Thank you for this video. My board died with my wet laundry inside. And I didn't want to have to break the lock to get my clothes out.
And what a terrible design for a board. The repairs cost 500 to 600 dollars. I'm just going to go get a different brand from homedepot. Washer only lasted 4 years. Waste of money never again whirlpool
It is sad that so many appliances are poorly designed. Whirlpool once manufactured some great washers. A good washer is an LG top loader. Or a speed Queen. Also if you’re considering fixing, replace the drain pump as well
8:55 mines exactly like this one right now. No display. Nothing. What do you suggest I do? Get a new board?
So if you have no power and you verify that the outlet and the filter- that little white round thing is sending out 120 volts ac, yes replace the board and the drain pump. Also get a surge protector. I think one is in the description
I have the same thing going on, replaced the board and pump... still will not turn on. Any ideas?

Is the pump powered with line voltage?
The drain pump is a powered by a/c current. 110 -120 volts

Why would the drain plug kill the board because ours shut down after i was cycling through diagnostics i was testing the water valve and i backed out and it went out after because it was still having errors after a repair
Hey there. The drain pump is part of the circuitry of the board and it’s known to take out the board. Imagine a loop that connects those two. If the loop is broken, it cannot continue carrying signal. Inspect the board visually and you may see where it has failed. It will be a white-ish spot. Thanks for watching!
