We rode our Voyager from Washington state to Florida and back, over 7000 miles. 500 plus miles per day in August of 2014. Water cooled was nice crossing Texas and Arizona. I am 6'0" and found it to be very comfortable with breaks every 150 miles. Goldwings with ABS and Harleys are $10,000 more than what I paid. Victory dealers are hard to find, closest one to me is 60 miles away. One more thought; the Voyager is the only one in this comparison with a frame mounted fairing. I will travel the Columbia river gorge once a year and after several wind storms on our trip I have learned that a frame mounted faring is a huge advantage.
The 09 road glide ultra has a smaller "Riders triangle" than my Vulcan 1600. I find it hard to believe that the voyager rider space is less than the HD touring bikes.

I find the seat comfortable for long rides but as is good practice I think a stop about every 200kms is a good idea. I haven't ridden on the back but my wife tells me the pillion seat and back support are comfortable. I previously owned a Yamaha XV1100 which had a much narrower less comfortable pillion seat. One thing I love about this bike is that loud thunk when you put the bike in first gear. The cruise control and 6 speed gear box make riding the open road a joy.
For the money and what you get in this bike its hard to go wrong. It's looks are better and when you compare the prices of all 3 this bike stands taller than it's given credit for in this video. Where is the Yamaha royal star venture in this?
I love my voyager, I've had it for just over two yrs and have 36000 miles on it, have done three iron butts on it with the stock seat, I'm 6'1 and think it fits me perfect, I'm hoping it lasts me for a long time.
I have had trouble with the rear suspension. It does not absorb enough road imperfections at highway speed and it bucks your butt like a mule on small pavement buckle bumps. I ran the shock pressure at atmosphere and had the damping setting on 4. My friends Harley rides like a dream compared to my voyager. My other friends Victory rides even better. No problem going cross-country on those two, but the Kawi. Too much pain in the saddle.
@@slickflyguy setting 4? Well a rider at 200ibs solo should be at setting 2 and with a passenger setting 3 it's also recommended if you do add air to the shocks 12 I think they said was the magic number.

It's got design flaws big time!! Bought one and wish I hadn't! It's cheaper for a reason! Lots if plastic parts on the motor and elsewhere and of course it includes the Kawasaki Voyager death wobble at no charge!😎 Not a novice and have owned hundreds of bikes of almost all makes. Never had a Ducati though.
These are great bikes foe the price. The death wobble is the front tire being out of balance. My only issue was having to have the ECU flashed to get it to run appropriately. Every bike has more plastic these days to keep the weight and costs down. I get great gas mileage and compliments. Cheap tourer that provides tons of excitement.
I have owned a voyager since 2012 and love the bike. The shifter isn't up too high and the engine has lots of power. Most Harley riders I know have traded their less reliable Harley for Honda's or other Japanese bikes
Hey ! Question ? I’m 5’7 , 155lbs I’ve been riding a Harley sportster 1200 for 5 years. Looking to get this, do you think the bike would be a good fit ? Or to big ?

@@davidphilion1432 thanks! Looking at one tmrw. 2011 with 14k mikes , one owner has small crack in one of the side storage units. Guy wants 8k$ hoping to talk him down to at least 7

All three might be touring bikes, but they are in three different prices ranges too. How can you compare a Harley that starts at almost 27,000, to the other two bikes?
And with the 2015 Voyagers now in the $17,000, is the Harley worth the extra 10 grand? I rode the 2014 Ultra Limited and I honestly found nothing to be impressed about. The Kaw is a fully liquid cooled engine and most likely will long outlast the Harley. Replacing the drive belt on the Harley is a major issue. I have ridden all three of these bikes and the Voyager overall does have the least power, but not that much less. IMO the Harley is not worth the price and the Victory is 5 grand over the price of the Voyager. I like the Voyager.
I found the Voyager was easier to handle and was more comfortable. IDK who test rode this but my experience was way different. Also the ride is so much better. The HD has a terrible suspension in comparison. I did not ride the Indian, but for the money I'm happy with the Voyager.
This is an amazing bike for the money. In Canada the HD Ultra is $36,500 out the door while the Kawasaki Voyager is $20,000 out the door. The Kawasaki is $16,500 cheaper then the Harley. Yes the Harley has a better fit and finish then the Kawasaki.....but is it worth $16K more? No way. I put 105,000km on my Kawasaki in 3 years of riding with no problems. That same number of KM on a Harley and you’d be replacing your Compensator springs, Primary chain, bearings and bushings, your pressed Fly wheel as well as having numerous oil leaks. I know this because my best friend only has 70,000km on his Harley touring bike and this is what he has done to his. If you want to look good in a parking lot with your friends get the Harley. If you want to log hundreds of thousands of trouble free KM’s, get the Kawasaki. There is a reason why Harley has the second highest repair rate of its bikes behind BMW (Consumer reports )
Look at it this way: Harleys are designed for people who like to tinker. The Japanese bikes (Kawasaki, Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha) are designed for people who want to enjoy the road without the problems. Harleys are geared for an "image".
I just rode one today and rode a Harley ultra. Kawasaki is a bit bigger. Other than that it’s simply a matter of taste. I can’t any reason to shit on either one of them. But it does amaze me how many will shit on Harley to justify their cheaper purchase. That’s a sorry reason. The reason to buy the Kawasaki over the Harley is simple...you liked it better. I put 300 miles on a Harley ultra today and I can’t find a single reason to shit on it. Smooth as glass cruising down the parkway at 75mph...and so was the Kawasaki 👍🏼
@Some Dude i have a Kawasaki nomad 1700. That's what I've ridden all year. My friends 103 and 107 Harleys smoke me easily. I dunno what kind of special nomad you think you have because mine has zero power when revved out. All bottom end and abruptly signs off when revved out. Not fast at all. Its not designed to be. There's nothing spectacular about my Kawasaki other than it was cheaper. But if your humiliating Harleys they must be 30 years old. Just another example of cooking up a wild story to justify a choice. Didn't expect me to have same Kawasaki bike 😂. I know exactly what they do and how they compare to Harleys of the same year...i have one. It's a good bike but it doesn't humiliate anybody. But I don't give a shit, I didn't buy it to humiliate or be faster than anybody
I agree. The VV lacks speed but is still noteworthy for consumers wishing to ride and not break the bank. The 2025s have been completely updated; I can't wait to see the new design and updated technology.
It has a heel-toe shifter ,why would you need to use your toe to shift up?

Bought a 2017 for $15,500 plus tax and extra warranties etc was less than 20K. Have 8000 miles and like it very much. Half the price of a new Harley but much more than half the bike. I also own a 93 Electra Glide I bought new and still own. Can't afford another Harley. Did I mention the .5% financing for 48 months. Payment with no money down is $371.91. Bargain bike.
@@AD1978leo yes, list price was $17500 with $2000 incentive from Kawasaki. Financing is I believe sponsored by Kawasaki through Synchrony Bank. Check out Kawasaki's website. I believe the last time I looked they were offering $1000 at that time. The transaction was really easy. I have 11000 miles on it and am very happy with the purchase.

I would never pay for a new one , but USED they are a absolute steal. You can't beat them for the price. I dunno why they are so cheap when used...but I'm not complaining! You get a LOT of bike for little money. It sucks for whoever buys them new and loses all the money but it's great for us used buyers.
The shifter isn't up too high. Use the heal part like you are supposed to. That's why it's called a heal-toe shifter. Lol.
Don’t let the MSRP fool you these can be had for $14ishK BRAND NEW. 8-15k less than its competition
That's true. My friend bought a new one in Oklahoma for $13.5k and rode it home to Cali. They're good solid bikes and a great bang for the buck.

@@kevinh4910 They ride very nice. I've rode it a few times and I like it a lot. I liked it better than my 2005 Royal Star Venture which is a full dress tourer as well. And I don't agree with the reviewer's comments about fit and finish either. The paint jobs on these bikes are top shelf IMHO. I would not hesitate to buy one of these if I was budget minded. You won't be disappointed. They go for about $17k here in So. Cal., but you kind find deals on "new" previous year models all over. Check out Cycletrader on-line.

I have a 2010 voyager red and black check Benny's Kawasaki voyager l have a small video. Have 17000 miles now my wife and I took trips all around country when we take time off work. Never a single problem. My cousin has a 2014 ultra limited we switched bikes on a 120 mile ride we both agreed the ride was about equal the voyager handles better ,has better brakes and l outran him by about 6 bikes but his Harley was all stock at that time mine wasn't. I put a set of tires modified pipes,thunder air kit,power comma der,red led lights upgrade steel and speakers. Etc..
Is it okay with ground clearance??

I laugh whenever any review mentions a bike makes your back uncomfortable after long haul because of no lumbar support. REALLY? ALL bikes take a toll on your back after 4+ hours and ANY cruiser can have a rider back support added which for a control forward position allows you to lean back and relax back muscles. If you want to compare back pain compare sport bike to cruiser after 4 hours bent over like someone's bitch vs. riding cruiser leaned back against support.....then you will know uncomfortable and pain....no offense to sport bike folks....enjoy em while your young...you will switch eventually....time is an equal opportunity master.
I own both sport bike's and a cruiser I have no issue riding my Buell XB12R around all day without stopping unless I need fuel same deal on my Aprilia and I'm not that young it just matter's what you want to ride. I like owning both types of bikes cruiser and sport bike got the best of both worlds cruising and corner carver it just matters what mood I'm in that day.
I suppose my opinion doesn't account for those of us who by midlife have had one back surgery or more or need one....if you are male, aged past 50, have ANY athletic history worth mentioning or physical job for time worth mentioning...then you have a compromised spine....and I failed to clarify those details. If you are middle aged with zero back history, you are the exception and not the rule...count your blessings. I could NEVER manage even an hour on a sport bike that required a forward leaning position...would be miserable ride. I have a Star1300 tourer with a driver back rest and have ridden several hours with no problems.
How about past 60 years old??!!! Yep, I agree, although I did have a 1991 Honda CBR1000F that was comfortable for 250 mile rides. My TL1000S, ZX12R? As Roberto Duran said, "No Mass!" I owned those sports bikes into my late 50s and now I ride a nice 1500 Goldwing with a back rest.
Wow, you guys went "Dark" with this comparison... Negative everything on the Voyager... It is a shame that you were "paid off" by the competition to give a poor showing on the Kawasaki.... Let's see: Toe shifting with a heal toe shifter = ignorant rider. Power falls off with high revs = ignorant riders because a "stroker" motor will always fall off at high revs, that is the nature of a "stroker" being that it is meant for low revs and works well in that department. This review reminds me of magazine journalist who take a "bagger" and come up with the conclusion that "I can't drag a knee on this bike" therefore, the motorcycle does not compare to a Sport Bike.... Yep, you are right Mr Journalist, it is not a Sport Bike, congratulation on your ignorance!!! The Voyager's "Fit and Finish" is on par with the other brands, you just want that "kick back" money from Harley. Forgot this so I edited my post - Thumbs down on your review Mr Darksider.
It did seem like an undeserved negative review. They also don't mention how much less expensive this bike is in its comparison. Many people will be happy to save $10k for a little less power and no bluetooth.
3rd in compassion but 1st in price.
The factual errors in this video make it essentially useless.
AND its 20K less than the HD.
It's a machine you have to operate. If it had any more ergonomics. Might as well just stay home in an ez chair.

HAd a friend lose control on his voyager and get hurt I left my victory cross country with friends and rode his voyager home for him after getting off my cross country and riding the voyager I could see how he lost control .
