I like how Batman never laid a hand on any of them. He knows that they're just lost, abused, desperate boys and that none of this is really their fault.
He himself was once in their position. That's why he suggested they go to the orphanage, Because that's where he was raised
That’s usually his approach, isn’t it?
@@amanialsoquar5073 raised in an orphanage and he was the son of a billionaire, let's not forget alfred
Turns out Poison Ivy has the same weakness as Spider-Man
Small knives
??
@@mlpartclub412 is the Amazing Spiderman. It's still crap

I like how each of the three Robins have their respective weapons. Dick has a pipe that could be used as an escrima stick, Jason has a knife and Tim has a bo staff.
I thought dick used a staff as robin and switched to the sticks as nightwig
@@Rameon
He did, but Tim Stuck with the Staff when he got older, Jason has a Dagger when he's Red Hood
@@baligong3592 I see
@@baligong3592 it would’ve been pretty screwed up if Jason had a crowbar lol
Not only that Jason switches the knife to his other hand just like we see him do it in that one scene in under the red hood
Is no one going to talk about how Jason, Dick, and tim were family? Like that is the most adorable this ever
Why does Tim look like butters from South Park 🤨😬
Gotham by Gaslight if we were to see them older I wouldn’t think they’d be Robins, I’d think they’d be Talons
@Gordon Wright Jason should've been holding a crowbar.
@@WesbirdlyO That was in bad taste, man.
@@WesbirdlyO Lol, was going to say this.
@ 2:35 You can see all three Robins' personalities based on how they react:
Dick: "Um, thanks. Not what I had in mind, but thanks."
Jason: "So cool! Hit him some more!"
Tim: "How was the injury made? Did you know where to hit exactly, or how much pressure?"
Nice analysis!
I know right
Is tim really like that?
Capitate Cab Yea Tim was the smartest Robin, so he’d def be the most inquisitive of the group
Capitate Cab Tim Drake is the smartest Robin of them all, he found out Batman’s identity instead of being told his identity is one example of his intelligence
I love the reincarnations of Dick, Tim, and Jason and their brotherly bonding. 💖💖 sorry Dami next time.
Screw Damian. He's the worst.
I want to see a Gotham by Gaslight sequel.
@@leohino9211 Material of tiny Dick, Jay and Tim being raised by Bruce alone warrants a sequel!
As a red head myself, I love it when artists remember that Jason is a ginger, Batman used to dye his hair black so people would think it's still Dick in that Robin costume.
Even when Jason first came back as the Red Hood, he had red hair for a good while (for 2 major storylines at least) before going back, without explanation & mention, to black.
He even had his own red-haired sidekick as Red Hood, with a former victim of Professor Pyg (a "failed" dolotron) named "Scarlet".
Oh well, at least his Rebirth run kicks ass. Can't complain much.
Nightwing. Red Hood. Red Robin. All three incarnations of Robin the Boy Wonder inside a single scene. Always a plus in seeing the different mantle holders to witness the resultant blend of personalities and thinking.
Lol if Damian was there he'd still be trying to fight batman.
Robins: *We got no choice he just chased us down find us again*
Batman(breaks leg): he won't be chasing anyone for a long time
Some of the brutal efficiency he's been missing lately in the more kid friendly makes. It's nice to see this on occasion, if a vigilante like the batman pops up he's gonna have to do something more than stick them into the revolving door asylum that is arkham and in the time frame of the movie his brutality was probably less contested by the public.
Jason originally had red/orange hair, and I love how they made his hair that color.
this entire movie feels like a fanficton and I'm. okay with that
And im... Oddly, Okay with that.
[JAZZ MUSIC STARTS TO PLAY]
Hey companies that specialize in fiction create their own AUs as well. Besides given enough time, the current iteration of a work will deviate from the original property.
It's based on a comic but they changed some things like who Jack the Ripper is probably to keep it interesting for those who've read the comic
Honestly, it's bloody amazing.
@@theblacksheep7129 Indeed. I haven't read the comic yet, but it's something I plan on doing soon.
Jason in this is smart he’s left handed but was using his right while mugging so it’s harder to say it’s him.
You can tell cause when Batman shows he gets serious and switches to his dominant hand
Cool. I never knew.
Erik Thomsen the best thing is at the being left handed was seriously taboo. Hell when my grandma was a kid she had teachers try and force her not to use her left. Had a few scold me to while at a catholic elementary school, don’t remember it to well thou tbh
So not only is Jason a soulless ginger but a soulless left handed ginger lmao
As a left-hander, this was just a pretty cool movie to me.
Considering the times, hiding his left-handedness is a matter of survival and he's always been a survivor.
That scream was blood curdling. Very realistic especially her blood filled gasping for air.
I like these type of stories. Down to earth with a realistic villian and a mystery for Batman to solve. I read this comic awhile back I'm glad they did something with it as it was an obscure story.
Interestingly the real murders by Jack the Ripper always seemed to have been silent, with those questioned never hearing anything out of the ordinary. Definitely a contrast to this scream that was loud enough to lead Batman directly to the murder.
i'm glad i wasn't the only one disturbed by that lol
Such a nice little detail of Jason Todd being a red head like he was originally in the comics.
They also kept Tim and Dickson eye color, and the all the boys weapon choices.
@Flickster8979 My guess is they meant "Dick Grayson" and it was shortened to Dickson for whatever reason
@@darkmelodies2694 Dick's real name is Richard, but Dickson was a name used in the 19th century too, though it's more surname then first name now.
@@girl1213 Huh, I didn't know that. That's kinda cool actually.
@@darkmelodies2694 I like to study Victorian era London history and culture as a hobby so I find bits of information like this. Still I agree that LilBluAviatrix likely just made a spelling error rather then this being Dick's name in this story. Still happy to know my tidbit was well received.

Ivy’s death brought back trauma from her death in Arkham Knight. STOP KILLING MY FAVORITE CHARACTER DC ITS MEAN
Because she’s hot?
@@y.o.s6000 Because she's a fun character. *And* hot.
I can't believe she died a hero in the game. Poison Ivy. A hero. Those 3 words being used in the same sentence
DC is Savage ruthless. Marvel was like we're going to get every single hero we got on this masterpiece movie (Avengers Endgame) and what can they do about it?
DC was like "Release the Clown!" ( 🃏 Joker🤡 )
Ivy saved Gotham?! Sellout.
Dick is the only one of the three boys that was actually voiced by a guy. Jason was voiced by Grey Griffin (who is usually Catwoman), and Tim was voiced by Tara Strong (who is usually Harley Quinn)!
Mostly because it's easier for women to voice little boys because they, normally, have higher voices than men.
Grey Griffin was also Azula from Avatar the last airbender!
@@geekgal3477 Plus kid actors eventually grow up and sound like adults while women actors can sound young for years.(Tara Strong as Timmy Turner for an example)
@@LukeMotionz Exactly
@@geekgal3477 exactly. We all start with higher pitched voices, but growth and hormones makes the vastest majority of men and some women get a darker voice (since hormones influence the rigidity of the vocal cords). Also, in regards of the Voice Acting world, it's easier to use women to represent little boys because little boys voice-actors eventually grow up and you need to keep training new ones. It's actually better if they become the official actor of a growing character, but not if the character is stuck in childhood like in many cartoons and animes that don't progress in time.
Despite the fact they didn't show the girl's injuries and just knife and blood on the floor/censored AKA Alfred Hitchcock technique, it still somehow retain the terror, it made you feel horrified, I think it's the eye and the movement of the feet that sell the scare the most.
Personally for me it is the screams.
It's horrofiying that you can hear her scream turn into a gangle, like drowning, because he probably slash her neck at some point.
@@juliantotriwijaya9208 Sadly. No. Most likely she's drowning as blood rushes into her punctured lungs
@@RequiemPoete stab to the chest then?
@Frank Castle because your brain filling th gap/imagination is way worse/strongger thatn any imagery(practical or cgi). You brain always imagine the worst possible thing/posibility to fill the gap, whic makes it more scary
I love this Batman, scary and tough but still has compassion beneath the tough exterior. Very true to his character.
This movie is so underrated!
Look at all the robins!
They even have their signature weapons that’s so cool!
holy shit, didn't realize it!
I honestly think the Robins are cute. I’m sad about Ivy since she’s my favourite female villain ;-; she’s normally pretty dangerous but here she was just a show dancer. Too bad she couldn’t have been more pivotal.
This isn't Ivy. This is Isley.
Joshua Gross literally the same person bruh
@@JakeGreySummers Not in this universe. In this universe, she's Pamela Isley, a young woman raised in the same orphanage as Bruce Wayne, working as an exotic dancer to feed her drug habits. As it would be, she'd also taken up prostitution as a means to further bolster her income, though it made her a target for the Ripper. No powers, no insanity, no alter ego.
Joshua Gross I’m aware of that
@@JakeGreySummers Then why question the obvious?
When Tim says “after what happened to Johnny Gobs” that’s a reference to the first Batman movie in 1989. Nice touch.
2:40 God that blood curdling scream is terrifying... 😬
Seeing the original Robins was an awesome treat, especially how in tune their characterizations were. And I simply ADORE how Dick is the one holding Tim's hand in this scene!~ :D They were always really close
I like how they mention Johnny Goobs. If anyone recognizes the name: that was the name from the 1989 Batman, when the two thief’s mugged the family in the ally in the beginning of the movie.
“Not what happened to Johnny Gobs.
“Johnny Gobs took a rip and walked off a roof. No big lose.”
That ain’t what I heard at all...I heard...the bat got em.
The bat!!?? Ah man Gimmie a break will ya!!
The second I heard that name I immediately looked up the 89 intro and there it was
I caught that as well. Nice little touch.
Sad to see Ivy go, as well left alone to be killed like that.
Tim drake
Jason Todd
Dick Grayson cameo
I loved how they included them like this I just wish he adopted them in the end
Coulda sworn he did.
did you watch the movie?
He does! 😅
He did
It’s cool to see Batman fight like a boxer/brawler
RIP Poison Ivy
They still added Dicks catch phrase, Jason's red hair, Tims curiosity and made the three Robins all while keeping family. Golorious!
"After what happened to Johnny Gobbs." Nice reference to Tim Burton's Batman.
Every Batman movie has one scene of Batman being an absolute badass in a hand to hand fight.
Watching ivy die was kinda a sad feeling
JACK THE RIPPER STABBING PAMELA ISLEY IS SO MESSED UP

That’s Jack the Ripper for you.
I hate to see the body!!!
2:54 Impressive Blood Scream.
It was terrifying to listen. Voice actress did a great job.
He took begone thot way to serious
Lucrative weed Jack the Ripper also known as the original Thot Slayer
Ya gotta give him credit he would have been perfect for anime thot slaying
This interpretations of the Robins is one of the best I've ever seen. They get their mannerisms down to a T. Dick is the protective leader of their gang while Jason is impulsive and Tim is calculating and cautious. They also get their respective weapons to translate perfectly into the older time period. Dick uses a pipe in place of his nightsticks. Jason uses a knife and even though he's know more for using guns he does carry around a few tactical knives and uses them when he needs to. Finally Tim carries a pool cue in place of his Bo staff. And while it's never shown you can say that the GBG version of Damian is a abandoned baby that the boys find alone in the streets and decide to take care of him.
Rip Poison Ivy
I love how Jason is the one attacking Batman, a nice Red Hood tribute.
Noooooooo! IVYYYYY! WHYYYYYY?!?! :(

This death made me sad 😰😓😭😢
Why did it have to be ivy
It's not Ivy unless she's part plant and a botanist.
@@RequiemPoete yes it is ivy.
The nod to Leslie Thompkins was a really nice touch
The Johnny Gobbs thing is reference to Tim Burton's first Batman movie.
This was such a wildly inventive story, loved the villain twist and the three Robin's
3:08 captions: *rip*
I love it when Tara Strong does kid voices.
if they ever make another Gotham by Gaslight movie and we get to see Victorian Nightwing, Red Hood and Red Robbin, i will be over the f-ing moon XD
I love the depiction of their ages being the number of which robin they were
Dick: 1st Oldest
Jason: 2nd Middle
Tim: 3rd Youngest
That’s how it is in the comics too. Robins from oldest to youngest: Dick, Jason, Tim, Damian.
It's suprising how much more horrific sound can make a death then just gory visuals.
1:58 Victims: we gone dip out! Thanks
That smile jason gaved after seeing bruce break that guy's leg
This Batman never hits his kids, which clear is a shock to them and again that he would take the time to ensure their tormentor wouldn't torment them ever again. No wonder they cling onto him after this: he's the first adult--the first *male* adult--that had to means to hurt them but never did, even though they were told to hurt him. That means a lot to street kids who only ever have each other to rely on.
WB should make a live-action movie of this under the DC Black label, or something like it. There are plenty of other Batman characters to do an elseworlds story with.
It would've been more fitting if Jason had a crowbar.
this batman animated show is great and really add something unique and new to the comic
“Johnny Gobs”, Outsiders, Robins, Jason, Dick, and Tim, plus Tara Strong? It’s Easter up in here!
"Don't tell him our names *JASON.* "
2:43 Batman and the three boys Jason, Dick, and Tim suddenly hear blood-curdling screaming which freaked out the boys but to Batman something doesn't smell right.
RIP Red.
If a sequel is made for this, I want to see a version of the Joker who is like some mysterious Gatsby type man but the mystery is how his face looks(all pail and smiling). He is also a dealer of deadly gases for a war going on. He could have different foundations building these weapons run by Red Hoods who know what the Clown’d plan is. His public self is Arthur Wayne, Bruce’s older brother who indirectly caused his parents death. He is shrouded in mystery and we only catch glimpses of him in creepy lighting. The only person he will see is his therapist, Harline. He finally reveals himself to the public but as it turns out, he mostly looks normal, the the Joker was just a boogeyman and the Clown was Harley. The Joker and the Clown were two different ideas. Batman could also be poisoned by the gas causing him to see the Joker, like when he catches silhouettes of his brother.
This shit is why I *LOVE* elseworld stories.
Batman : I'm going to adopt these 3
Poor Isley...
jason has a car part in his hands, or a crowbar, reference to canon idea of him trying to take a tire off of the Batmobile or the joker beating him
