1 little detail I adore, In the first fight vs the ripper, in the slaughterhouse, Bruce was mainly trying to outbox him only to be beaten. So in this his second encounter with Jack, he clearly uses more kungfu and karate style flurries and kicks. Just a great bit of unspoken character work as he adapts to a difficult opponent between fights.

i find it ironic that in this scene we see bruce in a weakened state and the ripper disappearss into flames, then at the end we see the ripper in a weakened state and disappears into flames

In the 19th century, few people even knew how the hell that thing worked, let alone was flammable.
I like how batman kinda gets his ass kicked here, and by a non-powered human no less. In the comics and other media they really like to frame him as totally unstoppable when he's fighting waves of goons, but at times it hurts the stakes because you feel like he can never get hurt.
Don't forget that timeline takes place in 1800s

Greenwood is probably better than contemporary Conroy, who's more or less on autopilot nowadays.

Maybe that would have been true of late 1990 early 2000 but now most actors who play Batman are better than Conroy. Conroy for whatever reason lost his spark and is not capable of being diverse with his performances anymore. There hasn't been anything special about his performance since Batman Beyond ended. Greenwood is actually my favourite followed by Smith. Greenwood in Under the Hood was menacing, tragic, sympathetic and ultimately human something Conroy's performance has been lacking for a decade. His work on Young Justice while minor has also been fleshed out and enjoyable. I also really enjoyed his work in Gotham by Gaslight too especially with his horror when he uncovers Jack's identity. Roger Craig Smith's perfomance in Arkham Origins for me was lengendary. His menace, brooding, and of course the incredible scenes with Alfred make me regret they went back to Conroy after Origins.

This whole scene was like how it went down when Batman was after THE PHANTASM! (the 1993 animated movie)

The 3 best Batman voice actors handsdown are 1: kevin conroy 2: Jason O, mara 3: Bruce Greenwood
Like anything it is debateable. For me it is 1) Bruce Greenwood 2) Roger Craig Smith 3) Jason O'Mara 4) Kevin Conroy. My main issue with Conroy is that if it had been based on his work solely before Arkham City he probably would be number 1 despite his earliest work being weirdly stilted at times. However after Arkham Asylum his voice had lost all of its dimension and he was just boring in the role and had nothing new to add to the character and kept doing the role on autopilot. Even before that with Justice League he was being a little too monotone. Because of that, the others whose portrayals have had more dimensions are better than his despite being fewer. Bruce Greenwood has such an expressive voice and yet it can be very scary and his work has been some of the best Batman animated productions. Roger Craig Smith made me love Arkham Origins as a slightly green but still very effective Batman especially with his scenes with Alfred. As for Jason O'Mara, of my Batman actors he probably has appeared in the most lowest quality films featuring Batman. And yet even in the subpar films he elevates them by giving a great portrayal especially in the hallucination scene in Batman vs Robin. I really hope he has great material to work with in Batman Hush.
Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill did reprise their roles as Batman and Joker (with Steven Weber voicing Alfred) in the thirteenth episode episode of Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?, entitled "What a Night, For a Dark Knight!". And I must admit, it was well written!!

Cool... The Gotham PD was using a more efficient hydrogen lift airship. Unfortunately the ammo. that hit the airship must've been the incendiary (explode on impact) ammo. type.
actually its mostlikely due to the bullets ricocheting off the metal girders of the airship, or the bullets piercing the hydrogen tanks and causing sparks that way

Aaron Chars I once wanted to write a story like that. “Batman: Zodiac”, it would follow Bruce Wayne as he comes back from Vietnam and he works the main 3 people who were onto the Zodiac Killer: Robert Graysmith, Paul Avery, and Dave Toschi. Basically The Zodiac Killer goes from San Francisco to Gotham and commits more murders

EDIT: So apparently this movie actually changed the ending from the comic. Sounds like that made it better. Good on them! The original ending was weak and they improved on it!

I just don't understand what caused it to explode. Pistols can't do that, and helium is an inert gas, there should have been no explosion.
Hydrogen gas is explosive. And was the gas of choice up until the 40'S. It's cheaper and holds more weight then helium. Plus it takes a lot more than one shot form a 38 to explode a blimp. But it will explode with a big enough oxygen source.
@@warrmalaski8570 that first part is factually incorrect. Hydrogen was horrible for use in zeppelins for the obvious reason it is explosive, and nobody used it, they used helium, which is inert. The hindenburg was the only one that used hydrogen because of sanctions on helium exports to germany from America. Obviously an american city wouldn't have that problem.
Imagine if Real airship really exploded this easily because of small arm fire ( in Real life they could fight with fighter and they where hard to take down ( ww1)

mysterious writer 199 well martial arts weren’t a common thing during the Victorian Era. That and in the Gotham by gaslight comics, Bruce JUST started becoming Batman as an adult. So he didn’t really train during his youth

+Red Warrior: Well the ripper's background (not revealing spoilers) makes him a much harder adversary then what batman would usually face. Even modern batman would have some trouble given how disciplined the ripper fights. If Batman is moving slower, it's not just because he started training late but that the ripper has a strong defence.
