You both have beautiful strawberry blonde hair and I’ve been following Molly’s recipe for a few months and it Doesn’t turn out as pretty a color . I’ve changed it up a bit . Tried it without the darker color and tried more red , tried more minutes and less minutes. Even tried the box colors ( molly suggested ) it looked little better then Sally’s . But it either turns out to dark , to brown or to orangey looking . Towards the end of the 4 weeks it looks better but by then I have gray roots coming in . Unsure if what to do so it turns out more like the both of yours . Any advice ?
Because of who I am as a person I've tweaked Molly's "recipe" every which way, had to color strip my hair twice and finally, all these months later, tried doing it *exactly* the way she does it and lo and behold it's my favorite incarnation yet, lol. Who knew following the directions would work out so well?! lol

Hi, I know this formula is intended for grey hair, but I wanted to know if this will also work on pre-lightened (bleached) hair? I’ve been wanting to achieve this color for the longest time, but my hair is pre-lightened. If this formula will work, please let me know! I will not be going to the salon to be charged over $100 for something I can do myself. I have short pixie hair that I prefer to dye myself as I always have. Thanks!!
Hi Sandy! This is very timely. I just filmed a step by step of me coloring my hair with this Formula. I’ll upload it today. Since this video (that you just watched) I have lightened my hair a bit. I used Wella Color Charm sand blond, to make my hair a lighter blondish red. The lady at Sally’s told me it would lift my color 2 shades, no more than that. So that’s what I did. (I didn’t use bleach). I just filmed myself bringing it back to Strawberry Blonde using the mixture of Wella Color Charm lt.golden blonde and Titan Red Blonde with a vol 20 developer. I have some gray, but not a lot. My hair is in good condition and is pretty thick, so I have not had any trouble in terms of it being damaging to my hair. Take into consideration the health of your hair. If you bleach, your hair will be more porous and will absorb the color so you will definitely want to do a patch test 48 hours before you color to be sure you like the color and tolerate the formula etc... I use much more (2oz) of the Light Golden Blonde and a smaller amount (1oz or less) of the Titan Red Blonde to keep it lighter red. If you could stop into Ulta (that’s where I go) and speak to one of their hairdressers they are usually pretty happy to guide you in the process, and they can look at your hair and tell you specifically if this would work for you. I just ask to speak to a hairdresser, and they are usually happy to oblige free of charge💞😊. I hope this is helpful to you. Hint: it’s Titian red, not Titan. Titian was an Italian artist and painter who was well known for depicting his subjects with light red blond hair. If you Google, I think you’ll find Titian as a proper name and in lower case, refers to the hair color itself.
My hair was a copper red naturally. It’s lightened up as I’m getting older. I haven’t bleached my hair first and the white/silver strands that are coming in seem to take the color well! Thank you for watching and for the kind words!!💗

Hi There!! This is an older video. I filmed it before I started using Madison Reed. I have gone back to Wella Color Charm though for exactly the reason you mentioned. It is less than 20.00 to color my hair with Wella and around 60.00 to use Madison Reed. My latest videos have my current hair color using the Wella Color Charm products. Hi Suzi! It depends on the color and condition of your hair right now. If your hair is not chemically treated presently You could do a strand test on a small piece of your hair and see how it looks when your done. Make sure it doesn’t damage your hair, and is the color you are aiming to achieve. Something else you could do is stop into Sally’s Beauty Supply (if you have one nearby) and have the clerk advise you. That way she can see your hair at the starting point. My hair is strong so I do put it all over the first time and leave it on for approximately 25 min. But that’s just what works for me. Best wishes!! Love, Dawn

I just used girlgetglamourous's formula, and I love it. However, it's a little on the dark side. How should I change the formula to make it a little bit lighter? I used a whole tube of the 8G light golden blonde, half a tube of the 8RG titan red blonde, and 1/4 of the tube of 7G sunlight blonde brown with 7oz of 20vol developer. or should I bleach my hair and then apply?
I wouldn’t bleach unless you go to a professional. If your hair is 90%gray, your hair will/ should look like Molly’s. Her formula is dark for me too because I’m less than 10% gray. I use a whole Tube of Light hope Golden Blonde gel (2oz) with 1/4 tube of Titan Red Blonde with the vol 20 developer (2:1 ratio meaning double the developer). ruclips.net/video/XJjrnoSeF4g/видео.html. Here is a step by step video of me coloring my hair with this formula. Sometimes I will just use all Light Golden Blonde or Sand Blonde to get a really Light Strawberry Blonde. The beginning of the linked video is me with just sand blonde, then i dye it Light Golden Blonde/ Titan Red Blonde and at the end you can see the darker red color. I am a natural red head, but I’m 48 and my color has really changed over the years so i find this really brightens it up. What is your natural color? Has your hair been bleached? Is it healthy? Take all of these things into consideration. I only feel comfortable doing my hair at home because 1. I’m only going one shade lighter or darker 2. My hair is really healthy. I’m not a hairdresser, this just works for me. I just watched a video by beauty101byLisa she bleached her hair and fried it so badly that it all broke off😳. You have to be very careful with bleach. I'm gonna try your formula next- 1/4 titan red blonde with a whole tube of the light golden blonde color next time I dye my hair. I don't think I need the sunlight blonde brown. thanks for your help! I have naturally light blonde hair, it's really fine but I have a ton of it. Recently I went from platinum bleached blonde (done at home-didn't go bad thankfully but you're right- bad idea) to L'oreal Reddish Blonde box dye, which was a good color but it didn't last. Then I use girlgetglamorous' formula after about a month, which was nice, just too dark. BUT I'll leave a comment after I try your formula out to let you and others know how it went on my hair type and color!
I’m sure you know this, but deep condition several times between now and the next time you color. Thank you for letting us know how it goes. I had to tweak Molly’s Formula to get my own personal best results. I do think Wella Color Charm is far better than any store bought box color that I have tried. I use this formula of Molly's as well and love it, however I like mine a bit lighter too so I use a whole tube of 8 gold and 3/4 tube of the titan red and i dont use the 7 sunlit brown at all, then of course I mix my 1:2 ratio of developer and It comes out perfect. If u want your hair lighter don't use that 7 sunlit brown as that is a level darker and will add a darker look to the color. Remember a level 1 is black and a level 10 is a white blonde so as u go down the color chart ,you only go darker, that is why I only use the level 8 colors to accomplish my light strawberry blonde hair.. anyways just trying to answer that question about going lighter. Hope I was able to help

Hi! My hair is naturally red, but it’s darker. I made a second video sharing my coloring process. I show how dark my roots look without color. ruclips.net/video/XJjrnoSeF4g/видео.html. My hair does get lightened quite a bit with the color alone. Take a look and see if your hair is naturally much darker than mine. If you choose to lift your hair more than 1 or 2 shades I would consult with a professional first. I would hate for you to damage your hair. I have very much enjoyed your video. I am a natural strawberry blonde which faded considerably in my thirties and now going white in my late forties. For a few years I did a henna/cassia mix which I loved but it takes a lot of time and now my hair suddenly grows so fast, I must do the roots every 2-3 weeks. I have switched and done Wella 7RC and 8GB for the last 6 months or so, but have been deserving to go just a little bit lighter. I see you held up a box of 10G and so I might just give that a go instead of the 8G!

It depends on the color and condition of your hair right now. If your hair is not chemically treated presently You could do a strand test on a small piece of your hair and see how it looks when your done. Make sure it doesn’t damage your hair, and is the color you are aiming to achieve. Something else you could do is stop into Sally’s Beauty Supply (if you have one nearby) and have the clerk advise you. That way she can see your hair at the starting point. My hair is strong so I do put it all over the first time and leave it on for approximately 25 min. But that’s just what works for me. Best wishes!!

Hi Violet, I don’t use bleach and my hair is naturally darker too. If you want it lighter you could use more of the 8G than the 8rg. I hope this helps!!

I just used girlgetglamourous's formula, and I love it. However, it's a little on the dark side. How should I change the formula to make it a little bit lighter? I used a whole tube of the 8G light golden blonde, half a tube of the 8RG titan red blonde, and 1/4 of the tube of 7G sunlight blonde brown with 7oz of 20vol developer. or should I bleach my hair and then apply?
I wouldn’t bleach unless you go to a professional. If your hair is 90%gray, your hair will/ should look like Molly’s. Her formula is dark for me too because I’m less than 10% gray. I use a whole Tube of Light hope Golden Blonde gel (2oz) with 1/4 tube of Titan Red Blonde with the vol 20 developer (2:1 ratio meaning double the developer). ruclips.net/video/XJjrnoSeF4g/видео.html. Here is a step by step video of me coloring my hair with this formula. Sometimes I will just use all Light Golden Blonde or Sand Blonde to get a really Light Strawberry Blonde. The beginning of the linked video is me with just sand blonde, then i dye it Light Golden Blonde/ Titan Red Blonde and at the end you can see the darker red color. I am a natural red head, but I’m 48 and my color has really changed over the years so i find this really brightens it up. What is your natural color? Has your hair been bleached? Is it healthy? Take all of these things into consideration. I only feel comfortable doing my hair at home because 1. I’m only going one shade lighter or darker 2. My hair is really healthy. I’m not a hairdresser, this just works for me. I just watched a video by beauty101byLisa she bleached her hair and fried it so badly that it all broke off😳. You have to be very careful with bleach. I’d leave that to the professionals. I hope this helps you!!

I'm gonna try your formula next- 1/4 titan red blonde with a whole tube of the light golden blonde color next time I dye my hair. I don't think I need the sunlight blonde brown. thanks for your help! I have naturally light blonde hair, it's really fine but I have a ton of it. Recently I went from platinum bleached blonde (done at home-didn't go bad thankfully but you're right- bad idea) to L'oreal Reddish Blonde box dye, which was a good color but it didn't last. Then I use girlgetglamorous' formula after about a month, which was nice, just too dark. BUT I'll leave a comment after I try your formula out to let you and others know how it went on my hair type and color!
I’m sure you know this, but deep condition several times between now and the next time you color. Thank you for letting us know how it goes. I had to tweak Molly’s Formula to get my own personal best results. I do think Wella Color Charm is far better than any store bought box color that I have tried. I’m hoping you have wonderful results this next time around.

I use this formula of Molly's as well and love it, however I like mine a bit lighter too so I use a whole tube of 8 gold and 3/4 tube of the titan red and i dont use the 7 sunlit brown at all, then of course I mix my 1:2 ratio of developer and It comes out perfect. If u want your hair lighter don't use that 7 sunlit brown as that is a level darker and will add a darker look to the color. Remember a level 1 is black and a level 10 is a white blonde so as u go down the color chart ,you only go darker, that is why I only use the level 8 colors to accomplish my light strawberry blonde hair.. anyways just trying to answer that question about going lighter. Hope I was able to help

Hi! My hair is naturally red, but it’s darker. I made a second video sharing my coloring process. I show how dark my roots look without color. ruclips.net/video/XJjrnoSeF4g/видео.html. My hair does get lightened quite a bit with the color alone. Take a look and see if your hair is naturally much darker than mine. If you choose to lift your hair more than 1 or 2 shades I would consult with a professional first. I would hate for you to damage your hair. Once you figure out the formulation that works best for your hair you can tweak the formulation to reach your desired results!! Let me know how it goes! Best wishes to you!!!

I have very much enjoyed your video. I am a natural strawberry blonde which faded considerably in my thirties and now going white in my late forties. For a few years I did a henna/cassia mix which I loved but it takes a lot of time and now my hair suddenly grows so fast, I must do the roots every 2-3 weeks. I have switched and done Wella 7RC and 8GB for the last 6 months or so, but have been deserving to go just a little bit lighter. I see you held up a box of 10G and so I might just give that a go instead of the 8G!
