      Hey, they are called EIG cells. Very easy to find on eBay at the moment for roughly £13 a cell. I was initially going to build my own battery pack with 18650 cells but it was a lot simpler and safer to use EIG instead.
      For the size, they literally fit inside the frame with about 1mm of space on each side.

    i have the same frame and was a little worried about the rear drop out size compared to my hub motor. did you just tighten yours down to fit? i just want to know before i tighten mines down too far and break it or something lol. i cant get the disk brake on without tightening the nut tighter but im too nervous to try lol. what did you do?

    • @RascalTech
      @RascalTech  3 года назад

      At the moment I still have a gap. I tried to tighten it down with a minimal amount of washers but the bracket did not align parallel to the rear hub. So im currently considering a few options at the moment, and the last resort is a sledge hammer.

    • @bigboypapaboy
      @bigboypapaboy 3 года назад

      @@RascalTech i got mines alligned. i just saw another video with a guy with the same frame as ours and he just had some washers that came with the caliper (to the looks of it) on attached the the bike frame instead of the caliper with longer screws to hold everything in place. if you can visualize that. i might just get another disc brake adapter and just put them side by side with the longer bolts for extra sturdiness besides the washers. but yeah i just did what he did and tightened the bolts on the hub motor a little more to close the gap just a little bit more (not too far with the longer bolts and washers) and it spins good with the disc brake on.
      here is the video of where i saw this.
      couldnt find the video lol but here is something similar. you can see he just has longer bolts and nut as spacers/washers

      You could possibly fit a mid drive motor, but for something of this weight you would really want at least 4kw for it to be any good. So that would potentially throw the common Bafang mid drives out the window. Something like the CYC 3kw to 5kw mid drive could work with some modification, but I would honestly just go for a Rear hub motor and have some proper fun !

      When I was last out riding this something caused the power to cut. At that moment I then realised how heavy the bike actually is with the steel frame 😂

      @@robz8989 Nicee man, I was looking to fit a mid drive to my latest bike build but I opted for a 1000w rear hub motor instead. For a pedal bike it’s a ripper 🔥.

      @@RascalTech mid drive all the way for me the real wheels can bounce out if not Anchored both sides good happen to me once and wrote the wheel off, you can get 1000w mid drives but the 48v 750w with pedalling in the correct gear you can get some high speed over 40mph
