God is ALWAYS THERE WHEN WE NEED HIM.. about 20 years ago , my daughter, pregant with her first daughter , and I , were on an icy road and my vehicle was heading straight for a snowplow in front of us .. I did nt know what to do to avoid it and I prayed.. God please help me...suddenly I felt one hand on each of my hands , steering the wheel ever so slightly to the left , then so slightly to the right and we passed the snowplow without hitting it. . . I felt these gentle hands on mine and i know God Saved us that day.. I will never forget that cold winter day.
Every time I watch this I cry. Not tearing up, not quiet sniffles. Full on sobbing realizing exactly who the Savior is and what He has done for me.
Look at God. Ur reply is the first one I saw and I was like am not gonna cry. Well low and behold am crying my eyes out

We often make stupid decisions in life, but we should always remember that our Father in heaven knows us well. He is always ready to help us move on and get over those decisions. We must first however humble ourselves.

This message is just as powerful now as it was when Elder Holland delivered it in General Conference. There is no more powerful message in all the world than that of Jesus Christ's ability & loving desire to save us & lift us during our times of need.

You too can pray anytime anywhere. God will hear. I was taught definitively the first time in my life last sunday in gospel essentials class. My teacher taught of prayer's power. She said it can change lives. Now, I pray whenever i need help, all day long, silently. I pray during driving, before bed, during work. I pray about everything: Fears, anxieties, help, He listens. And prayer is available to you too. Pray always.

@@onlymyrailgununknown2960 I had a similar experience. Just know that Heavenly Father answers prayers in unexpected ways at times, but He cares and knows you individually and personally. His answers do come, give Him thanks and ask for the stength to live according to the answer you've been given. I promise He is there for you.

The older brother doubted or underestimated his younger brother's strength and ability to help him, but he saved his life. I think we somethings do the same with our local leaders, just because they may be younger then us or less experienced in life than us we doubt their advise or even avoid their counsel. If we have the faith the Lord will always provide the way.

No, I think he understood his brother's strength. After a climb like that, and then to lift another like that is extreme strength. It is beyond the strength he would have normally possessed given normal circumstances, however, these were not normal, adrenaline and faith are wonderful

Wow I experienced something similar on a climb in Alaska. Hikes and climbs like this are no joke. I said my “last” prayer that day as well. I love messages like this one. Prayer is an act of faith 🙌

My missionaries from church showed us this video, and me and my family were so inspired by it. It just shows how much the father can persuade you to stay and watch for a little, and how brotherly love can be so strong it keeps you together

eman It just means that when we hear a talk we can guess whether or not it will be made into a mormon message or not because it has the tone/story that can easily be converted to a video form 😊
Mormon Messages are sometimes made based off stories in talks given over the pulpit. This video was made based on a talk by Elder Holland (who is speaking) And when I listened to this talk for the first time, I thought to myself "They could make a video based on this story." That's all :)
He used this story as a metaphor for the Atonement.

Man...I love rock climbing and all that, but this is terrifying. The feeling of being forced to leap up to reach something you can't by staying still is awful, and I really felt this. Awesome video, I choked up a little, it was so powerful!

This is very close to my dads story my father was and still currently is in the us military. He and his team were climbing a ledge about the same size as the one in this story and he was the last one up and his team made it to the top but as he was just about there he fell and landed on his head breaking his neck and shoulder if it weren't for his helmet he would not be here today. He was laying there for hours until he remembered his family back at home so he climbed he kept climbing and kept using us as his motivation and he made it to the top he pushed himself to get over but with only one arm to use he struggled and couldn't make it over. He then prayed the lord prayer and he reached his hand up on top of the ledge and a hand came out reaching for his it was my uncle his brother who was in the same group. He asked "where were you" my father replied "I fell".
If he wouldn't of thought of his family back at home in Wisconsin and if he hadn't prayed to god for forgiveness he wouldn't of made it since his fellow soldiers would have been to late and my father would have been killed by the terrorists that hundreds of thousands soldiers risk their life to kill and eliminate. Thank you for reading my fathers story
