As a cashier at Walmart, I feel the very same way. We all may wear different uniforms but we are all heros. Oh, damn. There's another kid vomiting in frozen foods, the third today. I gotta get my weapon (my mop) and move out.
Fuck yes, brother. As much as I make fun of the Marines I honestly have nothing but respect for you and all my brothers in the Marines. Sincerely, a 68W
This is the type of cross-branch training I like seeing within the US Military. Very positive video between the cross training practices of the US Army and US Marine Corps. I was involved in similar training as a US Army soldier. We in fact had a US Marines instructor during our training when I was a soldier; very professional and to the point NCO.
as a marine im glad someone posted our brothers working together and comparing tactics. We could use more of this positive reinforcement as opposed to who is better. Wake up haters, we all wear the uniform as grunts and fight on same side...hoorah my marines and hooah army brothers
Has a army soldier I feel like I can relate with the marine veterans more, then with the navy, Air Force or coast guard, maybe we both can rip on Space Force together, lol,
Looking back at my time in the army i related most to the marines i met than any of the others we do the same job with the same risks grunts for life and i thank every marine for standing beside me and hope they appreciate me beside them we all bleed green
Nice to see one of My Marine Corps Brothers Swapping with a Soldier to see what he can take from and add to our Brothers in Benning and so forth. Armed Services is what its about. I'm a Proud Marine and we'll always have our Rivalry but these Stories make me Proud to be a Veteran!
You said it right there. I was Army, and I knew some low-speed unmotivated arses from the Marines. I knew plenty of unmotivated cake holes in the Army as well. Mutual respect between the 2 branches, and knowing that every barrel has some bad apples keeps things going. Semper Fi and Always Forward sir.
As somebody who went through pre-OCS qualifications for both the marines and army (I was a little indecisive in college), I tell people all the time: the Marine drill instructors are more intense but once you adjust its pretty easy, army drill sergeants are much better teachers and overall you get a lot more out of the training. Maybe that was just my experience but I personally thought the army method was more effective. However I respect every single service member, regardless of branch!
Unlike the army, the marine corp has at least 6 months worth of training. The 3 months of boot camp, you Dont need a mentor. You need someone that changes you. Instills discipline. We get the mentorship after at soi and MOS school. The army only has 8 weeks of training.. Thats why its different.
Not Army Infantry. You have 14 weeks OSUT then go to your unit where your training never stops. In the Army Infantry they teach you the bare minimum at OSUT and all the rest at your unit. Do more research before generalizing the Army.
+Gabriel Lowe thank you..lol all the marines man..all they know how to do is troll..and brag about how hard their boot camp is..When in reality that shit doesn't even matter once you get to your unit or fleet
I am seriously always taking back by Marines, they work so freaking hard. If there's any branch that I admire as a potential Army Officer recruit it's the Marines hands down. I've known a couple and they're all extremely intelligent and always working their butt offs. Love it!
I miss Ft. Benning and seeing how disciplined the 11B guys are, moving as one coherent unit, as opposed to being a bunch of individuals with attitude and ego problems.
As an 0311 I would've love to learn how the army infantry does grunt stuff. I love, respect and grateful to all the services 🇺🇸 God bless you all and thank you for keeping me safe and free!
One of the differences I have noticed a while back is that the Army has unit oriented pride and the (such as 101st airborne, 82nd airborne, 10th cav. regiment, etc.) the Marines usually have pride no matter what just because they are in the Marines, I suspect because all of their hype.
Because you do not understand the concept of a MEU (Marine Expeditionary Unit) The USMC is the only branch that is forward deployed 365/24/7 as a complete unit capable of sustaining war all by itself for about a month. These Marine units travel on ships with all the war fighting gear including Air Wing jet fighters, tankss, artillery and all the other elements of combat all as ONE MEU. These units are not just on stand-by, and are spread out throughout the world's hot spots ready for action. No other branch can make this claim. The funny thing is this one MEU could take on 3/4 of the world's individual country's military and win. Its not about hype, that is the mission of the USMC. There is individual unit pride especially in the grunt units but Marines have to work as a team, their mission depends on it. Most soldiers I have met think the USMC is just a "second Army" and do not understand the different missions of the two branches.
LOL. The Marines have basically 222,000 personnel divided into three active duty divisions, and one reserve division, hence a "Corps." The U.S. Army is about three times the size of the Marines with 1.2 Million personnel overall.
After serving in both branches, I can say that there is a big difference between the two branches. Marines are trained since boot camp to become numb to emotions and be very aggressive in nature. The Army leans more towards what Marines consider a "civilian" mindset, focusing on integration with society. My understanding of why both branches take their separate approach is based on branch size, mission and history. All branches have there purpose and one without the other only weakens our ability to when wars.
Our combat mission in Germany, was to be artillery support for a German panzer unit. I would go with this unit every time they would go to the field for training. Me and one other American in my unit were added as members to two tank crews as loaders in the Leopard 1. That was the best time I ever had (other than desert storm). Greatest memories of my life.
I was stationed in Germany a number of years ago and spent one evening firing german military weapons on their range. They're really cool people. One of their platoon leaders spoke really good English. He was really down-to-earth. I was not a combat MOS or anything like that but I admit that was pretty fun. Although the real reason a few soldiers from our unit was sent there was a form of punishment. I just arrived to my Germany unit and I made a few minor mistakes (proper uniform appearance and stuff like that). There's that underlying way the US Military really works.
To see a Marine Combat Instructor cross training with Army Drill Sergeants at Fort Benning, Georgia, is great. And in turn, Army Drill Sergeants are at MCB Camp Lejune, North Carolina, with Marines is just as great, imparting that Infantry knowledge. " As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another". Ooh Rah and Hooah!!🇺🇸🦅🗽💥🔫
America was not built on fear. America was built on courage, on imagination and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand. I love you all guys ,,and may God bless you all Amen😘😘🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
The 3rd Infantry Division, 10th Mountain, 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions, XVIII Airborne Corps Artillery, the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment, the 108th Air Defense Artillery, the 18th Aviation Brigade, and the 229th Aviation Regiment are all attached to the XVIII Airborne Corps (among many more support brigades) and it consists of approximately 88,000 soldiers that can all be deployed within 18 hours of notice
The attack on the city was assigned to the I Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF). With the city cordoned off, efforts were made to suggest that the Coalition attack would come from the south and southeast as had occurred in April. Instead, I MEF intended to assault the city from the north across its entire breadth. On November 6, Regimental Combat Team 1, consisting of the 3rd Battalion/1st Marines, 3rd Battalion/5th Marines, and the US Army's 2nd Battalion/7th Cavalry, moved into position to assault the western half of Fallujah from the north. They were joined by Regimental Combat Team 7, made up of the 1st Battalion/8th Marines, 1st Battalion/3th Marines, and the US Army's 2nd Battalion/2nd Infantry which would attack the eastern part of the city. These units were joined by Iraqi troops as well. With Fallujah sealed, operations began on at 7:00 PM on November 7, when Task Force Wolfpack moved to take objectives on the west bank of the Euphrates River opposite Fallujah. While Iraqi commandoes captured Fallujah General Hospital, Marines secured the two bridges over the river to cut off any enemy retreat from the city
Really great video! I do not get into those pissing contests of who is better between the five forces in the American military. I have the utmost respect for them all and I am very grateful to God that the United States is blessed to have the most amazing service men and women in the world.
Well its about time. Good to see both teams working together to help those new boots get their shit together. Hope to see more of this in the near future! Like it was stated, both sides can learn from each other.
Great team work. Thank you for serving "OUR" Country with such dedication and Honor of being the Best in the World. Keeping our children, friends, wives and husbands safe, and offering them the tools to make it back home. God Bless you all with happiness and Joy.
Being from Guam most of the guys here go to the military and ARMY and Marines are the top choices. Some members went Infantry, RANGERS, SF some went RECON and some SEALS. These guys are friends and family, they are all A type personalities and honestly they all could have did one or the other. We all do jujitsu and the RANGER won. We are individuals it's really stupid to compare. Make fun but don't take it serious. FYI, if you have a U.S. flag patch on your shoulder your my brother.
If anyone ever gets the chance ask someone who has done both. I asked an army drill sergeant who started their military career as a marine what was the differences and if someone was "better" who was it. His response was the army learns land navigation just a bit better. The army also has a slightly better chain of command when it comes to the passing of information from higher levels to lower levels. So any army private knows whats going one and can step up to accomplish the mission...
America was not built on fear. America was built on courage, on imagination and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand.I love you all guys, and may God bless you all Amen🙏🙌and bless us all and especially bless the united States of America. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙌🙏😘😘
I always made sure I outperformed any marine physically in Airborne school because they had that they're in better shape than anyone attitude. The Navy guys were hilarious though they always had me cracking up lol
cross-training among branches simply makes us stronger. the strength of the pack is the wolf, the strength of the wolf is the pack. and the US military is a mighty pack.
I worked with some Army Rangers during Operation Urgent Fury. They were extremely professional and executed mission plans with precision. I think this is a healthy program being run with regard to interchanging of Service Members. Semper Fidelis 83-89
I like how the Army and Marines swap Drill Sergeants and Combat Instructors and each one gets along with the other instead of disrespect for each other. Anyone who is the US Military whether it be Army Marines Navy or Air Force they're all brothers in the end.
I'm sure that's been done before in the past.. but now with the instant access to information that we have I'm sure that they're going to do that again at another cycle. We'll just be able to see it from Benn TV on RUclips.
it was hard for me to decide which branch i wanted to join i was leaning both towards army and the marines but in the end i chose the marines and you know i chose it for the qualities i could use after i was finished with my time. dont get me wrong i both love and respect any and all military branches, because in the end we all share the same blood and anger towards out enemies. much love and respect to the families who have lost or have someone serving
i was talking mainly about the conflicts you listed abunch of battles.. and Army was there for everything you just named exept Iwo Jima --->Saipan-2nd Marine Division, 4th Marine Division, 27th Infantry Division(ARMY), Peleliu-1st Marine Division, 81st Infantry Division(ARMY) Okinawa- 7th Infantry Divison(ARMY), 27th Infantry Division(ARMY), 77th Infantry Division(ARMY), 96th Infantry Division(ARMY), 1st Marine Division, 6th Marine Division..
actually 3D ID took Baghdad. The Marines got bogged down in southern Iraq in a town called Nasiriyah. 3D ID made the push with their Bradleys and Abrams. The initial push was a breeze compared to what was going to happen during the occupation phase.
In desert storm, my ship gave support to Marines and Army combat troops..they were both good groups of men...let's all remember we're on the same team.
that as it's due to their needing a many more support services network for reconstruction. They both have their niche, and that is why we have and will continue to maintain both branches. Good natured ribbing is one thing, but three of my friends have been KIA in Helmand. Do NOT malign them.
+Head Knocker Kris Kyle...WAS/IS a PROVEN LIAR... (R.I.P. Kris) Being a SEAL & a Crack Shot wasn't enough for him....Not only did he embellish...But he fantasized and flat out lied about wayyy too much. Sorry but I take that BS statement with a grain of salt. So now....Lemme see the one of the Soldiers at USMC BC.
Why the hell is everyone fighting over Marines vs Army, both services are fighting for our country and it doesn't matter...my brother went into the marines and we're a full time Army family...i have full respect far both services and so should you guys...
right cause you've been in both the army and marine corps. i on the other hand am in the army. airborne all the way, but i give respect to marines as well. any man in uniform is a brother of mine.
well put, when It comes down to the bottom line, I for one, am not going to be pissed off b/c a US Army Soldier came to my aid in combat instead of one of my US Marines. I've seen ass kickin done by both, and both were effective. So Oorah and Hooah.
actually the reason why that wasnt mentioned was because this isnt a debate video. their goals are generally the same while as the tactics they use are worlds apart.
actually army basic is ten weeks if you include reception. The marine basic, with reception (or receiving) included is 13 weeks. The difference is the army doesn't count reception cuz all it is is getting your gear (that is why you hear 9 weeks everywhere). The marines just go ahead and count it. Now, if you do Army OSUT for infantry or cavalry scout, you will get no breaks in between basic training and AIT. The marines don't do this. you can also sign in airborne. airborne+infantrybct=19 weeks
In my day, following graduation from Marine Boot Camp, recruits were sent to ITR at Camp Pendleton, and were led by "Troop Handlers: who wore metallic green helmet liners (circa 60's-70's). And I agree with NSALP121, never confuse a Drill Instructor with anyone...
I have a bicuspid aortic valve with mitral regurgitation, but I am about to try and join the Air Force. I saw a PDF on medical requirements and they do let people in as long as it's a minor issue. It's ultimately up to the CMO at MEPS whether or not I can join, but I'm hoping that either they will accept me or accept a waiver from my cardiologist.
Actually, if you guys knew anything, you guys would know that a Marine Combat Training Instructor is not a School of Infantry Instructor. MCT is for Personnel Other then Grunt (POG) which is me. I was able to go to School Of Infantry (SOI) for machinegun ranges and pointman training. The 2 SOI schools are WAY different and nowhere near like this.
I finished infantry basic training in January and we were issued knee pads, wet weather gear etc. not once were we ever allowed to wear any of it because we were "infantry" in my opinion that's stupid because if you have the equipment to better accomplish the mission then you should be able to use it. Instead of everyone getting sick or injured for no reason in a training environment.
the marine saying "the first to fight and last to leave" is total bullshit. they are the first to fight but they aren't the last to leave the army and they're special forces are. the marines in any war were never the last to leave it was all the army
Not that I've seen yet, Feb 1st graduate, our utilities have padding on the elbows and knees but that's about it. And the "padding" is just an extra layer of fabric that usually gets cut open over training. Cody was right, we just use the pain as motivation.
@billyjacc I'm well aware this is Army Infantry AIT. My point was that they should try an Army Drill Sergeant-Marine Drill Instructor swap for BASIC TRAINING, as the Army did with the Air Force at one point I believe.
First MAR DIV led the push from the south, but 3rd ID "TF Marne"was the first into baghdad and the 173rd led the push from the north... then again they were the only ones up there besides 7th sfg... and the 82nd isn't an occupying force, the PIRs were never meant to be an occupying force, they are a shock force much like the MEUs'.
My dad was army infantry while Im Marines. (Im a scout) We talked about what we learned and army seems more defense based compared to my more assault based training. Everything seems to have its place.
Army does offensive operations a cav scout unit was the spear head going into fallujah attached to a marine unit and look up thunder run going into Baghdad a army offensive operation
actually the Marines were in Fallujah if you search it. Search Marines in Fallujah and you can find it. Also the 1st Marine division was one of the two major forces to invade Iraq.
uh...these are not Drill Instructors, they are SOI Instructor. probably because Infantry training is part of Army Bootcamp (if infantry is your MOS) and the same Drill Sergents stays with you up until you complete your Infantry training, but for Marines, after 3 months of Bootcamp (DI), you go to another 3-4mo. (if Guard detail is part of it) of Infantry training and this guy is just an Instructor for School of Infantry.
As a Marine, I have every bit of respect for my Army brethren. We all serve together.
John Price finally a REAL marine #respect
Semper Fi!
As a cashier at Walmart, I feel the very same way. We all may wear different uniforms but we are all heros.

Semper Fi. RAH I'm 15 soon to go to Parris island South Carolina make the title Marine
Respect, respect, respect. All branches have a healthy competitive nature, but this shows that they all respect one another.
GBS No. Marines and Soldiers often show respect but Coasties, Airmen, and even Sailors are often treated like crap.
+Mike Blaine that reason being what?
This is the type of cross-branch training I like seeing within the US Military. Very positive video between the cross training practices of the US Army and US Marine Corps. As a former NCO, I recommended this idea to my Army Unit Cadre seeing as we were a combat unit. They straight up ignored it.
The Marine in the video is very articulate and professional, good on him.
He knew eating all them crayons would pay off one day.
Marine Infantry School is three months long so I can see how this would be a good tool for him to further refine his abilities as an instructor.
@@Breelik 😂😂
i wish my combat instructors were like this, my combat instructors thought they were drill instructors 💀
as a marine im glad someone posted our brothers working together and comparing tactics. We could use more of this positive reinforcement as opposed to who is better. Wake up haters, we all wear the uniform as grunts and fight on same side...hoorah my marines and hooah army brothers

Hahaha. That SFC Gibson was one of my Drill Sergeants during my Infantry training. Good to see some things don't change.

Your right..we all fight to for this country ...and im very proud that I did.
dont worry theyre only kneepads until u take a step or two then they slide down and become ankle pads. every time.
They're issued for promotion tests only not actual combat

Thank You for the pump on US Army Drill Sergeants as being both a DI and a Combat Instructor. I was a US Army Drill Sergeant.
Combat instructor is so much more relaxed

we are all soldiers, NO MATTER WHAT BRANCH WE ARE.
why did they exchange Drill sergeants for combat instructors? i wanna see them deal with Drill Instructors.
It's nice to Marines and Army working good together!!!!!!!!
The marine is trying to avoid saying that the army sucks haha

Ohh snap. I was in the same OCS phase 2 class as Mutter. Definitely the real deal. I thought he was one of the cadre at first.
Pure professionalism on both sides.
OORAH!!! good stuff for Marines and Army
it was hard for me to decide which branch i wanted to join i was leaning both towards army and the marines but in the end i chose the marines and you know i chose it for the qualities i could use after i was finished with my time. dont get me wrong i both love and respect any and all military branches, because in the end we all share the same blood and anger towards out enemies. much love and respect to the families who have lost or have someone serving
i was talking mainly about the conflicts you listed abunch of battles.. and Army was there for everything you just named exept Iwo Jima --->Saipan-2nd Marine Division, 4th Marine Division, 27th Infantry Division(ARMY), Peleliu-1st Marine Division, 81st Infantry Division(ARMY) Okinawa- 7th Infantry Divison(ARMY), 27th Infantry Division(ARMY), 77th Infantry Division(ARMY), 96th Infantry Division(ARMY), 1st Marine Division, 6th Marine Division..
actually 3D ID took Baghdad. The Marines got bogged down in southern Iraq in a town called Nasiriyah. 3D ID made the push with their Bradleys and Abrams. The initial push was a breeze compared to what was going to happen during the occupation phase.
They take the worst and make the best. Hence the respect.
SO....When are we gonna SEE the ONES of the ARMY Drill SGT's at USMC Boot Camp????!!!
Where is the video of the Drill sergeant at the Marine base?
In the Army, you get what you earn. If you wanna be highspeed, make yourself that way. You can't rely on people to make you more badass...
Oh I thought it said they swapped DIs and DSs. I was like hold up. The army is gonna try DIs.
well put, when It comes down to the bottom line, I for one, am not going to be pissed off b/c a US Army Soldier came to my aid in combat instead of one of my US Marines. I've seen ass kickin done by both, and both were effective. So Oorah and Hooah.
OK BTV, Where is the footage of the soldiers who went to usmc boot??
it depends on the basic training company, mine didnt use knee or elbow pads, and i didnt mind it
This is really cool because sergeant mutter was my combat instructor in ITB.
Why does this make me feel so good? Calm down.
actually the reason why that wasnt mentioned was because this isnt a debate video. their goals are generally the same while as the tactics they use are worlds apart.
USMC and US Army: ONE TEAM, ONE FIGHT. Semper Fidelis and This We'll Defend, Infantry Ready, Marine Corps and Army!!🇺🇸🗽🦅💣💥
actually army basic is ten weeks if you include reception.
Semper Fi.Im going to be the second Marine in my family
....infantry basic training is longer than 8 weeks. look up infantry OSUT.
OKAY...SO when are we going to see the US Army DS at USMC Bootcamp??!
SFC Gibson was my 1SG in basic. Fox 2-54
That couldn't have ever been said any better!
SO.......WHEN Are We Gonna See Video Of The Army D.S.'s At Marine Boot Benning TV???!
#ArmyStrong HOOAH!
With full air, armor, and naval support? Yes I'm aware of these units but the whole of the MC can do this not just specialized units.
Do you really think that the Army DS's don't perform mass punishment on a platoon if someone messes up in OSUT? If so, you're sadly mistaken.
Amen to the Army Sgt said, different uniforms but same Americans. We bleed the same red, white and blue!!
the marine saying "the first to fight and last to leave" is total bullshit. they are the first to fight but they aren't the last to leave the army and they're special forces are. the marines in any war were never the last to leave it was all the army
Not that I've seen yet, Feb 1st graduate, our utilities have padding on the elbows and knees but that's about it. And the "padding" is just an extra layer of fabric that usually gets cut open over training. Cody was right, we just use the pain as motivation.
wheres part two? and they really need to swap DI's and Drill Sergeants I want to see that
@billyjacc I'm well aware this is Army Infantry AIT.
I want to know what happened to the kid that called it a "mag" in stead of magazine.
3000 word rbi on acronyms and abbreviations
It's actually 13 weeks of training in the U.S. Marine Corps.
actually the Marines were in Fallujah if you search it. Search Marines in Fallujah and you can find it. Also the 1st Marine division was one of the two major forces to invade Iraq.
Have you ever heard of the Army's XVIII Airborne Corps? They can be deployed within 18 hours of executive notice. How about the Army Rangers?
I can't wait man.
uh...these are not Drill Instructors, they are SOI Instructor. probably because Infantry training is part of Army Bootcamp (if infantry is your MOS) and the same Drill Sergents stays with you up until you complete your Infantry training, but for Marines, after 3 months of Bootcamp (DI), you go to another 3-4mo. (if Guard detail is part of it) of Infantry training and this guy is just an Instructor for School of Infantry.
haha, I love how that guy in basic is standing at ease while talking to the news guys
