- At home methods I tried to get out demi permanent dye from my original light blonde hair:
1st was baking soda/clarifying shampoo
2nd was a mix of vinegar and vitamin C tablets crushed into it and letting it sit as a treatment, this treatment worked the best by far!
Original red hair dye: Umberto Beverly Hills Demi Italian dye in 8.43
It was a beautiful color but was too much of a commitment for me at the time! Thank you for watching my second video ever made, I would go back and change a lot if I could!
I got my hair did. It was same as you copper red. Felt it was too dark for me. So I followed this. 7 or 8 vit c tablets crushed, quarter bottle of vinegar but I added head and shoulders. Fired it on, left it for 45 minutes and its a beaut straw blonde! No dark patches, streaks etc. Thanks for the inspiration girl :)
It's been 23 days since I colored hair. Will this treatment still work???
What is the exact measurement for the vinegar?
Thank you soooo much for posting this. After watching I did the Vitamin C and vinegar. It works - I’m so glad.
Hello your video just saved me haha. I went to the hair stylist this morning and I regret that I did copper color. So I took your advice and this copper is gone! So happy! Thank you so much ❤
Oh wow I’m so glad my video came in handy for you!🤗
The beginning color looks really natural.
Thanks! It was a really pretty color, I wish I could have committed!
It does! I'm a natural and it's nearly the same color lol
Omg I know it’s a few years old but thank you for this video! I am so happy I found it! I had the same problem and the results with the vitamin c/vinegar turned it the light barely strawberry blonde that I originally wanted and it doesn’t feel any more damaged.
I’m about to do the same- fingers crossed!
what kind of vinegar? how long did you leave it on?
Is it the white or apple vinegar ?
How much of each did you use?
@@lovelyflowers4833 I used white vinegar
NGL the first hair color looked amazing on you and your eyes popped
Girl..... I did the exact same thing blonde to bright red ☹ *thanks for making this video i'm halfway thru but the thumbnail looked awesome! ♡*
I hope yours faded well since you last commented! Red is SO hard to get out of blonde!
That was a dramatic difference! Looks fantastic.
Thank you so much! I’m actually about to attempt strawberry blonde again, so maybe I’ll do another video haha
Glad I found this video. Yesterday I colored my hair thinking it would be strawberry blonde since I’m blonde and it was dark red. Too big of a change for me! So I’ll do this tonight to see how I can fix it...thanks!!
JessyJ318 did it work? :)
It’s been a month and I literally just shampooed it everyday and now I have reddish brown hair. I only tried the vinegar but it didn’t do anything. From what I remember. 😂 Looking forward to go back to blonde. Blonde 👱🏻♀️
@@JessyJ318 It would have been the vit C that stripped it, it is my fav method for removing color, you can also use 20 volume developer, mix that with tons of bicarb of soda and a cleansing shampoo, apply it like a dye with a tinting brush, fully saturate and put a bag over it, leave it for 20 mins then rinse, shampoo and condition. this took permanent red out my hair back to golden blonde color.
@@nikkideanvideography4587 did it make you hair dry and brittle?
@@justsowyouknow a little dry but not brittle at all, and just stripped oils out dry, not damaged dry after a good condition it’s all good again.
I did this today and it works. I used 1/2 cup of white vinegar 1/2 cup warm water with 6 crushed 1000mg vit c and left it on for 15mins. Copper all gone and a strawberry blonde finish.
Amazing! So happy my video was of value to you!!🤗
And thank you for having measurements since I forgot since making the video! I didn’t think I’d ever get any views😅
I have come back to your video twice now to fix my hair fails haha! The last time was years ago now. Thank you for this. Btw I love your voice!
Excellent results! Love it.
Thank you so much!
End result - strawberry blonde? looks great on you! Can't stress enough how good it looks in comparison with blonde, please stick with that color!
Thank you so much! I do love the strawberry blonde and kept it for quite awhile! I always get back to light blonde haha
THANK YOU! i just tried to dye my hair back to its normal colour and its wayyy too dark. your after is exactly my hair colour so im gonna try the vinegar
I’m late to this trying to fade out my hair after it’s been red for about 8 months. You would be so good as a voice actor I’m obsessed with your voice
You look amazing with the red from your profile pic! And you're seriously too kind in regards to my voice, I never thought it was anything noteworthy!
Great tips! I'll have to try that vinegar treatment.
It was Umberto Beverly Hills Demi Italian color in 8.43 :) Thanks for watchin!
Yeah it worked well! And was easy and cheap too🤗
This was really helpful! Thank you so much. I think I’ll just try the vinegar and vitamin C as it seems like the coconut oil didn’t really change anything for ya.
Thank you for watching my second video ever made! The red was a lot of fun for the few hours I kept it haha!
@Road Rage You are so so kind! I've never thought of my voice as anything unique!
You have a great sounding voice.
Keeplookinup777 agree
You are too kind!☺
Trying this right now, praying to the hair gods 🙏🏼🤦🏼♀️
I hope it turned out amazing! ❤️
After the vinegar treatment it looks like u r a natural strawberry blonde
Thank you so much! I enjoyed the strawberry blond a lot🤗
I’m also a natural blonde but when my new hair stylist and I miscommunicated she cut my hair up to my chin (cut like 8” off!) and I figured I always wanted to be a redhead so now is my chance to color it when I don’t have as much hair 😂 I don’t think red is for me - but really it might just be I haven’t found the shade I want
Excellent that worked out
🙌😻
You have such beautiful hair, very long and flowy!
You are too kind, thank you!☺
I naturally have strawberry blonde brown hair. It looks red in some light and that is when I like it best so I’m try to figure out how to make it more red.
I would suggest a shampoo-out color for a few days to see how you like it and then go to a demi permanent :)
Thank you I might have to try that ☺️
Girl same
I’m doing this (vitamin c and vinegar) right now. I had my hair professionally colored before Christmas and it was more brown than red. I went back a month later and she tried to lighten it and make it more copper but it was way to orange red then for me. It’s been a few months so I’m just trying this now myself to see if it helps. I’m curious if it’ll do anything since it’s been a few months since I actually had it colored and it’s not “fresh”. 🤞🏻 also, random but I agree with others on your voice - I love your voice!
How did it turn out? I want to try it. My hair was originally dark brown, put color 8.43, came out way too red
I hope it turned out well if you tried it!🤗 It’s so tricky trying to get a natural looking red, I might be attempting it again soon haha
how did it gooo??
You looked much better with red. Soo so pretty
thank you so much! I wish I would have been brave enough to keep it🤗
This is super helpful thank you for sharing
I'd love to know what color/brand you used to start with. Your hair after you lifted the color looks like my natural strawberry blonde hair, but your brighter red at the beginning of the vid is what I want!
She put that at the top. It's Original red hair dye: Umberto Beverly Hills Demi Italian dye in 8.43
I don’t have tablets but I’m going to try this with emergen-c packets 😂 I hope it works!
Please tell me if it worked haha!
Where’d you get the tablets and did you use white vinegar ?
The tablets are generic from Walmart and it was white vinegar! Sorry 3 years late😅
What was the vinegar/vitamin c ratio?? Was it apple cider vinegar or white??? Thank you!!!!
I used about a 1/3 cup of vinegar with I think about 5 crushed tablets of vitamin c, it's not too specific though so adjust more or less for your length of hair :) And I'm pretty sure it was white vinegar, but either white or apple cider would work though!
Blue shampoo is supposed to tone red/orange tones on bleached brown hair, I wonder what would happen if a natural redhead started using blue shampoo? Would it just make it lighter and closer to blonde? Kind of like the same thing as natural blondes using purple shampoo to get rid of yellow/golden tones to make it more platinum? I wanna see that.
I'm curious too! If I was a natural redhead I would totally try it!
You have a beautiful voice
You are so kind to say that thank you! ❤️
what kind of vinegar? White wine? Apple cider? How long did you leave it on?
I think I did white wine, but I’m sorry I can’t remember the exact time amount!
Thank you so much for sharing!!!!
October_Essence I'm so glad you enjoyed it!!
How much vinegar and vitamin c?
I’m sorry I’m not exactly sure on the measurements! If I ever have to do it again I’ll do an update😁
Would this work on permanent hair color?
I’m sorry I’m unsure if it would have the same impact!
What if my hair is bright red . I’m a natural ginger . Do you think my hair will process similar?
I would guess natural redhead would be a lot harder since it’s part of the hair strand, maybe a blue shampoo might be best to tone it down if that’s what you were looking for!
You sound like Darling from Lady and the Tramp lol 😍
Oh cute I’ve never thought my voice was noteworthy in any way!
Any vinegar?
Yep I used a mix of vinegar and crushex vitamin C tablets :)
Wondering if the color faded like all the way? Also colored my hair with demi perm hair color because everyonesaid it would was out completely. Not so sure right nou.
It never fully came out unfortunately so to get back to my light blonde I had to bleach it!😬
Yes, totally regretting my decision. I had grown out my natural hair and was looking for just a temporary change because I definitely wasn't ready for the maintenance. ☹
@@pauldupreez4473 You may have a chance with it coming out if it's over natural hair! My hair was bleached blonde so it's harder for demi permanents to fully fade off lighter hair especially if it is damaged :)
@@daringlavan3615 its been almost two months now and its hasn't fade like yours did in the video. Still pretty dark even after 4 vitamin c washes. I am going to wait a bit longer before doing any drastic.
@@pauldupreez4473 I'm sorry that sucks😞 Maybe a color remover kit might help! Some are formulated to bring your hair back to it's natural color :)
I thought from the title you had red hair that was fading to strawberry blonde. But that doesn't seem to be the case. I'm a strawberry blond who wants her color back.
What all is in the vinegar treatment? Is it just apple cider vinegar?
You can use white vinegar or apple cider, it's the acidity that lifts the color so I also crushed up some vitamin C tablets into it as well :)
Thank you for sharing. How much of each did you use?
Nan W I used about a cup of vinegar with around 4 crushed up vitamin c pills, feel free to use less or more depending on how much hair you have!
Was the colour permanent? I though vinegar didn’t work on permanent colour so was yours semi? Looks great
@@Lorraineh09 hello! It has been a year since you commented but I just saw this video. I tried the vinegar treatment on a small portion of my hair which I used permanent color and it worked but didn't use it on my whole hair because I started to love the copper red. Hehe
Just wish you would of mentioned the kind of vineagar & vitamin C. As well as how much of it & you used in the mixture😏
I completely agree! Wish I could remember how much I used 4 years back!
Do I have to bleach my hair :/
With the demi permanent I was able to get a lot of color out, but I eventually had to bleach to get back to blonde😬
I'm a red head and I got highlights and became blonde. I went back to red and now I look fake. I'm hoping the horrible things they said about fade and blonde hair is true because I need at least a couple of shades less than I have now. So, out to the drug store to buy Vitamin C pills!
Alejandra Alvarez I’m a natural red head but I want to dye my hair so bad. My mom keeps saying no because i will loose my natural color
I bought a strawberry blonde and it looks like the first clip and I hate ittttt on mE
Me too Reddish blonde and mine looks orange. Hate it.
It sucks so bad when it’s fire engine red and we were wanting subtle😅 sorry this is two years late!
What all did u use now??????😀😁🤣😃😂ok
Haha now I'm back to blonde over a length of time adding highlights! It was fun to try the red and strawberry blonde though!
Oh I like your hair better before you lighten it ,way better! Why would you change that beautiful color that's crazy
I'm glad you liked it! It was a huge change from my previous light blond so I think I just wasn't ready for the change!
you look a bit like Gabbie Hanna
