    Hey dude, in 1998 I was in Northern Montana with a New Pete longnose with flat top walkin & 425 Cat. Had a flatbed with load of sacks of driil mud. It was 20° below zero with 50 mph wind and blinding sideways snow. I got lost and parked on a country road. Suddenly the engine quit. The fuel had gelled up ! I got in the sleeper with my dog and figuered we were going to die. If not for his body heat I think I was done. Crack of dawn storm stops. Truck buried in snow. Farmer came helped me get going. I quit the job lol. ❤

    • @highwaypitmaster
      @highwaypitmaster  Год назад +1

      If you’re an owner operator, it would really be determined by your business structure. You also have your deductions such as fuel truck note any other purchases you make for your business. Understand when you are an owner operator you have to pay your own taxes, so there are no deductions weekly from your Settlements.

  • @BrazeMark

    Is the fuel surcharge already included in these loads revenue or is it added on to the revenue
    So for example a load paying $3800 and you take your fuel out of that
    Or is it $3800 and then you call the agent and it’s a extra $500 for fuel making it $4300 total

    • @highwaypitmaster
      @highwaypitmaster  Год назад +2

      Yes, the numbers that you see on LANDSTAR’s load board do include the fuel surcharge. In most cases, once you get your rate confirmation, that is when you will see the breakout with the fuel surcharge.

    When it says $0 for the fuel surcharge is there not one or is it included in the rate or do you have to get it from the broker?

    • @highwaypitmaster
      @highwaypitmaster  Год назад

      That means it is included in the rate. All of LANDSTAR‘s loads have fuel surcharge‘s. Once you speak to the agent, they will give you the brake out of the fuel surcharge, and any other monies available.

    • @highwaypitmaster
      @highwaypitmaster  Год назад +1

      I run under LANDSTAR‘s authority in purchase the insurance through LANDSTAR. Yes there is fuel surcharge with every load you run with LANDSTAR and my insurance is roughly $300 per month.

    • @highwaypitmaster
