In this instance more accurate than the Seiko Spring Drive on paper (10 sec/yr) and approaching the Citizens T100 movement (1 sec/yr) and nowhere near the cost cost of either. Ooh, I love that bracelet's design! Also, being a fan of 70s design school I like all of the watch variants. They should have a 100 m WR though, I mean is this a real problem these days? It's not like it is a strictly "dress" watch, either... To me, 200 m WR should be currently a standard for affordable divers (and G-Shocks), while 100 m is a norm for a "semi-dressy", sports watches. I can accept 30 m - 50 m WR only on those fragile, blingy dress watches, which are supposed to be worn only on special occasions.
Funny thing is, I was born in '77, but it's not like I'm specifically after designs from that period. It's just whenever I see something I really like (a car, a watch, a radio, even a desk lamp or something) it only later turns out, that it's a design from 70s... Weird coincidence.
So naturally I'm into these more conservative of Bulova's models, though you can still find some newer designs, which are quite OK. For example model Modern Millenia Ceramic, especially the black one with subdial, is partially skeletonized (and I'm not a big fan of these), but in my opinion it's still not overengineered, like some other of their newer watches, and it looks very decent.
While I always liked chronographs and I'm OK with busy dials, I don't like when they are OVERLY busy, which is why I don't like much of Bulova's newer models. I think Lunar Pilot has just right proportions of everything,
anything more starts looking a bit tacky.
Also the Computrons D-Cave are a bit "meh" for me. Not bad or anything, but not really exciting, either. Personally, I prefer the "old" ones, namely the classic, golden one with red LEDs, and the silver with blue LEDs.
Some of the Curve designs are pretty nice, too (though not all of them). For my personal collection, I'm definitely going with Lunar Pilot, or one of other, more "classic" Precisionists.

The Awake Nasa watch is limited Jody and I think it should have been single tick Quartz instead of auto, I mean it has a countdown timer and the second hand glides over it .......

I have the limited silver dial one on they way. Probably size the bracelet, then wear it on the leather strap. Think it looks better. Kind of excited about that quartz movement. Very cool!
    Thanks for the great review.

This is a really great looking watch despite the mediocre 50 meters of water resistance and not so good lume. The red version is the one I really want but 600 USD is a lot for a quartz watch. I would really love to see one in person but it doesn't seem like any retailers have them in store.

The brown strap with the yellow stitching would have gone nicely with my Doc Martin’s back in the day…

Picked up the Merlot dial on sale. I really like the watch but wonder why they went with a white sweeping seconds hand instead of brushed silver...

I have 3 precisionist watches and you are right about the accuracy and battery life. I do love the sweeping second hand and it's grab and go nature. Been waiting for new models and this one looks good, but too pricey for what you're getting. Keep trying Bulova.

You are correct. Bulova has a split personality. One makes hot garbage mall watches and the other makes beautiful pieces that resemble those released during their golden age. These were definitely the latter. This is the Bulova I root for.

Hello Jody and thank you for another great review.
The thing is I noticed lately that Bulova is being Citilova more and more...
Anyway they all are still cute and curious too.

Thanks for the battery info. My Accutron II has stopped. I think I've worn it twice! Four screws on the back, so I thought I'd ask about battery before I risked scratching it. Onto the Bulova site, asked about the battery type giving the model and movement type, was asked the reference number for the watch and was then told it would have to come back for inspection. That was from Citizen who own Bulova. Btw I've also seen that sort of battery in a Casio Edifice watch.
