Priceless video, thanks so much for your helpful information, I’ve been looking for a video like this for a long time, I was with LANDSTAR until February 2023, stay safe out there. Thanks.
Just to confirm landstar takes their cut from the actual rate and the o/o gets 100% of the fuel surcharge right? So if a load you show on the load board is $3/mi they’re not taking their cut off of the whole $3
Hi can you do team dry van loads from east to west and west to east hazmat and none hazmat ? Is there always loads for team drivers ? Do you this its worth it making the change to becoming owner operator in this market or should we wait a little bit till rate go back up
Are you under landstar authority or under your own running with landstar? And if you are with them do the provide insurance? Or do you? Looking to get in with the blue star.
I run under landstar Athourity, yes they offer insurance and you pay it weekly, they issue plates and you pay it back!! All in all landstar is a pretty good outfit to work for, yes rates are low right now but they are anywhere you go
Yes you can if you run consistently like it seems you do. You should do great. Do know 4-5k would be after fuel expenses. So it could be 3-4k from time to time.
You’re not able to completely negotiate the rate directly with the broker. However, your agent can negotiate for you on your behalf. You have the ability to negotiate money to be broken out from the line haul, such as tolls stops and loading and unloading fees.
My brother over in the east u said the loads was good no no the loads was going 800 and less 1700 - 65% = 1105 😮 that’s no money bro to hold loads for 2days 😢 at least run the numbers on a few in the east … don’t get me wrong love 💕 the videos lots of info but the east numbers are shitty go back and look
I agree with you, sir. I said the same thing if it wasn’t for the amount of days you had to hold those loads. Those will be good loads. Therefore, you need to try and negotiate earlier deliveries. I said the same thing you’re saying.
why do you waste time looking at dumb loads that makes no sense to even run just look at practical loads just a big waste of time to me what you doing in this vlog
There wasn’t any practical loads. Nor was it a waste of my time.. I did it for my RUclips channel and viewers. That was what was requested. Besides, that was filmed over a year ago.

I’m bout to switch it up flatbed or chemical tanker these dry van rates are trash 🗑️
Those rates per mile actually drops though after you factor LS getting their cut.
Yep! The fuel surcharge is included in the rate as well

Correct.

I hope so too!

Can you do atl fairburn staying on the east coast up and back to atl please
Do they require owner operators to have facing driver in dash cameras? In landstar
No they do not. Dash Cams are not required.
Hey Pitmaster, is it possible to still bring home 4-5k a week in this market if I run 4-5 loads a week?
I stay out 4 weeks at a time
Yes you can if you run consistently like it seems you do. You should do great. Do know 4-5k would be after fuel expenses. So it could be 3-4k from time to time.
@@highwaypitmaster thank you boss!
Quick question, do you have to have your own or they provide when you're hauling?
Your own trailer? If that is your question, you do not need to have your own trailer.
@@highwaypitmaster oh ok.. appreciate it man
hi, can you negotiate some these rates ?
You’re not able to completely negotiate the rate directly with the broker. However, your agent can negotiate for you on your behalf. You have the ability to negotiate money to be broken out from the line haul, such as tolls stops and loading and unloading fees.
Is those flatbed rates after landstar cut?
No
So the load rates being put on that board isn’t what you take home? They still take on top of that?? You only get 65% at landstar??
Correct, plus the fuel surcharge.
@@highwaypitmaster ohh I thought that rate that you see on that board is what you get!! With the landstar percentage taken out already!
Are you from WV?
No, Indiana
