After 20 years of marriage, and raising 5 children, we separated 2 years ago. 3 weeks ago, I caught wind of her with another man. We had agreed that we would not be seeing other people until the kids were adults. The first year of our separation, I got deep into therapy and really came a long way. She eventually received some degree of therapy, but continually displayed subtle outbursts whenever I visited, that only conveyed that little had changed. It's very painful to have lived most of my life with trauma's, abandonment, betrayal, ptsd, etc., then have to endure this. I really lean on support like you Maika, you're all I watch on TV anymore. Thank you so much, I feel like you are sent from heaven. ☝️🙏❤

Hi, I just wanted to say a big thank you, I’ve watched every video of yours surrounding this topic of relationships. You have a lovely way about you that soothes and calms me when I stress as I have a general anxiety disorder. I’ve done 6 weeks of no contact at 20 years old which is something quite rare compared to my friends. Within that time I’ve learnt to be by myself again, learn to be independent and grow my interests in execerise etc. today I reached out to my ex with a basic but warming message to ask how they’re doing. They haven’t replied yet but the fact I’m in this place and can do that is something I’m proud of. Thank you x

Thank you so much for responding to my comment, it means so much. I'm in a much better place now, having gotten over my past breakup and learning how to navigate a relationship with someone new, as well as trying to heal myself. Slowly and hopefully.

I’m so glad to come upon your channel and your material. You are very clear and go very deep into this subject with a very even baseline emotional tone when providing these lessons. Thank you.

It's been 6 months now since the breakup, and I did contact her for the first 4 months and she ended up blocking me to my request, in which she stated that she didn't see it was necessary, she did end up blocking me though. I know I can email her or send her a letter, but I haven't contacted her in 2 months, I do still think of her everyday, I'm trying not to entertain those thoughts. I know if I am going to contact her, I know that I won't get the answer I want to. I have been unemployed since the breakup 6 months, but have found a job in December, just viewing flats/share accommodation now.
I'ts tough I had a bit of a panic attack this morning, all I wanted to do is just hear her voice again and hear about her day. I do still maintain hope that someday we will get back together, if it happens it happens, something I need to do to let go of this resistance. It's hard, this is one of the toughest things I've been through all the memories together and the life we shared are no more.

Thank you! Your content is really amazing, I appreciate the approach! There are many avenues of contact! What has worked best for me long term has been low contact. Unfortunately I have had no choice to but use low contact with many family members and X's.(less than once a month to one time a year) I have no space in my life for people what are unable to accept responsibility for their behavior! Choose to put your limited time, energy and resources into endeavors and relationships where you feel enriched to create balanced. You don't need to explain your choices to anyone.

Aah it's difficult. But I started really growing up, when I tried to understand my resistance. It took me 10 months to realise it was not healthy to still hope for his validation. I need to improve my self esteem. Thank you for your videos !

Thank you for taking the time to make all of your videos, they are very helpful. Would you be able to make a video about overly seeking approval/validation from the opposite gender & how to overcome it?

I work at the same company as my avoidant narcissist ex. I saw her for a few seconds last week and our eyes met.. it spiraled me into a 1 hour long panic attack. I really need help healing to a point where i can see her without crying or wanting to break her face.
She was so toxic to me and hurt me so badly.. and now she's just happy, smiling, being extra nice to anyone, acting like nothing ever happened, telling everyone that it "just didn't work out" but that she thinks i'm great and that she's happy for the time we had. She even fucking told me that she wants to be friends! Nobody knows how cold and mean she actually is. Nobody knows what she did to me. How much she degraded and hurt me. How she cheated and lied. How i told her all my vulnerabilities and trauma so she can take care not to hurt me even more in those areas. How she just saw that as weakness and used it against me. And don't get me started on her sexuality that traumatized me so much, that i need therapy for that now. She is a horrible person and now i'm just supposed to play along with her act. I just can't.

Can you contact her and say you‘d like to come get your stuff? It’s helpful to get anything that needs to get communicated sorted.

I’m on the other side of this. My ex blindsided me with the breakup and left while I was working, but left a good number of his things behind. As he broke up with me but hasn’t contacted me about his plans regarding his items, I will be reaching out to let him know when I plan on moving my things out. That way he knows when the apartment will be empty and we don’t have to run into each other. If you were the one to break things off, let her know you’d like to come grab your things so she doesn’t have to deal with them and ask her what would make her feel comfortable when it comes to you owning the removal and pick up of your things. That way you state your intentions while ensuring she’s OK with the process.
It’s going to suck either way, but hopefully it’s the least painful, yet most respectful way to do it.

@@jtaimeChopin I’m really sorry about your break up and hope things work out for the better having a fresh start in your new place. I could relate to your situation, I received a farewell paragraph while I was at work. She never mentioned nothing about my belongings for days and I couldn’t move on. I finally got the courage to text about it and she wasn’t even there when I showed up, I was talking to her mom for a while. It was very awkward when someone ghosts you and then mom wants you to reconcile. Breakups are always gonna suck regardless and every situation is different I guess.
