- Bulova brings back an iconic watch from the 70s: The Super Precision in a TV format. The watch combines the classic look with a modern quarz movement, sapphire crystal and a neat bracelet.
Watch of the Week.
This is a series of brief review videos about recently introduced wrist watches. Every Monday I give you in about 4 minutes an overview about style, specs, price and availability of a new timepiece. From 100 Euros or US-Dollar up to 10,000, from Timex, Alpina and Longines to Rolex and Zenith.
It's not a commercial, so you will hear my independent and unbiased opinion.

Note: 262kHz is above the range of human hearing. You were thinking of 262hz.
Your right, sorry, I couldn't resist to make a reference to tuning fork watches.
@@CasebackWatches relatable. Hard to beat the basic wonderment of a watch that hums to keep the time.
Efficient review. The silver version isn’t available on Bulova’s US site. I just got the blue one which has many dimensional aspects depending on how the light hits it. Very happy with my purchase.
Fluted bezels are showstopper for me never mind the price, not a big fan of quartz but that movement in something else might be worth a look.
Fine review Tim. Thanks!
Thanks for watching.
Great review Tim. Yep, 50mm water resistance would be better at that price point .
The Bulova Accutron movement was absolutely amazing. It was a non-quartz electric movement. The Astronaut from the '60s is still a watch that I want. I wish Bulova would re-release it, with the same original accutron movement and a more robustly built bullet bracelet, at 40mm. I still have my grandfather's accutron movement watch from the '70s. Also a cool piece. But not as cool as the Astronaut w/ a bullet bracelet.
yup, me too. Guess ur not of fan of the new one?
@@jfgarnant Hey man! The new one doesn't have the Accutron movement, right? Without that, who cares? Like I said, Bulova, if you are listening, re-release the Astronaut, with the original Accutron movement, in a slightly larger size (40mm), with all the original dial and bezel color options (they were all cool). Then remind the horological world how original and unique that movement was. Redesign the bullet bracelet so that it is more robust and higher quality. This would be amazing.
Why so expensive? Rally nice review on point 👌🏻 👍
The dial colours are too bright for my taste. If they followed Tisso's lead and put a digital movement in that case, it would be very tempting.
A thousand bucks in Canada. 😂 wait until they discount at least 30%. Nice in the green.
I own a 1977 Super Seville, fully restored it myself. I was very disappointed with this release. No day and date with day at the 12, 30 meters water resistance, no branding on the butterfly clasp, no improvement on the lume and in photos anyway the dial looks underwhelming. I really like the sweep of the seconds hand though. I will hold off buying until I can go to an AD as see them in person.
Looks good. Unfortunately the bracelet is integrated, WR is too low for a GADA watch, lume is probably not excellent. I think the price is a bit high for the specifications but at least the watch as a whole is heading in the direction that is more watch enthusiast friendly and less fashion watch.
I really like the HAQ movement in these, and I'm hoping Bulova will release a Precisionist that's right for me. So far the one that tempted me the most was the Jet Star w/ butterscotch sunburst dial (ref. 97B214). Anyway, I excel at waiting. Bulova makes many watches that look awful to me, but they manage to keep my interest with releases like this & the Jet Star. I think these new Super Sevilles are pretty cool, too, even if they're not for me. Regarding the movement: would be nice if you could adjust forward/back in 1-hour steps to correct for DST changes or travel. That feature would allow you to take full advantage of the watch's accuracy to minimize setting the time as much as possible. I have a non-HAQ quartz with this feature, and even there it's nice.
i took the timex day date over the bulova day date
I’ll pay 300 cash right now.
@tk423b you're living in the past ...Good luck with that
I’ll pay 299 bitcoin right now
Nice video. It’s a quartz, skoda (it’s a pity).
@@IDKline My IPhone does better than that and I still refuse to use it to tell the time.
@@IDKline I have a strong preference for mechanical watches. I’m a bit old fashioned. I carry a pocket watch about half the time. It’s just a personal predisposition for anything old.
Very nice looking watch, but today 2024 50mWR? Come on 🤷🏻, I know it’s not meant to swim with it, but 100m WR it’s a good insurens if you by accident comes across water in some way, falling from a boat during summer..
Im usually not a fan of 70s esthetics, but that's not bad. I'm saving up for a Hanhart though.
Yeah. Uh, no. Not for me, but I think your review is fair.
Have they made a mistake with the Roman numerals? At four they have IIII not IV
That's very common in watch making. Look at the Cartier Tank for example, there you have it too.
@@CasebackWatches I had never noticed. Thanks for letting me know, and as always, the great content!
a lot of brands use that and it's actually called "Watchmaker's 4"
@@razfan very cool to know, thank you!
Why for the love of God would they put "262kHz" on the dial? It's totally not needed. Poor decision to put it on there.
If that text wasn't there I'd love to own one.
Why do people today prefer mechanical movements strange considering they're unreliable and wears out quick and don't even keep good time.
If you're going to show up fashionably late for a party, you'd better be bloody fabulous.
This isn't.
