I love your channel! Thank you for putting out such amazing content. I am currently painting my R80/7 engine and I am curious, what grit sandpaper did you use to sand the fins ?

That's one handsome lump of an engine! Polishing those fins is such a laborious and painstaking job but the results definitely make it worthwhile. Are you going to polish up the BMW logo too?

The paint matches the powder coating really well and looks great! I guess the engine might run a little bit cooler in black, it should radiate more heat than the original bare metal colour?

Any baking on the engine? That step is what’s nervously preventing me from using VHT paint

It gets baked when the engine is running. For the more durable parts I powder coat.
