Also fitted are ABS brakes with the KACT system which means using the brake pedal activates the rear brake and the right front disk whereas using the front brake lever activates and balances all three disks. Cruise control is standard as is the 6 speed box - the 6th gear is great for the highway. The screen and the lowers which can be opened in summer to allow for some air flow keep the wind off the rider and I reckon they should give the pillion good protection (although I have never been a passenger). There is plenty of luggage space if you want to take the bike on the road for touring which is what it is designed for. The dashboard is well laid out and in the eye line as you're looking at the road. If I were to suggest to Kawasaki one improvement it would be an electric, speed limited reverse gear. How does it corner compared to a standard cross country? That and the legroom were the selling points that got me to buy a Victory. Think I'll go try one of these. Good vid.
I owned a GL1800 for a few years, then I bought a Voyager this year. I like the Voyager better overall as a driver. It's more fun in the twisties, overall better handling, and better gear ratios mean it's FAR less fussy in lower transitional speeds and corners. Far more flickable in turns, the GW almost required full-body yanking the bike over in turns. The GW also has fun-killing lean angle before scraping. Basically you are granny riding in the mountains because you don't have a choice. The Voyager responds to classic big twin tilting technique in turns, and it's a lot of fun. The downsides are the well known hot weather discomfort, and the cramped passenger space that requires rigging up a way to slide the top box assembly back an inch or two, I'm working on that. Would I make the switch again? Yes.
I think the kawi needs ivan reflash, priced affordable, fair resale value, gets very hot due to government standards for emission control, harley is more linear in throttle response, high resale value, ridiculously priced, better sound system, kawi reminds me of a copy , i know it shouldn't matter but it still does, both voyager and ultra are great 2 up touring bikes
There is nothing about ANY motorcycle that would make me believe a bike with very little R&D would cost 20K plus to make. Especially a slow HD bike with old technology. A Goldwing is the only bike I could see that costs that much.
Richard, The bike is well engineered. However, Kawasaki has it restricted from what the bike can be. That's where Ivan from Ivan's Performance comes in. Send him the ECU (Engine Control Module), and he will flash it (flash meaning reprogram it), and send it back. Price is reasonable. The bike will now have muscle! The increase in torque through all gears including Overdrive will floor you. Example: On the interstate, the speed limit in Pennsylvania is 70mph. I usually set the cruise for 80mph. Before the flash, in the aforementioned configuration, if I wanted to accelerate, I would twist the throttle and wait until the bike would slowly gain speed a few mph at a time.. Now, in the same configuration, I twist the throttle, and not much, and I rocket off of 80mph and am through 110mph in a matter of a few seconds. Incredible!!! Google Ivan's Performance and go to his website for pricing and shipping information. You won't be sorry!!! I have a stock exhaust and stock Airbox. If you want even more power than what is configured on my bike, you can replace the airbox with a high flow air intake, and add high output exhaust pipes, then Ivan will flash the ECU to that configuration, giving you even more power. Take a close look at the performance print outs that he has displayed on his website. Study them a bit so you completely understand what they are showing. The increase with the mods is impressive, but I am very satisfied with the flash and stock configuration. Hope this helps!
My bike is not flashed. By the time you get your foot back onto the left floorboard from a stop, you train yourself to come down onto the heel shifter. Now you're in 2nd and can easily pull away to 50+ mph.

Btw your biblical quote is a good one that applies to today. Everyone has done something bad that they got joy from intially. But after while, they were better about the way things turned out. Even you have experienced this.
Definitely if by considering Vaquero it's obviously a better choice to have added some extra, not much though, funds you will have a rich package, neither Harley no Indian will never let you for even not a close bid of such a money. That's why we are conceding markets to Japanese. Sure different people are preferring different riding styles, whatnot. In my opinion although Harleys, Indians and Hondas are not just expensive, in fact theyre but shamlessly overpriced, we are facing all this whimsical electronic issues imminently. For Gold Wing will regularly require to update a different aspects of its stuff as firmware, software which is responsible for no less but critical functions of a two wheeler. Kawi Voyager in its turn is representing a pure classics without much redundant electronics and so on. I'll consider it for the future bike after my current Kawi Vulcan LT which is great but underpowered for American freeway with it's rather ridiculous 905 cc.
The 09,10,and 11 didn’t have the fan that takes the engine heat off the rider. I have the 09. And in summer! Super hot in traffic! Like your legs get baked chicken heat!

What is your advice for people who buy bikes and keep them? Not everyone buys a depreciating asset with the thought of selling it at a loss several years later.
Do you think Harleys match the performance, refinement, reliability and handling of any bike from the Japanese Fab 4 ? No offense, but ‘Serious R&D’ happens in Japan - not in Milwaukee !
I tried it 2017 these motorcycles has no power you crunk around the throttle and you see the needle move very slowly from 45 to 50 you ever and the middle of a situation where you need to move quickly you will get kill these bikes don't have power I was thinking to get one as I mentioned I tried it 2017
Great bike ,road glide isnt all American made anymore . can't justify the pricetag and have had better performance from thr vulcans ,yeah yeah , aand Indian is the possible new harley ?? I hear that and ya know what ,as long as youre ridin , who cares ,enjoy the road .
There is no doubt that the bike has some weight to it. It's actually 100 pounds lighter than the Vulcan 2000, a bike that I had, but got destroyed when a deer jumped into me, me doing 60mph. I really feel that the heaviness of that bike actually saved my life. The 1700 is 100 pounds lighter, but still has enough weight to deliver some protection in a high speed impact. Keep practicing slow speed turns and you will develop the techniques to handle the bike will ease. I sometimes revert back to some old habits, and the bike quickly reminds me that it doesn't like to be ridden that way. Basically, ride the bike the way it wants to be ridden, and you will find that the bike is extremely maneuverable at slow speeds, and during high speed sharp turns. The bike is very impressive. I run Metzler 888's on both front and back, but have found that the recommended tire inflation is a little soft. I run the front at 34psi instead of the recommended 28psi, and I run the rear at 42psi instead of the recommended 40psi heavy, or 36psi light.

Voyager over Road Glide? Harley created a template in the Road Glide that Japanese manufacturers have tried to emulate for years in terms of aesthetics.. That was the basis for the Harley lawsuit against Honda several years ago.. Economically, the Japanese manufacturers offer a more affordable version of the "American Vision" of motorcycling.. In essence, the external attributes are similar in ocular perception but the Japanese engineering is missing the "soul" of the American biker experience to that which Harley Davidson embodies... It looks like a duck, it walks like a duck but at the end of the day that duck eats a bowl of rice instead of a steak.. Great vid, brother.. Thanks

Love my 1700 Voyager... got it setup for me....
Your videos are sick, any suggestions on how to get a bike if your parents don’t want you to get one
grow up and become an adult and get a job and buy a bike
If you have to ask permission, you are not old enough to own one.
Get a job and buy it yourself
@@Srkcycles some serious words of wisdom there
Been riding my new to me Voyager and can't believe how much I love this bike. Test rode some Harleys but for the money they did not impress me any more than my bike. More updated features yes, but way overpriced.
No M1 Moto gloves for today's ride I see.
My left ear really enjoyed this video
LOL.....at 7:49, that was the most random thing i heard all day!!!!!!
Your title doesn't make sense.
you were so right , thanks i fixed it
So by the quote every used car business in the world shall have frogs rained on them..nice bike I hope to get one soon
I feel like i now have exactly the same amount if information on the voyager as i had before the video. Its a motorcycle with a fixed fairing thats cheap. Thanks....
lol yeah your right
Jose Roca then you didn’t watch this review.
He has a point. Most of the video reviews don't bring a lot of new information. Like the Can am review.
JDQuest well it’s not a new bike.
Umm no audio?
15 years ago I walked into a Harley dealership to buy my first of five Harley’s out back there were 13 RoadGlides I asked the sale man
Who’s bikes those are he answered “ the mechanics out back” today I ride a 2010 RoadGlide custom my wife rides a 2017 Road Glide S
The new Milwaukee 8 Ride like a dream take the featured bike above and a road-glide any roadglide run both for for five years trade them and see what you get. Ride safe
What is your advice for people who buy bikes and keep them? Not everyone buys a depreciating asset with the thought of selling it at a loss several years later.
And what about paying half to begin with?
Do you think Harleys match the performance, refinement, reliability and handling of any bike from the Japanese Fab 4 ?
No offense, but ‘Serious R&D’ happens in Japan - not in Milwaukee !
I ride a hd but i luv Vulcans 2!
I tried it 2017 these motorcycles has no power you crunk around the throttle and you see the needle move very slowly from 45 to 50 you ever and the middle of a situation where you need to move quickly you will get kill these bikes don't have power I was thinking to get one as I mentioned I tried it 2017
miguel a wence these bikes have just as much power as a Harley. I have a 2011 Vaquero and can beat any 107 Harley.
@@DJGENOTYPE Just as much power as a Harley. That says it all.
@@2wheelsr2wheels39 just needs a remapping but I do agree. After remapping, the bike ran faster and shift better
Great bike ,road glide isnt all American made anymore . can't justify the pricetag and have had better performance from thr vulcans ,yeah yeah , aand Indian is the possible new harley ?? I hear that and ya know what ,as long as youre ridin , who cares ,enjoy the road .
No need to ride with the key in the ignition either. This way a rider won't scratch the tank while on road trips.
Nice bike man really cool.
I like it!
Dis you say that bike is “light”? It weighs 895lb!
He did say that. I'm sure your jaw did exactly what mine did. 😲 I think it was an honest mistake because he then said, "it drives light"
Don’t say it’s the Ultra classic... is not a Harley.!! By the way this bike looks like a retro 60’s car just beautiful
Header wrap will solve a lot of heat issues.
Very nice 👌
Wear gloves when riding!
You said it’s light?? It’s heavy and nimble .!!!!
Vah-Keh-Doh.... Vaquero
I look at not complying with the rules turning the indicators should also be used if the cops police then can get from a car rider through the muzzle
Love my 18 Voyager.
Needs an Ivan flash!!!
Just got mine done. Now it's a Vulcan with muscle. What a world of difference!
Its very tempting but I'll stay hd...
I like the bike it look cool
Great bible verse.
Words of wisdom.....
The bread is the word of GOD. Not food you eat. The bible speaks in many riddles. Without studying, a person would be lost.
But I love your words of wisdom!!
The world needs more of it!

Hello
nice fiarytale put in there
What is a fiarytale?
No one on earth would compare this bike to a Road Glide! LMAO
yes , this bike is better than a road glide!!
@@tpike46w nah not even close.

Thanks
At the end of the day I prefer a functional bike that does exactly the same as others but a lower price.
Meanwhile some guy sits at a desk at Harley-Davidson and is in the process of ordering some parts from Japan for the new Harleys that are being built.
or Germany, or Italy, or Mexico, or Canada...all things I saw when I was training on that manufacturer.
The looks may compare to the road glide but the sound compares to a lawnmower
I can deal with the sound. the reduced vibrations mean less nerve damage over a lifetime of motorcycling, and that means I can rider longer. I like that. I can always put on different exhaust too.
I might buy a Voyager minivan 😂
Too many clickbait titles... sorry, unsubbing....
Faster. More durable and 100k miles with low maintenance I've got the vaquero 1700
It’s not called a voyager anymore
Yeah they are, I looked at a 2019 last week
