African researcher at the LOC. Her family moved to Liberia for several years when she was young. Shes been traveling back and forth ever since. Alot of her friends & associates do to. The info is out there, just as long as you put into the effort to look for it. For example, i have some chicken that needs to be cooked. I could just go to KFC or Popeyes, because its in my face, and I see commercials for it all the time. But I do a little research, and now I know how to cook it myself, in several different ways. Americas not stopping you or masking anything. You can do it all yourself. And once you get over there you wont want to come back. Trust me.
I'm so glad I found you!! I'm AA and I have lived in Morocco (4 yrs) and Tanzania (1 yr). I have traveled in other African countries as well as Central and South America, Canada, Europe and New Zealand. In September I'm moving to Uganda for work.
thank you very much my sistah. thank you so much for this video. i'm an African guy fom Congo, i lived in Paris and now i am in America. i've lived in New York for almost a year and i am now in a small town of Ohio state. I was also told that African American didn't like Africans, but since i've been here, i must say that i had a good experience with them. i even feel close to them, i really don't know why people say those things. we are brothers and sisters, we are almost the same, we have a lot of things in common and i never knew until i came here. i am happy that you are happy in Africa. that's where we all belong
This is a great video. very honest and purposeful. Also you sweet heart, you look great, you are very welcome, have fun,and whenever you get the chance, visit other countries in the continent. As and African living in NY, i still miss home so much though exposed to everything any American is exposed to. continues to share your experience to other brothers and sister over here, for they may get it better when someone like you tell them than someone like me. Good job
Congratulations my sister on your successful journey. I appreciate the time you've taken to do this video and I hope to see more now that I have subscribed. Because I am not currently a degreed Afro-American woman, but I have certificates in healthcare (clinical and technical). I've been through alot of the things Afro-American women go through, children, divorces, etc.. But, I still have such a desire till I'm researching and planning to live my empty nest side of life in some part of Africa in about 6 years, being that my youngest will be a high school graduate that time and I will be freeeee. So little sister, my question is: Should I save thousands of dollars to live in retirement there or what can a then 45 year old without a degree do in Africa? Or I guess I should be asking what the means for finding work are to live comfortably in Africa. Again, I so appreciate your video and this platform in progress. It's Time.
YESSS!!!! Thank you for making this video! I am interested in visiting and eventually relocating to a country in Africa. Please continue to share your experiences!!
hmm nice try. Somalia are some of the most racist people... I'm Somali and anytime i saw African American back home they would relentlessly make fun of their kinky hair and wide noses.
***** I bet you would... pretty sure Somalis have business part covered we won't let an AA ake money off us... lol We run South Africa in business practically
Are you insane? Your not even Somali but a troll trying to cause division between us blacks.. answer this if your somali: abaayo sawirkaga ma kan ku saran miya? Hadad soomali tahay cadey ha ila murmin ee wiil oo walalkaga ayn ahay. hadad rabto ananconda ana ku heyo mid sida oo dameerka oo kale... kkkk.... balan waayo inaan qeylo ka keno tasi igu amin raxada inu kaga badbato... ;)
Don't let the media tell you its unsafe, infact, its the safest it can be. I'm looking for a business partner to invest with if you are interested please notify me sir. I have a business registered with the state of minnesota.
***** Hahaha OMG r u for real?!! Waryaa Angela Anaconda waa magaac inaan cartoon an dawaan chireey. 1. Your honestly pathetic 2. My pic shouldn't concern you. 3. I doubt your as well endowed as my man, commenting on shit that doesn't concern you... Marka iska amoos doqoon yahow. Kkkk
Thank you so much for sharing your videos!! I went to Cairo, Egypt in 2005 and in 2013 I went to Kinshasa, DR Congo for 2 months. Stay strong and positive! I wish you all the best!!
Your to beautiful. Btw blacks are to brainwashed to believe what the white men say bad about their country but wants us to love theirs. I grew up being afraid of Africa because what I seen on TV, but as I grew into my mature age I started researching & I really want to come out to Africa & be with my people, especially go to johhesburg, South Africa, which is a very very beautful place.
Thank you so very much Erica Jones!! It is wonderful that you are in the place that you are and share perspectives and experiences that I do not see at all here in good ol America! Thank you!
Hi I was watching your video and I am a Egyptian and a African descending I would like to know how it is living in Africa but I will find out soon for myself I'm going to visit the western parts of Africa anyway and I hope that my experience will be very nice cause after my visit I plan to start writing my life story for the world to know about me and my family.
So happy to find your video. I just returned from Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya & Ghana) as a trainer for social workers. I am a child advocate worldwide. My hub and I have toyed with the idea of brining our children back with us to stay for 6-12 months (or longer). Ethiopia has my heart and won't give it back! I love the culture, the people, the land and everything about it! It felt like home :)
I am very inspire by your post. I am from Jamaica. I will be moving to West Africa in June 2016. To Dakar Senegal . I am also have a youtube channel. Ashney Delpachio
A friend of mine shared your blog post /article about raising your son, and I must say I enjoyed reading it immensely . I didn't know you actually add a baby as I have visited your RUclips channel in almost a year!
hey sister I `m so glad that you are telling finally something that describes Africa ....wait until you visit Senegal and you will learn about our teranga ( hospitality) please feel free to contact me for more tips
I think it's great that you have created this channel. However, one suggestion: don't confuse these people. The majority of Americans already think that Africa is a country. So when you are talking about your life there, remain specific in the "Life as an African-American in Namibia" sense. You want to educate people and remove them out of the "Africa is a country" mentality. Again, I love your channel and I think what you are doing is very helpful to those who have not yet been to the continent.
I am an African male living in US for the last 25 years. Africans in the continent of Africa are not difficult people to live with. We welcome anyone with open arms and we were abused (by Europe)... Some places in Africa are dangerous to foreigners, you just need to be informed about it and plan your way. The French speaking countries seem to be easier than English ones ( my opinion of course). When you go to Africa try to blend in...people are generally nice. Several decades ago we welcomed the Lebanese refugees...now they blended with our people so much that you can even recognize them. Many of them did not return to their country. Africa has been good to many. No fear of going to Africa to live.
1) you're pretty 2) my brother goes to Howard, my HBCU is TSU 3) how's the winter there? 4) do you know any programs that involves jobs like yours outside U.S.? 5)....you're very beautiful :-)
Thanks! And *smile* at the HBCU connection! The winter is highs in the 70s and lows in the 30s. It is during the American summer. WorldTeach is the organization that I originally came here with. They're a great org.
Love what you are doing. Im from Nigerian but lived most of my life in the the USA. I've spent a lot of time in South Africa and totally agree with everything you have to say. Such a wonderful experience that more Black Americans should explore
Thanks for the info... I looked into world teach and am seriously considering the move. America is on the verge of collapse and i want to establish myself there so i can move my family in a few years...
I've been searching for over two months now for some sort of footage of AA or people from the islands living in Africa (outside of South Africa the country). I'm very happy to find your video. I hope you make more. I hope in the future to see more African Americans making videos like this. I hope you are enjoying your stay.
Africa sounds decent but I love America too much to go I don't care who runs the US because they don't have the power to control me or the laws or state. I have a great living life here, anyone who wants to leave is more than welcome to leave, but for me it's a no since all my family is here and we are happy because we live in a very diverse neighborhood and want unity instead of walking away from the problem. 🇺🇸🇺🇸 I would love to visit though I'm sure it's beautiful
We miss you and we love you.
milenu milena thank you
milenu milena - Thank You.
Since 2013 already 😄 wow
Heyy 💕💕 Im a 19 year old from Clarksville, Tennessee.. I moved to Africa with my family in 2016, been living here since.. I love it. My story is very similar to yours, so I just HAD to subscribe!! I live in Gambia, and I’ve been documenting my journey here so far, and why we chose to come back to Africa. My aim is to definitely get more African Americans to come here. ❤️❤️ best wishes to you and your journey here in the beautiful motherland. ❤️🇬🇲
im an black american that loves black africans all over africa !.....

Loving you back forever!
I'm West African. I know my history. I accept African-American history as part of my heritage as well and I am proud of you all.
The Bantu A Nilote supporting the movement
+majisty census I am from the bamileke tribe in Cameroon. A pharaoh descendant like you american brother. Our ancestor come from Kemet , Kush , Put and Canaan. Their union was their power. HOTEP
Living in Rwanda, after 21 years! Im sharing my stories as i go along.

Iam Jamaican and ive made that journey back to Africa twice Gambia and Ghana i felt i owed it to myself as well as my ancestors both experiences was mind blowing and they welcomed me back home with open arms very friendly people. I'm African, who is living in the United States, and i really proud of YOU!!...keep it up!
Thank you so much, appreciate it!
You Are very welcome sweet heart.....Enjoy,...
Melinda Kalenga is it an expensive trip to travel to africa?
Thank you so much sister!!! I have traveled to Egypt and Ethiopia and my wife and I plan on relocating to Botswana in the next two years. Also a Howard Alumni!
Thank you so much for the encouraging words. Botswana seems like such a wonderful place. Hows the educational system? I'm a teacher.
HU!
Hahaha...very true...I taught in Japan and China.very different from America.
I'm not African, but I love Africa and the African people. God Bless You.
Everyone is African
I believe so.
we love you too
Ur welcomed
Brothers need to go out there even more though because we are so misinformed here in the States smfh...
there are welcoming to any foreigners even Asians and Europeans. Its the ones that leave in the US that don't like AAs.
+Daliah Mnazi live*
Daliah Mnazi Yup U ain't lying! But I have a Nigerian friend out here and he told me most of them be acting up when they come over here cause they think we're all ignorant and misinformed that we gonna look down on them like them Caucasians smh...
Sister. You are so beautiful.
You are contributing to the Unification of Africans all over the world.
God bless you Sister.
Your doing the right thing by going to Ghana...
oriolori89 so you've been to the west?
oriolori89 we should meet for coffee, maybe we could learn from each other
oriolori89 Thats kool, I think you under estimate the level of Afro westerners understanding of Africa, you really do.
Well......did you get to Africa?
Thank you! I moved to Tanzania 1 year ago and I'll be vlogging in 2016.
+Karim Mustafa That's so exciting! I would love to follow your vlog, please share when you start posting!
+Karim Mustafa What is your website?
+Karim Mustafa How did you move to tanzania? how did you get a job ? like what happens besides saving up for a plan ticket.
Peace.
+Karim Mustafa Awesome sounds fun
Gurly Bird me too Beautiful
What people need to understand is, if your skin is black, the rest of the world views you as that. It does not matter what continent and country you are from. So all of these different titles or labels, "African','African American','Black','Black American', does not matter to other races. Other nationalities across the world, look at us as one color. So deal with it. I am very proud of my ancestry. No one will ever make me feel ashamed of it. I will forever embrace my culture, race, and heritage as an African American. In America, everyone is an immigrant, expect the different tribes of Indian ancestry. "America" belongs to them. #youarenotreadyfortherealtruth
Do you have an email?
Our common ancestor was born in Ethiopia, so the cradle of humankind is the African continent.
Mandy G I wish some africain Américain could think as u and see themselves as africain too.
I want to leave America and live there in africa I'm excited I want to go home
+bahamaboy25 ghana
+Ama Danquah I will love to go visit some day soon
Trust me if you go to Africa people will love and appreciate you and everyone will wanna be friend with you, you will really have a nice life I promise you that
Ese Callum no, only when you held a job
both public and private sector, except when you did your own business
Sulayman Jallow That's so true.
Thank you! Ironically enough, Senegal is the country in Africa that I'd like to visit the most and at the top of my list!! I think you would enjoy Namibia too and the southern Africa vibe!
My want to move and reside in Africa so bad. I can't do this any more. Thank you sister for the video.
+Joseph Wilder aww brother, come back home:)
Africa Is The Future; I Have Said It, Before And Will Say It Again
That's for sure! Africa is definitely the future!☺✌👍
not if the Chinese are investing their d money and buying - owning everything in Africa.
do not blame the chinese...who is allowing this change??
??? YOUR GOVERNMENT
55653344roses Roses do not blame the chinese...who is allowing this change??

+Kai Khader these idiots are not my government. So sorry for the African people. The African politicians are so bloody corrupted.
HI super love your channel, I am Namibian residing in tx, and my husband is African American, I will be coming home with my husband and my co-worker on my next vacation. I hope to meet you.
here is my email address tucklytac@yahoo.com
Wish I could visit all the countries eventually.
soffy2002 yeah am from Kenya but studying in the u.s.Kenya is cool especially for vacations u r welcome!
Hey Soffy, am from Kenya currently in US but will be going back to say hello to my mom next year, and I just want to let you know you're highly and warmly welcomed to my beautiful country. You will love it!!! Karibu Sana.
And if you need any information I will be glad to help you. Thanks
Thank you for sharing such a inviting video about traveling to Africa. More and more of us in the United States are now wanting to leave and live in a land that is more hospitable to african americans. Your video really inspires us. Please continue to upload more videos..Be Blessed

This sister is sooooo gorgeous!
+malarki5 Wow, thanks so much!
Just keeping it real...real honest!
AfroAmericaninAfrica
Just keeping it real...real honest!
I was born and raised in Chicago. I have always wanted to live in Africa. I am hoping to come when I finish my degree. Enjoying your channel.
You are so lucky. I want to visit Mother Africa one day. I love my beautiful black people so much.
thank you! i was talking to my sis about wanting to move to Africa, and she said she want to come with, and my 22yr old daughter as well said the same thing, i was shocked! so now all i have been doing is gathering info, and thank you i been watching your videos, because Namibia is 1 of the places we are boiling down to considering. you make me feel like this is the place to go visit for future living.
Nocy Dee do u live in rome? i heard there is a large group of ghanians in there
+daric nd lool you got jokes funny hahaha lool i think you need to re think about that one hahaha
Keep your head up, and persevere, when your spirit is ready, you'll be home bound.
Certainly, you have experienced how being among these folks done to psyche.... Some of us would be tokenism yet feels the anguish of the disease call Racism.
Stay healthy and alive
Bro that true Australia is more racist especially here in Townsville
+Desaray Mnyandu That is so funny!!!!!!!
I wish I had the money to move to Africa! I'm ready to go home, even though I've never been.
u are welcome home
+legend goku Thank you! I'm trying to get there!
I'm gung ho ready to move to africa....I be looking at Africans who move here to the states like bruh why you come here to this bum country
+neanam m Go brother!, lets bridge the gap and open up positive dialog.
Im about to shoot to Africa soon...subject not come back...well come back to knock up a few hunnit bands....but i'll leave right back
I totally agree it won't be long and I know the feeling of being around our people and feeling the commonality of acceptance and love is truly a beautiful thing
Thank you for your channel, sister. I needed this. I am thoroughly research my move in the next 3-5 years. You are both beautiful and intelligent.
You are educated ........ The difference is clear!
AfroAmericaninAfrica, like the name you chose, nice to watch our people embrace our heritages. Much love from somebody like you.....
Thank you!
I love this. African americans are just diaspora africans with mixture.
Thanks for the kind words, I'm so tired of America
im glad you told us this
Keenan Wade my brother im talking about being killed by people who are suppose to protect you as a citizen of that nation in short you have no were to run to for protection in that nation
Keenan Wade
i really want to know what its like at home please tell me im young
Congrats I am very happy that you created this post! I look forward to more!
I would like to visit Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Ghana. I have friends from these countries.

THANK YOU!! Wonderful comment!
I am glad you had or still having fun in Nam. Enjoy your stay, I am from Namibia, currently in the Midwest experiencing bitter winter.
I knew it! I would love to go to Africa. I knew it was a cover up of how Beautiful Africa is....
+Lakeya B Its awesome! Been there 3 times!
caveman_35seven see I love that. I want to go. Any suggestions? I want to see what I'm missing.
Lakeya B Just save your money! The ticket is expensive, but once you get there, everything is DIRT cheap! Meals for $3 kinda cheap. You are missing out foreal. Going to Africa when I was 18, took me out of this thug mentality that I used to have. Africa saved my life!
caveman_35seven I can tell it's more than just what we hear because I'm noticing America cover up a lot if what they don't want us to see
Lakeya B Thats BS.
Love the message. We need to go back to our Roots. To help make Africa a better place for all races, but mainly us......
A subscriber sent me here and I'm glad they did. Please keep posting! I'm going back to Korea but looking forward to going to Africa in the future!
thank you very much my sistah. thank you so much for this video. i'm an African guy fom Congo, i lived in Paris and now i am in America. i've lived in New York for almost a year and i am now in a small town of Ohio state.
Nice am namibian myself and live in windhoek, great to see you are exposing so much to your people, i'ma stay tuned into your channel ;)
Good job
I watch this video at least twice a day for ASMR therapy. .. So relaxing
I'm a native of Somalia and we welcome AA's with our open arms and hearts. Come to East Africa, Ethiopia, Somalia, & Kenya.
hmm nice try.
Your not even Somali but a troll trying to cause division between us blacks.. answer this if your somali:

Your to beautiful. Btw blacks are to brainwashed to believe what the white men say bad about their country but wants us to love theirs. I grew up being afraid of Africa because what I seen on TV, but as I grew into my mature age I started researching & I really want to come out to Africa & be with my people, especially go to johhesburg, South Africa, which is a very very beautful place.
Thank you so very much Erica Jones!! It is wonderful that you are in the place that you are and share perspectives and experiences that I do not see at all here in good ol America! Thank you!

AFRICA for its people for its diversity for its natural beauty. But most of all for its heart.
Thanks so much for continuing to follow, appreciate it!
Blacks Without Boarders is an excellent documentary regarding Africans living in America. It is right here on youtube.... check it out.....
Thank you for your comment, it was interesting to read about your background and perspective! Yes, the experience/reception varies widely.
hey sister I `m so glad that you are telling finally something that describes Africa ....wait until you visit Senegal and you will learn about our teranga ( hospitality) please feel free to contact me for more tips
Yes, Senegal is at the top of my list, I can't wait to visit!!
Excellent, thank you for the support! Next video should be out by Sunday March 10
Completely agree! Thank you for the support : )
Thank you for your insight. It is admirable that you have taken a leap of faith. May your experiences be joyous!
More power to ya! You are very brave.
What does that even mean you are very brave? He's probably a Mexican who thinks he's white.
Nothing to be brave about. I think she is more wise than brave
Thank you for the lovely video.
Africa seems like a wonderful place.
1) you're pretty
2) my brother goes to Howard, my HBCU is TSU
3) how's the winter there?
🇺🇸🇺🇸 I would love to visit though I'm sure it's beautiful
wow am so glad to hear someone speak good of my country.
