Great content guys absolutely 100 percent true on every point u discussed I’m a Landstar BCO as well and couldn’t agree more !!! The one video I would like for u guys to do is how to grow your fleet and how to recruit quality drivers
Did you ever get the answer to your question boss? I’m looking to Invest in 1 truck and 1 step deck and putting a driver in the truck and put it all under Landstar. It’s this a profitable business move ? Thx
Chris is very quiet and Larry is loud! Love y'alls podcast and info!!!
the guy on the left needs to speak up! I have my volume turned all the way up and I have fancy Bluetooth headset on and I can barely hear you
I mean I get this is an old video but it’s definitely 100 percent possible with double and triple brokering
Is it legal maybe not but I’ve seen it happen
The system is not rocket science. You need be a part of the club with the (so called) brokers that have the freight. If you not there you wont survive in that system.
Question, Does Landstar or the agent require the BCOs to book a minimum of monthly revenue ? And are the BCOs required to be active a certain amount of time per month or year?
No. There are no minimum revenue requirements. However, if you take time off, you can lose your trailer after ten days and they still build up your weekly deductions in a “red file” that will have to be caught up when you start back. I know of BCO’s that run 60,000 miles a year. Work six months, home six months. You decide. It’s your business.
I've been working with Landstar for almost 8yrs and I've got my own trailer sometimes I've had to take 3 months off at a time but I've got the $$$$ saved for the fixed cost that I need to stay with Landstar
Thank you guys for sharing this valuable insight. At this very moment I am looking to purchase a truck and pay for it cash. Ive never been more nervous in my life. I had the same thoughts on costs low. You guys reassured me and it's exactly what I needed to hear before I go lay down this money and step in the hammer lane. Thanks again guys, you got a new subscriber.
This is a One hour Landstar add.
Agree
Excellent Info guys highly informative thanks for sharing with us and keep it coming 👍👍👍👍
Very good content. I really appreciate your knowledge. Really clears things up for me as a prospective owner Op.
Hey guy’s thanks for all the info, how long do you estimate that a driver takes to learn all the process?
How do you calculate your cost per mile to operate your truck?
How come addresses to the facility's aren't listed on the load boards.
Everything that was said on this podcast is horse manure
Trust me. I know. 🎉
@47:40 so that one year of wait time,do i have to be driving or just keep my CDL's clean and no driving for a year? Please let me know,thanks..
You have to have drive time for sure , everything is going off experience when it's pertaining to the CDL
We pay $3.69 a week for the Landstar one app Larry.... it’s the “LCN fee”
Just found your podcast. Love your channel and thanks for the info Sir!
Awesome information about landstar and video
Borkers are taking much more than 13% Most freight is moved on a long term contract .When the rate goes down the broker is keeping more money. How much are you being payed by Landstar
ANOTHER great service rendered ( thank You very much 😊 ) ! I've always
been a huge Fan of earning a lot of money 💰 !!!! The more You show ...
the more I know ( just like eating at
McDonald's..... I'm loving it ) !!!!
Can you imagine how crazy you would have to be to want to manage drivers😂
Excellent info.....this clarifies alot of my pre-conceived thoughts of why wouldn't any truck owner get their own authority.
TRANSPARENCY regarding shipper/broker/carrier relationship.
The benefit of Landstar's buying power could really make a difference for a single truck operator.
This excites me....been wanting to lose the diapers for a long time....lol.
Amen and amen! No debt. Quality used truck. Don't do stupid shit.
Im looking at the LandStar Freight Agent side so how satisfied are you with agents rate quotes and how real is Freight Wave Capacity map😊
Landstar is a great company! Only problem is to many bs brokers that all have the same loads!
This exactly 💯 great. Excellent truthful educational content!
Great stuff guy’s. Again. I appreciate what you do.
Thank you guys
Do you know if landstar will hire owner operators that only operate intrastate (California)??
Larry and Chris I wish you were here when I joined Landstar I would have known how to do some of the things that I had to learn from scratch
Received your email yesterday looking forward to talking thanks for another great mentor ship video
👍
Do you offer a flatbed program?
What is the level of experience and requirements to work for blue ribbon??
www.blueribbonlogistics.com/drive-for-us
I like Larry he’s a no nonsense kind of guy
I wonder on hazmat loads can you negotiate the rate more then what there trying to pay the load for 🤔
Only if you can get the agents to contact their contact and renegotiate. But hazmat pays higher most time so that won't really be a issuse
Very good info guys!
What type of trailers do you have ? Van or flatbed?
Van
Good show great info
Excellent!!
How long is the mentorship?
18-24 months.
Great content!!!-
how long is the average length of the mentor period at blue ribbon? is the recruitment national?
18 months
We mainly hire east of the Mississippi
thanks for responding. only 3 months in currently running dry van in oh, pa and wv i'll be watching the series thanks for the great resource and content. i was mansplaining some of these same ideas especially cash purchase to my girlfriend (also a driver), but damn if your lunatic branding isn't spot on. i've worked jobs where people look at you like you're crazy for not being broke but thats the culture now. i appreciate the emphasis on saving. people don't seem to comprehend that if you have no savings and are already working 60+ hrs a wk like the rest of us then 9/10 you have a SPENDING problem. more income will only make it worse and then sprinkle in some cash flow fluctuations and you're storing your flammables in the fireplace lol. pardon the analogies but everyone is an amateur business person and i can't help but feel like going lease or owner op with minimal or no savings much less owning outright is like losing all your amateur fights and deciding you don't need to be fighting like this so its time for a pro debut. big fan of the podcast i may contact you down the road about a position with the mentor fleet.
🔥
I heard blue ribbon sucks and you treat drivers like trash.
Very interested video guys. Where are you based ?
