      You just have to machine the block (oil return and fuel rail), everything else is just rods and pistons for under 1000whp (usually). There is a drag racer on RUclips that literally machined the block threw some rods and pistons in (with supporting mods of course) and is running 1300whp.

    Wonder if coating you mentioned on the buckets could be valuable in some of the coyote valvetrain components?

    • @jaymeagher1510
      @jaymeagher1510 Год назад +1

      The DLC coating works well where you have splash lubrication on parts that are swiping/sliding on each other. The Coyote is a roller lobe so it's not nearly as susceptible to the oil being displaced like a flat tappet arrangement. The chains can be a mess on the Coyote but a coating won't fix that. Thanks

      That's a super open ended question. If you drove it like you would "a normal car" you could easily expect a normal lifespan. How the engine is tuned and how you treat the engine will have more influence on it's lifespan than anything else. What do you need out of it? 40-50k miles? Thanks

    Would you be able to share details about oil pump ? Do you modify it yourself or buy it somewhere ?

    • @jaymeagher1510
      @jaymeagher1510 Год назад

      These pumps have their own limitations by design. Georotor pumps suffer at high speed to be able to feed on the inlet side. You can buy a "prepped" pump from Real St and the main advantage is that it's been properly lubricated for start up and is free of any debris. If you're not going to buy a prepped pump just make sure your pump is clean and lubricated during startup. I don't feel there's any gain in flow with modifying the pump, there's just speed limits to the design. Thanks

    My question is, can you do the DLC coating on the cams instead of the buckets? I already did the shimless buckets conversion on my GTE head, so everything is already machined and spec'd. It would be much easier if I do the DLC coating on the cams instead of the buckets. Would that work? TIA.

      GE heads flow air better for the turbo once the heads been ported correctly ect 🤘 also Its a non contact engine so not correctly timing it like you have by not setting it up to the timing mark wont cause your piston to smash valves but you are probably loosing performance by the timing being off slightly, correct it asap if you havent already.

    Great video. Are you guys near Dallas or recommend a shop near me. I'm having issues with my 2J and just been struggling to diagnose them. I would like to bring it by someone with great knowledge to take care of that for me
