This simple story illustrates the power of love and forgiveness in the face of bullying.
A bully in my class bullied me. One time he even hit me. It mad me sad, but I forgave him. When I was chosen to lead the class to the lunch room, I was asked to choose a friend to help me. I picked this boy because others never choose him. I wanted to make him feel good. He thanked me for choosing him. He began to be nice to me. It made me feel good too.

the thing is that most of the time the bullies are not the ones isolated with no friends, it's the victims who are lonely
yeah so true, but no one cares or ever talks about that. they always portray them to fit the narrative of "they are hurt too" when sometimes they just are rude people and you can't speak to their soul or change their heart because they don't care back.
@@TazmilyGum exactly I believe in Jesus but even in Bible God destroyed certain people and his disciples had to fight their enemies because the reality is far from this love your enemies twisted gospel. This church doesn't even realise what they just promoted. there is no excuse for bullying others they are like that and in 99% cases they will continue doing it and even if they become friends they will sooner or later harm you. You cannot keep evil company, even Bible says that.

This happened to my littler sister the other day. I wanted to help, so we watched this video. She learned to be kind to him. And she became friends with the person that bullied her. Before we watched this video we said a prayer. That helped her a lot.

For all those who are bullied (I've been bullied too) don't lose hope. Sometimes it will feel like forever and nothing, not even love works. But if we try our best to be the best person we can be I can promise you will be blessed for it in this life or the next. Never lose hope, for you are not hopeless.

Yami May I'm sorry that's rough! Being a victim of bullying is very hard. Just remember you're better than he thinks you are! Stay strong! I like to pray and read the Bible and Book of Mormon to stay strong. Even if you don't do those things remembering that you're amazing can help! You're special :)

So we can't defend ourselves? Obviously not to much like break a bone but simply letting it happen isn't going to do anything
Well, we can certainly defend ourselves. But even in bullying, it's good to judge when it's good to get physical or not. If it's physical on the part of the bully, use any physical techniques you can to make sure that he doesn't hit you. Don't get physical out of retaliation, though.

+MandaloreMaul77 I used to wonder that too. But I was reading true to the faith and it said take defense if necessary but don't do it with anger in your heart. So if someone's beating you up you have the right to defend yourself but don't feed on the anger inside of you. In the end it only hurts you not them. I know from personal experience

Sometimes the lesson isn't about getting the right results or changing anothers behavior. It's about making us the better person and in turn feeling stronger and a little more complete

This worked for me but it took me a year my bully was your typical hurting bully, he may have hurt me but I just stood there in a hugging position, I told him that I just wanted to be friends and I wouldn't fight back He bullied me everyday and everyday I was determined to make him stop bullying me in a good way. Finally after the longest time at the last month of school he stopped and gave up he knew I wasn't going to fight back and learned that he wasn't doing the right thing the next year when I came back to that school he never bullied anyone and he never has since

As a child, I was bullied a lot; however, when I became an adult I worked very objectively with kids like this and helped to guide them through the obstacle course.

I’m sorry, when I was bullied I kept it to myself for months before telling my parents and I never told my teacher until one day she caught the bullies in the act. Bullies don’t work like this, what you do is talk to someone else and not be like “Hey u bullied me but lets be friends”

man being able to do that is just amazing you must have a heart of gold you see when i got hit by a bully once i burst out at him with a flury of punches......well we didnt become friends but it stopped the bullying.
I had a personality clash with someone at work. We just rubbed each other wrong. I pulled the young man aside one day and expressed my thoughts on the inherent friction between us. I told him that I was going to give him the benefit of a doubt and I wanted him to do the same for me. He nodded and actually hugged me. We came to a trust.

Kelly Robb can't fit everyone into a neat little label. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and being abused can lead to perpetual bullying and other obnoxious attitudes. Being nice is worth a try though and then segregation and self defense.

I love this video. I'm going thorough a rough day today and it reminded me what I have been learning in seminary, become like a child: forgiving and meak.
I'm being picked on because of my past, a man tried to kill me. Almost did, the kids just kept on teasing and calling me names. I still am as an adult. I still have a solicitor for what happened to me as a child. I just no where I'm not excepted and I stay away!

These last two years (2015-2016) I was bullied. The kid was just horrible to me and was always so negative. One day I decided to bake cookies and bring them to his house. The next day at school, he had some of the cookies in his lunch. One of his friends ran up to me and told me that the bully had smashed my cookies on the blacktop. That made me feel bad. I'm not sure why I was his target. I was almost a foot taller than him! Well, he is homeschooled this year. No more negativity.
To everyone saying this isn’t realistic, or that’s not how the real world works, and how it’s not as easy as this, y’all are forgetting the gospel of Jesus Christ is simple. Do what the scriptures and the Holy Ghost guides and you’ll be perfect with everything you do. And when people are still mean to you then I’m sorry but you’re still gonna have to suffer it. I pray you’ll have the courage to continue doing what our savior would do.

No one has to suffer abuse, PERIOD. If someone does misconduct then they are accountable and responsible for their actions/behaviour. E.g. in school get expelled and go to prison if it's extreme

I got bullied...i tried to be nice to the bully....I got punched,kicked, and laughed at... I told my mother and father if i could go to a different school and I went to a private school for the rest of my life
I had never been bullied but I hope it never happenes. Jesus didnt make this a world where we fight with each other, where we bully each other he wanted the world to be a good place where everyone is friends and nice to each other.

I think the best way to change this is to become a forgiving and easy going person yourself. Like if you don't like someone and they make an effort to talk to you, talk to them. That kind of thing. Set the example of being a kind forgiving person and others will follow suit. Let's change the world guys, one person at a time

I've been bullied too but look at the tragedy the bully who used to bully me is now my best friend she never let me go anywhere and gets jealous when I talk too much with other girls once she even said that when we'll grow up we will marry each other(since we were just childs) but I said it's not possible then she said I will find a perfect guy for you so he will take care of you she behaves hard like a rock in front of others but soft just like a teddy bear in front of me I love her so much. 😊

He was about to punch me so i said:"fighting is never the solution"

So i said:"unless you like punches, you can take one"

You know, the reasons why bullies bully you it's because they are either jealous or if you have something that they don't have, and also they bully others because they either have family issues or having a hard time, they bully to make themselves feel better. So don't worry about anything. You are beautiful and amazing just the way you are. I've been bullied loads of times and I've actually thought, hey, I have people who care about me. I have a family that has always been there for me.
Stay strong don't let anyone take you down. They are just trying to find your weakness. :)
I had same story with a child that has autism, but I invited him to birthday and we became best friends.sadly he moved schools so I don't see him often.
I like the part where it says the victim chose the bully because no one chose the bully.
It's kinda like how one of my older cousins told me how to deal with bullying, if they treat you horrible, just be nice back to them, it will confuse them, and soon enough, they'll get bored of bullying you. Then they start to see you as a pretty/handsome person with amazing qualities, will will rub off on them, and they'll want to be your friend.
