    Hey I just got a free SB, it’s a clone I helped build. 84 volts & 3k watts. Had a VERY uncomfortable mb seat and I’m switching that out for the integrated seat. We put 26” wheels on her and this made kickstand options challenging to say the least. I extended by 5” the standard dual kickstand of the sort one finds on typical motorcycles, and this appears to work well. The controller has, what on most controllers is the blue learning wire, but on the SB, the accompanying documentation indicates this to be the limiting to 750 watts & 20mph option, I intend to install this with a hidden ‘kill switch’ type of arrangement, should I ever be stopped for a potentially overpowered e-bike type of infraction. I agree with what you said about the value, as in the process of assembling this bike the original owner spent around $2200.00 all in. The front and rear shocks alone on a powerful powered bike is worth so much. Despite the clone nature of the build, the quality is very high, no Chinesium potted metal, but a good hard steel frame, very robust! The hub motor passes resistance and amphere tests, truthing the manufacturer claims of what it can handle. I intend to further shore up the motor with Grin Technologies Ferofluid and external heat dissipation fins. Also a buck converter to 12v5amps for horn, turn signals & lighting. I will include an alarm and a hidden AirTag and tracking GPS with prepaid sim. In case of electric failure I also have a rechargeable headlight& taillight who have their own batteries. Lastly I want to replace the handlebars with large gently arched old style beach cruiser handlebars. From what I’ve read here and elsewhere I’ll probably want to pad the seat and make other improvements over time.

    To address the cons. I also recently built a similar build. For rear tire changing, there are mods you can find where you install a plug and junction box behind the kickstand on the swingarm. The battery, I agree with you but what I did was avoid Li-ION and went with LiFePO4. With that I can charge it with up to 100A so I can charge my 72v 30Ah pack from 30% to 75% in about 30mins. The seat, both bicycle and moto-x both kind of suck but I plan to rework the moto-x frame and seat for better comfort and position.

    i have 3,5T motor on my 8kW bomber and uphill torque is very nice .. only if the incline is crazy steep, it starts having issues to get me moving .. But i agree with statement, that it's more of a road beast.. it's ok for terrain , but road is defo it's natural habitat and ride is very comfortable and confident even in high speeds

    Great video! I built a 120lb bomber with a 150amp controller, 25ah molicel pack w/ ANT bms, 205 hub, and that sucker will loop at any angle. The battery is where most of the savings are made up on the pre-built bombers. They also mostly come with the low torque 3T hub, and I went for the 5T. With field weakening, it gets up to almost 60, scarily. It smokes surrons on singletrack.

    Really great video, I’m proposing to build my own e motorcycle and keep flipping between choosing hub motor or mid drive but as I’m only keeping it on the road your opinion on how quiet and smooth hub drive is has convinced me to go hub 👍🏼 I will be using an extra powerful 12kw (30kw max) wheel so that should stop the issue of it being sluggish up hills.

      Hi there Christopher, I'm just wondering did you get your bike built?
      I recently built an mtb into an e-bike, it's only a 1500w 48v rear hub (gearless) kit, but I got a 52v20ah triangle battery (fits real nice in the frame) and I absolutely love my build, it's not that powerful, but it's light enough to have enough power for it to be a heck of a lot of fun to zoom about on..
      I'm just wondering how your build went, and what overall set-up you went with?

    • @mickyb.8014
      @mickyb.8014 Год назад +2

      @@VoltedAdventures...I hear you with regards as to the sluggishness if you stop half way up a hill and try to power off using a hub drive set-up..
      It takes a while to get moving again.
      My first (and only so far) build is a Scott YZ4 'Voltage' (oddly enough named) 26" MTB with a 1500w48v Voilamart rear hub (gearless) kit, but instead of a 48v battery I went with a 52v20ah triangle battery - it fits perfectly inside the frame, and well..to be fair it's a great set-up and I just totally love my e-bike build as it's light enough to be just about spot on for the power to weight ratio...
      I'm not too big a guy, I weigh just about 82kg and the bike weighed next to nothing before I put all the extra kit on it...
      Fastest I've had out of it is 38mph, but I'm not bothered about going too fast as anything above 30mph feels like a thousand miles an hour on a mountain bike anyway, I just love how quick it gets to 30mph, it's almost instant, the acceleration of electric power just can't be beaten eh?!
      I love the brutal honesty, most people say mid-drive are better, but you seem to be approaching the hub v's mid-drive issue in a very fair/honest way...
      Both have their perks, but personally I love the quietness and smoothness of a rear hub driven bike.
      Great vid, I've watched a few of your vids and they are great viewing, all the best from across the pond here in the U.K!

    loads of design faults on these bikes,seat height is terrible,non adjustable and uncomfortable,brakes weak,dangerous and ineffective,no provision on swing arm for chain tensioning,forcing you to use vulnerable derailer configurement,wheels made of cheap monkey metal that crack near the hub where the spokes fit,the battery chargers pack in and like youve stated,rear wheel,tube changes are a nightmare.why couldnt they put connectors on the wires to save you stripping half the bike down ???

    1 Thing I HATE About you calling this a Stealth Bomber is that it isn't a stealth Bomber!! What I am saying here is why not review it for what it actually is? A bike like this could be great but who makes it?? What is the model?? How can anyone learn from this video if we don't know what the .... it actually is :-)

    • @VoltedAdventures
      @VoltedAdventures  Год назад +1

      I mention its a stealth bomber clone in the video, apparently you didnt watch it. also I have plenty of videos about this bike and what it is including how to buy it and from where...

      @@VoltedAdventures I promise I watched a lot of you having fun on your bike. I also appreciate that you have taken time to do this. One day the manufactures will call their bikes by a name ( lets say Blah...) and perhaps even call their bikes by a model num ( lets say wealth bummer for instance) This way we could easily trace each bike for spares and service reputation quality etc when needed. Every budget manufacture calls their freaking bike a stealth bomber clone... C'mon surely we can do better. BTW a clone is an exact copy ;-) Still, I cannot stem the tide.

      @@petesmith1 whats funny is that these bikes have become more popular than the original. If it had a name I would use it, these are nameless bikes tho

    • @petesmith1
      @petesmith1 Год назад

      @@VoltedAdventures Of course there are more of these type of bikes than the original - Clearly due to economies of scale, low wages, local economics at point of manufacture, cheap prices etc. We should Encourage the manufacturer to name their bikes, Suron do, along with others. I do know if I made something I would be proud of it and give it a name - unless I was a covert business that choose to evaporate at will. Calling everything a stealh bomber is similar to calling all makes of cars BMW, Audi, Lada, Alfa, Ford Lexus etc A CAR!! Yep a CAR it is but they have makers and models. It makes sense to be responsible and accountable for their actions so they can get repeat business.

    U know it’s crap when the first thing mentioned as likes is the sound of the bike 😭😭😭 bro please hub motors are silent by default. U said nothing about the bike that matters!! Not everyone is a noob to bikes . Talk about things that’s matters to like on a bike. Like the forks! Are they cheap ? Do they leak? Etc . The rotors how are they? Are they beefing etc ? Do the bike stalls after continuous throttling? Talk bout what matters dude🤙🏾 or else u hadn’t giving no1 a reason to buy or not buy ur stealth clone 😂
