I needed this today. I’m not a Mormon (I’m Catholic) but we can all learn a lot from a tortoise. We often hear the advice that life isn’t a sprint but a marathon. The same can be said about our goals.
God knows what we really need. It's 12:42AM in the Ph. I was being inactive and just feel lethargic. But I always believed I like me better with God - for I am better with Him. VIDEOS LIKE THIS ARE SIMPLE AND SHORT BUT IT MEANS A LOT TO ME. The shorter, the more I can internalize the message. Thank you creator! ✨
Wow, I did know that there was an actually term for this emotion that I’ve been feelings for years, thank you identifying it and ways to help me move past it.
The divine discontent phrase came from Michelle Craig’s talk with the same name in the Oct 2018 general conference in case you want to read the whole talk! It’s a really good one!
@Giovana Quispe, thanks for your comment! As Paul taught, "faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." We believe that by faith and through the witness of the Holy Ghost, any man or woman can learn the truth of all things, including the truth about Jesus Christ and His gospel.
Good advice. I used to be a runner but have not ran for over 25 years so I am walking 5-6 mile every other morning to lose belly fat and strenghten my legs. I know that in a couple of months I will be running that 5-6 mile and then competitive races ! Wow such purpose and fun but I am really enjoying the walking like the winter Sun this morning was so lovely. Thanks and have a great life.
One thing that stood out to me was the story of watering a plant. Dumping a lifetime of water on a plant would not be good. Watering enough for each time period, say, 1 time per week is good, depending upon the plant. Daily scripture study, especially of The Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ, is essential to gaining Eternal Life. And as President Benson says, ..all things will fall into place. True. I am grateful for this video. The gal got up when she fell - so important to do; to try again and again until success is achieved. #GiveThanks #LightTheWorld
I am going to use this for a family home evening lesson. I hope it helps my children to see that goals can be exciting and manageable instead of immense and hard.
I love this type of content. It is so relevant to our lives, short, clear and showing specifically how gospel principles apply to specific scenarios in our lives.
We have time for working on just one thing at a time….I have discovered that, and I am 65, and have lots to work on after illness, when I fell back into bad habits. Now I just need to use more discipline and determination to get back to where I was. One step at a time!!
i love this video !! i’ve always felt like i need to accomplish my goals right away, so this video helped me realize i should take small steps every day! very helpful, thank you🥰
These gaps are bridges by obedience to small and simple patterns of success aGod has made for us. My spiritual goal this year is better understanding the gift and presence of the Holy Ghost
Felt comforted after watching this. Recently I have felt like what I am doing isn't enough, but watching this video reminded me the beauty of small and simple things❤.
I've always wanted to play piano for the services on Sundays. I started when I was finishing the college. It was so hard to study, graduate and get piano lessons because I was so bad at piano. After, I started to work and it was more complicated dedicate time for piano. I got frustated and quit for a time. Some time after I asked a brother who was married, had a child, work, calling and more how he had achieve to play piano so nicely. He aswered "20 min a day" he told me before he went to school and while his mother prepared for going out he played only 20 min a day. From that moment I applyied that, and now I can see a nice progress.
This is true. Accomplish your goal one at a time. My husband and I created our short-term and long-term goals. We write down the target date of each goal and also discussed the resources to accomplish each goal. I'm grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ.
I loved this video!! Exactly what i needed. I have been reading the scriptures and also the Ensign and what i have learnt is that the Lord loves us and reveals to us what he needs to know line upon line, precept upon precept. He does not want to overwhelm us. So grateful for the leaders and teachings of the gospel in my life ♥️😁🙏🏽
The water one especially resonated with me in two ways . . . I used the same analogy in a district council on my mission, and I actually have trouble staying hydrated, so it applied to me literally 😄
Just listened to the Jordan Peterson talk about the Tao Te Ching and the wisdom of doing the appropriately minimal amount of action over time. To then see it here and to get a clear image and strong feelings of confidence on the issue gives me feelings of gratitude and excitement. Thank you for this lil nugget of gold.
Before you may think that what I'm going to say is useless, I do think that God called me to this video because I stepped outside and asked after I watched a video about the rapture coming soon and how I'm not devoted entirely yet, and I asked the Lord to help me out with this problem, and I went inside, and I had another need for social skills because I have Asperger's and I am desperate for a realistic and fulfilling relationship that is pure and innocent. If you have come to this video and somehow come to this comment, be patient as the video wants you to be, but also be prepared.
Lately, I have been feeling lost and uncertain on how to reach my goals. Then I came across this amazing video! Small and simple but very meaningful. This is the answer to my prayers. I thank God for His love for us. Truly, He knows our needs and always gives them at the right moment and time. I couldn't be happier! ❤🙏
This video came right on time! The topic of divine discontent has become more meaningful to me as I've continued to learn about it in relation to my own life and actions. Taking small actions can be overwhelming for me, but I'm constantly learning that there is no harm to start now, and that in fact, it will help me, and my family, get a bit closer to the joys we want, now and in the future.
Any person trying to be or try to be a RUclipsr no matter what religion you choose or are you in, Follow the LDS process (I’m a catholic) but The Church of Latter Day Saints seems to explain things much clearly and being a slow turtle or similar take that step don’t care about anyone that seems to make fun of you or whoever it is for not doing something fast enough. Take your time but not too much time.
I needed this today. I’m not a Mormon (I’m Catholic) but we can all learn a lot from a tortoise. We often hear the advice that life isn’t a sprint but a marathon. The same can be said about our goals.
Thank you for sharing. This is excellent - even for a Senior at 70. For me, I like slow and steady! 😊💖
Amen🙏❤sir
It's true, we can learn a lot from a tortoise. I am grateful we can also learn from each other ❤
Same here as a Catholic.
Nice to have my Catholic brothers and sisters here💞🙏🏻 God bless!
The initial burst of energy and face plant shortly after is the story of my life! This was very good
Me too!
Same! This was a very good, comforting video

This was very helpful-and realistic. Thank you!
Optimistic and realistic!
Wow, I did know that there was an actually term for this emotion that I’ve been feelings for years, thank you identifying it and ways to help me move past it.
Elder Maxwell packed his talks with a lot of terms like that, and typically used alliterations like that to do it; he was one of my favorites!
Brent Spencer I’ll have to check him out, thanks!
The divine discontent phrase came from Michelle Craig’s talk with the same name in the Oct 2018 general conference in case you want to read the whole talk! It’s a really good one!
I'm not a mormon tho but I get the idea of this message
I think for me It is better than listening to motivational videos, this is more details , specific and realistic
a veces hay que recordar lo que ya sabemos ,muchas gracias iniciare de vuelta mis metas y replanteare mis pasos!

Good ideas😉
It's easy to get overwhelmed when looking at EVERYTHING at once, but small bits at a time brings peace.

i love this so so much this is the guide i was asking for, for years
Always what I need! Preparing for a mission can be a confuse time, but doing small things is the key. So excited to do this!
:D
Impatience and the desire to have"it" right now by shortcuts , seldom works out well.
I am going to use this for a family home evening lesson. I hope it helps my children to see that goals can be exciting and manageable instead of immense and hard.
Doing small and simple things really adds up in the long run. We just need to keep trying each day and not give up.

2021 goals here we come ;)
