Have a 2017 High Country 6.2L, which I bought new. I used Range technology AFM delete and it never killed the battery, that issue was fixed year's ago. Truck sits for weeks never had an issue with battery. Also I added a Trifecta tune, best bang for your buck. The low end grunt in sport mode you'll feel. Had AFM deleted. The 8 speed had no issues, knock on wood. Great video and nice truck.
@@George-on3zm As for them being no good, there's as many, that say they are, and never had issues but there's just as many that are having major problems.
great video! its definitely...scary.. dropping 40 / 50 / 60 k , on a used truck . these prices are ridiculous , and im sure everyone is researching the heck out of this
I want a 2015 Silverado 1500 but man all that stuff ridiculous. I’ve always bought Toyota because you don’t have to do all that. They just make good vehicles that don’t have all these quarks. Why can’t GM not make a truck with problems?
You are 100% right, but you kinda have to look at it like this. Its like you go to work and you spend some money every now and then to get what you want. Buying a Toyota truck, there is nothing wrong with that. But buying it soley because its reliable, is like saving all your money to spend when you are 75 and you are 25 or 30 now. Gotta live get what you like, most people trade cars every 3-5 years. Thanks for the post!
Sierra/silverado are more expensive to buy and use, toyotas are bullet proof, but sierra/silverado are much better in almost everything, it will cost more but you will get a better truck, it’s up to you, what do you want?
The work trucks can come without afm in 2021 it's optional now boys Also the work truck models have less issues because they have less electronic stuff that breaks but everybody wants to loaded ones that cost 10,000 more but you get the same engine and transmission so it makes no sense
I have the range on my 2018 6.2 sierra zero problems to report. With Covid I've been working from home. Sometimes my truck sits for over a week and when I check the battery it has lost very little charge and the truck starts right up!
GM max tow package...I have a 2019 Coachmen 281RLDSLE travel trailer...max wt 7600#s...max combined wt. of 15,000#s. The HD trans cooler on my 2013 1500 Ext cab Silverado 5.3L (9600#s tow capacity) was inadequate. Trans. temp would run up to 215F running around IL, WI, etc. during summer camping season. Recommend you IMMEDIATELY upgrade transmission cooler if you’re gonna tow ANY kind of weight.
Poor Design with AFM system but over all better truck than Ford and Ram.. I own Vortec Max. Replaced cam shaft and replaced all lifters etc.. permanently disabled AFM. Has great power sucks on the mileage but hope fully the engine can last a bit longer.
I know its an old video and ypu probably dont own the truck any more but how was the handling on does 275 65 20 did you have any rubbing on inner wells
I have a 2017 Silverado 4X4 Long Box (6’ 6 “) - Crew Cab, 6.2 L Engine with A/C Seats. Owned since New-172,800 KM (Canada), now experiencing leaking rear brake light. GM Sells no replacement Gasket-Only Sells a New 3rd Brake light…. Ridiculous!!! Cost for a New one $150.00 Cdn. Also hydraulic / electrical Pressure Switch needs replacing. Intermittently works now, controls ABS/TRAILER BRAKE/ STABILITRAK System warning message shows up. $2500.00 Cdn to replace. Non-Repairable Module.
The government bought them out in 2008 Everything went downhill since then That's where AFM started to be coming into the picture but like I said you can get them without it now or you can just get a 2500 doesn't have it Also it's a 400 small box so you can't go around
ha ha i want to know how your 6 speed trans is doing now?? mine makes clunking noise and can feel it at times shifting hard! i have a 15 with the 6 speed
I had a predator 2 tuner on this one. It made it run funny and ping so I sold it. I would look at a customer tune from black bear or something of that sort.
@@justinh8055 thanks for the info. Been gobbling up your channel lately. You're a great help. I really appreciate your channel. Wish I could buy from you!
@@turnerc23 I'm using Trifecta and had AFM completely disabled. Lots of low end grunt in sport mode. Also it firmed the shifts, in my 2017 High Country 6.2L. Not liking the canned tunes.
horrible truck, 2 lifter repairs, never had a ac problem but also on the 3rd transmission rebuild in 223k miles 2015 gmc sierra 5.3 most unreliable truck. buy a 13ford 261k or 17toyota 378k all stock no problems

The 6L80 trans were good. I'm on my 3rd 8 speed on my 2018. I regret getting it.

Stick to 6 cylinder and if its 4x4 make sure it's manual on the floor

What kind of tuner would you put in this thing? Might be picking up a 2015 ltz 6.2 tomorrow, and want to get the most out of that Corvette motor!

How do you make the headlights do what there doing at the beginning of the video?
That's just how the camera picks up the LEDs in the lights. They aren't actually flickering
When you buy used trucks if you don't know who had it you don't have been treated
