"Something you'll *now* have to do". I always did it as a kid because it was my first game ever and I didn't have a memory pack so I would do it over and over
I honestly feel sorry for your kid self. This game is ass without the ability to come up with your own strats.
I was in elementary school when this game came out. I brought it home and when I realized I was stuck with rentals and there was the ability to import my own team in, I starved myself and used my weekly food allowance for school lunches to instead buy multiple controllers and transfer paks so my brothers and I could play the game the right way.
This honestly put the player on a bit of unequal footing which made learning the strats extremely fun and rewarding. I was there as well. This was one of my top 3 games in the entire franchise. The latest releases were still amazing ( scarlet/violet, Arceus) but in difficulty left a lot to be desired and were pretty boring.
it can take a little time to get working, but I was able to create pokesaves with pkhex and transfer them into an emulator and play PS2 with my 'own' pokemon.
Glad I’m not the only one. I had to beat this game with all rental Pokémon. Could never finish Pokémon stadium 2 tho 😅
U dumb? Pokemon stadium doesnt need a memory pack, it has a built in memory.
Pokemon Stadium was my first ever Pokemon game, which means I only had access to rental Pokemon. It might be slower, but you can beat Mewtwo with just Chansey.
Mewtwo is actually stupid easy even on R2. It's the Pika and Petit cups which are brutal due to lack of options.
I hated Prime Cup on Round 2, because the last dude would also use Mew lol
I love how the strategy I had as a kid is the best one. My original strategy was to use electrode to paralyze him and get a bunch of Pokémon with explosion/self destruct. I later changed it to the 1hko moves.
Turns out you were just doing speedrun strats
Electrode Thunder Wave into 3 Screeches into Self-Destruct/Explosion. Works everytime
Pika cup is a nightmare in R2
I save stated abused on nso, n64 I got super lucky especially vs lass with a 1st turn freeze. The rentals they give you are crap that’s why, yet your opponent has like 10 Pokémon you can’t even rent 🤦🏽
Toxic fire spin with rapidash helped me get through gym castle but it gets tedious fast chipping away. Speed is a priority with these terrible limitations too.
Ice attacks can freeze, but paralysis and OHKO is much quicker.
They could easily put versions of the old games on the switch but they wouldn't

Imagine trying to explain this to people who figured it out in the 90s before the Internet had the relevancy it did. Insert Narnia do not “the old Magic to me “here.
The easiest strat than I have, Paralyse with electrode and horn drill dewgon always never miss.
Horn drill has 30% accuracy as well 😅
Always never miss? Not really, but there is an exploit to make faster Pokemon hit, just increase accuracy and it will always hit. :D
I vaguely remember a team that began with Electrode thanks to a Strategy Guide I saw at 7-11. Good times when you had to work for tips.
So, back in the day I think the official strategy guide had half of this. You'd use and Electrode with Thunderwave, but you'd use Ditto to transform into Mewtwo and fire off Blizzard and Thunder to do the damage. You'd keep a few others for explosion, or Jolteon for pin missile since it was one of the few decent psychic mitigations back then.
I think it'd only take me six or seven turns to win with it.

Back in the day rental Pokemon was the tactic for my friends and I to try and beat Mewtwo because everyone but me started with gen 2 and I sucked at building a competent team 😅
I only beat the elite four once. I never knew mew 2 was a battle! I’ve always had to use rental Pokémon and it’s rough.
There’s two modes in Stadium. You have to beat ALL the cups in Stadium (Pika, Petit and the 4 levels of Poke and Prime Cup) and Gym Leader Castle (as well as beat the Elite Four and Rival). Mewtwo appears after that. Once he’s defeated, Round 2 is unlocked. The difficulty is upped like crazy but rental pokemon stays the same. You can also start using Mew in Prime Cup afterwards
Paralyze it and then use ditto to unlock mewtwo 😅

That really doesent work due to it using a gen 7 engine movesets and alolan forms plus I don't think it's that easy to make the game compatible with a game it was never meant to support. You really think they'd put that much effort when you spending 50 dollars on some bad emulators every year. They don't care.

Also it's not even their service, it belongs to Nintendo, so all that profit wouldn't necessarily go to all of them; hense less of a reason to make meaningless compatability.
@@guywhoateallthepizza1031 That's fair, Gamefreak wouldn't exactly care to do more than the bare minimum needed to make the game playable, especially considering the hassle that would come from trying to modify and emulated version of the game. I really wish they would consider making another Pokemon Stadium or a remake that can connect with things like Let's Go 🫤
I never had a red or blue cart so I’m proud to say that I beat Pokémon stadium all the way to Round 2 (if you know you know) with all those crappy rental Pokémon lol
It can take some time, but I was able to create pokemon using a save editor (pkhex) and then transferring them into Pokemon Stadium 2.
Its possible now to play it like you never did
The transfer Pak way - Mew with 2+ Explosion works lol
Rental way - just paralyze and use OHKO moves
Freezing mewtwo with jinx's ice punch and never be able to defrost unless you use a fire attack againts mewtwo
I beat him on og hardware first try with starmie jolteion gengar electrode charizard and golem but he negated me thunder wave w rest and was one shotting all my Pokémon but gengar tanked a psychic and landed a crit thunder bolt it was epic
The fight against Mewtu ist too easy
I beat Round 1 when I was 12 with just rental pokemon.
I used Electrode to paralyze Mewtwo and then Ditto to transform into Mewtwo and it made a huge difference.
i poisoned him till i could freeze him, used pincir i think, then bunch of ice ones as the rest
How do they even get to meet so it’s hard with rental Pokemon
For smogon random player, it should be easier, but i once didn't know what to choose as well

I did this out of choice. I wanted amnesia Psyduck for a playthrough so i 100%ed Pokemom Stadium 1 with only rentals (except mewtwo i had to playthrough yellow once JUST FOR MEWTWO) but it took months… its all on my channel btw also did the same thing w stadium 2 except i used my team from yellow
OR, start with Jynx, which will survive enough blasts of Psychic (being half-Psychic type itself) to use Ice Punch a few times, which carries a 10% (maybe 20%?) chance of freezing Mewtwo. Once it's frozen, game over - use whatever you like just to whittle it to zero (such as your Self-Destructing / Exploding options), safe in the knowledge it'll never unfreeze itself!

electrode use thunder wave n flashand one other pokemon w similar moves. then 1 hit ko moves
What about Abra and Exeggcute and Onix and Persian?
Abra - T Wave, Exeggcute - Self Destruct, Onix - Fissure,/Seld Destruct, Persian - Double Edge.
@@PulseEffects isn't Persian's crit chance in gen 1 ridiculous? This makes sense why it's used

Pokemon Stadium 2 was so much better, they need to bring that back, or do Pokemon Stadium 3, us Violet and Scarlet, along with transfers from 3DS, that would be amazing.

Oh I think my way is way better I used electrode too thunder wave and then used bide with snorlax took him out in no time

I beat Mewtwo in 2 turns: electrode t-wave + seaking horn drill. This was my 2nd attempt.
Same here except replace Seaking with Nidoking

It’s simply simulated on the N64 Emu when you have Switch Online Extended.
It would be sick if they remastered it and brought some new elements to it.
the way this short loops is very annyoing and not natural at all
Use the rental chansey with seismic toss it will tank 3 hits and get mewtwo to low hp then use Alakazam with hyper beam you will take 1 hit but finish mewtwo off. Total 3-4 hits to take down mewtwo.
This game never was difficult with rentals. As most pokemon games its all about some decent strategy. Beat this game years ago with a little trial and error. Not much but enough to make it a really fun game.
Then after u use thunder wave mewtwo will use recover and will kill everything with one hit because of the shitty rental Pokémon on the switch version 😂😂😂😂
People get a bit dramatic. I beat this game as a clueless 8 year old who could barely speak english lol

starmie has 115 speed, jolteon and mewtwo has 130, and electrode has 140, but nah, starmie and jolteon are faster
Mewtwo is faster than every pokemon except like 3. Only Electrode outspeeds Mewtwo with a speed stat of 140 while Jolteon and Aerodactyl tie with it at 130.
