I love this piece and actually own this exact same model. I was so happy to see this on your channel because you never see the “sterile” dial. One of my favorite pieces in my collection.
Love te minimal and decent layout of the dial highlighted by those orange accents. I love the fact that these classic designs make a comeback, but with modern movements and features.
Orange seconds hands are killer. Very vintage vibe - nice.
Tim I almost bought this watch on numerous occasions but resisted as I was in conflict with the Hanhart 417 ES! Since the reissue of the Hanhart 417 ES 1954 edition however, this is what I bought. I’m not disappointed but will still keep this Nivada on my list!🤤👍🏼😎🇦🇺
I’m also torn between the two!
@@ChristopherCadlum Me too, but as my first "serious" watch I'm going to get the Nivada!
Glad to see my baby getting some love! It’s a fantastic watch. And great video Tim.
The other day, a colleague of yours reviewed the Soldat Automatic Chronograph. In the aesthetics department, that one ticks all my (chron0graph) boxes.
Hi Tim, interesting watch, not too flashy and just the right size for those of us who don't have Rambo-sized wrists. But those two sub-dials still seem to be watching me at all times. That's why I prefer the Antarctic Spider at 0:42. I commented on it some months ago and I still think it's a nice/beau/hermoso/wunderschöne timepiece. Regards from Chile!
They seem to have found a nice middle ground with respect to what they offer given they seem to be pretty much a micro brand. They might not quite have the no compromise approach as Airain/Lebois, but they do understand the aesthetic, their sizing decisions make sense for a vintage inspired watch.
It’s super common for such brands to run out of stock, that can be particularly annoying, but the asking price of these watches makes for a casual enough affair that it’s still tolerable, for the most part.
It’s great to know they are out there making these watches happen, they are desirable.
I own one with the broad arrow hour hand and am a big fan. Also bought the Antarctic.
Nice and uncluttered!
Nice looking, but not my cup of tea - too small, handwound & chronograph. Good review as always tho, thank you Tim 👍🏻👍🏻
I’ve seen a lot of videos on this brand and I have to say the bang for buck ratio seems to be in this brands favor.
how many winds does it take to fully charge? anyone pls advise.
I didn’t see that second hand move once.
Not for me, but I can see it appealing to a certain person.
You need to make it more clear that the line up comes in 3 different movements, hand wound, automatic with screw down crown (these are often sold out) and the hand wound Valjoux 23 VZ. The Orange Boy "SL" stands for "Special Logo" - probably something critical to explain - hence why there is minimal script on the dial. The GMT version was just released a week ago as well as the coloured bezel versions. There is also a a date version called the ChronoKing, the "Paul Newman" sold out, the "Big Eye" , a "Tropical Dial" and the Arabic dial version sold in UAE (sold out) . All pertinent information to make brief mention in your review. Otherwise a good review.
Hey Tim! The code doesn't seem to work, is the promo over?
Oops, no it‘s not. Which product?
@@CasebackWatches thanks! I'm trying for the N.G. Tropic Black Rubber Strap, I'm assuming that's an option off their website.
Perhaps only in combination with a watch? The instructions here are pretty basic …
I quite like the looks but not the price! I recently saw a new tissot auto chronograph utilising an ETA movement for less than this. I'm not sure who will buy this.
Plenty of people at least relative to the small numbers they likely produce. Look on their website and you’ll likely find a majority sold out at any given moment. They are produced in relatively small batches.
These guys are producing a very nice watch, quite faithful to a vintage aesthetic - and they keep the price reasonable. Compare what they offer to other similar boutique/micro brands. Their prices fall roughly in the middle. They do sell out routinely, but at least it’s not like anOrdain where you need to find a seat on a waitlist simply to have the pleasure of plunking down a bunch of money before your watch us even built.
Tissot is a member of the SWATCH group. They make very well designed watches and value and convenience their middle name. Comparing this micro brand to an entry level SWATCH group brand, anyone can grab the low hanging fruit, if Tissot had to go it alone, they’d likely be more expensive if they still existed at all.
