I always absolutely loved camping but for me 90% of it was a bit of a chore and the highlight was finally sitting back by the fire, drinking quality ales and smoking, while listening to my favourite music. Provided I had supplied myself well and didn't need to go too far once settled in, I would happily stay there in that mode for hours and hours and hours. Days even lol. For me, life doesn't get any better than that. It's the absolute peak of enjoyment.
Relaxation at its finest! Gotta get me a new camper. Looking into vans so I can travel farther/faster and stay a night or two without too much work. Just fire, dinner and drinks. Heaven!
@@Simple_But_Expensive Yes, I really enjoy those videos. I fear the only stealth camping allowed here would be if you disguised yourself as a homeless person and supplied yourself with a blue tarp and went down by the canals.
Just started watching your videos. Started with the roundabout stealth camp video and I was hooked. I'm going through a rough patch in my life, and your videos have cheered me up during this time. Thanks Steve.
The roundabout video was my 1st as well! Just saw it a couple of weeks ago and was hooked. I wish you strength in this rough patch. Don't give up! We all experience them, it's a sad fact of life. There are better days ahead.
Mostly I have camped in swags and tents and under canvass tarps, also under rock overhangs and in caves, but also back in the 80s when I was hitching around Australia I occasionally slept in farm sheds and hay sheds, and when in towns and cities I slept in drain pipes and parks and gardens.
I had the bottom of a bug-netted hammock rip on me. Was only about 3 feet off the ground, landed on a downed tree trunk underneath me. Can't imagine being this high in a tent, would be afraid the bottom would give out on me again. Hilarious episode, Steve. 2:50 had me rolling.
Jimmy checkin in here , just wanted to say that you’ve been killing it lately Steve , you are so consistent with the content & you are the only RUclipsr I follow weekly. Ever since 2019 you’ve been making my Thursdays better. Never stop hunkering down! ⛺️
Sleeping under the stars takes on a whole new meaning with a hanging tent. It's like having your own private hammock hotel room in the sky. Just remember to bring your dreams, as the view comes complimentary.
I never thought id enjoy watching videos of someone just randomly camping anywhere they can. Here i am a few years later still watching. Love what you do. Stay safe and thanks for keeping me entertained!
This is my kind of camping! I can imagine grabbing a multi-level building ladder, finding a secluded forest with dense, towering trees, and setting up camp 20-30 feet off the ground. It sounds like an exhilarating experience! Personally, the pictures of climbers camping on mountains give me chills.

This is one of my favorite videos you've done. Only two things would have improved my experience if I were camping like this - I don't think I could sleep in a hammock or a tent that sags like that in the bottom, I'd have to have one that stays rigid, and also if it were me I'd like to be able to hoist the tent up higher so you don't get eaten by bears. But this was a really fun approach to camping!
Steve, you crack me up, just thinking about the people who don't know about your channel watching you go up that sketchy ladder, and then using an electric winch to lift you and the tent in the air, must have boggled some brain cell's lol. I can’t be the only one who thought the tent looked like a flying saucer 🛸👽 hovering in the trees! Awesome idea Steve! Cheers!
Haha LOVE the silence on that long turn and then “…….now you’re camping with Steve!” 😂❤️
😁
For those of us with physical limitations, it's great that you can do all of this in front of the camera.
Just remember that Steve has a fear of heights aswell... That makes this a genuine sacrifice to his nerves for US as fans, i appreciate that
I always absolutely loved camping but for me 90% of it was a bit of a chore and the highlight was finally sitting back by the fire, drinking quality ales and smoking, while listening to my favourite music. Provided I had supplied myself well and didn't need to go too far once settled in, I would happily stay there in that mode for hours and hours and hours. Days even lol. For me, life doesn't get any better than that. It's the absolute peak of enjoyment.
yup , ur my brother!
Relaxation at its finest! Gotta get me a new camper. Looking into vans so I can travel farther/faster and stay a night or two without too much work. Just fire, dinner and drinks. Heaven!
I live in Tokyo, camping is not possible anywhere near here. I can camp vicariously through your youtubes. Thanks so much Steve.
Google says otherwise...
Steve’s videos give a master class in stealth camping. Hint, hint.
@@Simple_But_Expensive Yes, I really enjoy those videos. I fear the only stealth camping allowed here would be if you disguised yourself as a homeless person and supplied yourself with a blue tarp and went down by the canals.
Rushing water and a camp fire. Doesn't get any better than that! Always my favorite! Thanks Steve!
Same. Started with the roundabout video and was hooked.
Thanks for going strong Mr. Step Two. I've slept in bushes, ditches and drains pipes comfortably because of you. Great channel.
Mostly I have camped in swags and tents and under canvass tarps, also under rock overhangs and in caves, but also back in the 80s when I was hitching around Australia I occasionally slept in farm sheds and hay sheds, and when in towns and cities I slept in drain pipes and parks and gardens.
@@JBplumbing12truly amazing, you more than likely lived a hard life, but you survived. I only hope to be a trooper like you and Mr. Wallis.
@@YourNavajoBro Just live like God is watching you, brother. And your life will be full of growth and wonder.
What a way to start the weekend, air camping with Steve! 🤘🤩🤘
I agree lol
How absolutely absurd. This is exactly what the internet was made for. 👍👍
Your Canadian sense of humour is delightful!
With all the frequent UFO activity going on in the world, how serendipitous it is to see you sleeping in a tent that resembles one Steve. 👽🍻✌️
not a fan of camping or really even glamping…but steve’s videos always bring me joy 🥰💕
I never thought I would enjoy watching someone camp in interesting ways, but here I am enjoying Steve's cool tent setup! Love your videos Steve!
Awesome! Thank you Denise!
Steve I just want to thank you for being here for us. Not all hero’s wear capes. Thank you for your videos.
I have never seen anything like this before 😂 just when I think you can’t do anything more wild, you go way above and beyond… I love it!
Jimmy checkin in here , just wanted to say that you’ve been killing it lately Steve , you are so consistent with the content & you are the only RUclipsr I follow weekly. Ever since 2019 you’ve been making my Thursdays better. Never stop hunkering down! ⛺️
he's heading south for the winter🤣
Personally, the pictures of climbers camping on mountains give me chills.
check out fear the walking dead when morgan took his survival raft and elevated it
Another great video. I don’t know how I can be so relaxed by Steve’s voice and kind nature and yet feel as excited as a kid when watching these vids. Thank you for taking us along, Steve!
He has a calming voice.
Great video. Your fan from India. Past 2 yrs I have watched all your videos.
I just had to say thank you for the genuine smile I got from this video. Entirely fun and wholesome through and through. I appreciate you bringing us along, Mr. Wallis.
This episode was an emotional roller coaster. At first i was like "please dont break your neck up there Steve."
Then he grabbed the foil pouch bare handed and thought "Steve is made of iron"
He is a cook after all. You get used to heat. That and I bet he has done that many many times
@@stevegarvey5607 I thought he worked on HVAC or Furnaces. Something like that
@@AlmostCoolGuys I didn't mean cook as a chef. His channel was going to be a cooking channel. He has experience in cooking. Looking at the things he made over the years, I would say is a cook
@stevegarvey5607 we all are by that mindset. Either way it's Hunker Down cannon now. I've seen him do similar and even more intense grabs from fire.
@@AlmostCoolGuys and we've seen him have his hands with the fire literally on his hands before....ouch
3:23 just proves that Steve needs an intro theme song in his videos. That was the perfect setup to one.
What SJLD Films said...
You are a joy Steve Wallis!
Thanks for being wacky for those of us who no longer can be... ❤❤❤❤❤
Video quality (even after the youtube conversion and playback) is fantastic. Whatever cameras, video recording, and video editing methods you are using, don't change it. Looks amazing. Very clean!
Well, thank you! So glad you’re enjoying 😀
It's nice to see him back to his old self.
This was a really cool episode haha I'm totally going to try this!
I'm so glad this guy keeps getting on trending. been watching him long before even 200k subscribers. Always great, relaxing content
Love this camping idea! No bugs crawling in from the ground, suspended from the bears somewhat, and fresh air!! Sounds like a great plan to me! Cheers, Steve! Travel safely!
Yeah I would go higher from the ground! Keep high enough from bears!
@@anibalbabilonia1867 bears can climb trees, and quick. Lol
@@anibalbabilonia1867 The bear pinata!
Me and my daughter had a little camp out in my living last night and I couldn't think of a better way for us to wake up than a new video for us to relax with 😁
This was frightening at first. Wow you never cease to amaze ! A+ for imagination and originality!
The day you totally grow up is the day you totally grow old. Steve is having a Peter Pan moment here. Totally approve.
You never fail to entertain, amuse and educate your followers. Today's video is no exception. How you continually come up with with new adventures is amazing. Makes us wish we were there with you for step-2. Thanks Steve. Stay well and keep 'em coming.
Glad to see you happy and living life Steve ! ❤️
dude you are an awsome person!!!!!!!! dont ever put yourself down like that anymore!!! have been following you for a very long time saw when your jes passed well my mom also passed on the same knight, 8-21 in evening so sorry for your loss love everything you upload!!!!!! keep on keeping on you are wonderful!!!!!!!
Steve, my husband passed away 8/29/22. I so understand the journey you are on my friend and my heart goes out to you. I am so sorry for your loss. And I love that you have your crazy neighbor. He’s a good buddy to know.
I love ALL your videos but the last few months have been even better than usual, from winter blanket fort camping to the fancy uhaul, the onion burg sign, and now a floating tent 😂 Just keeps getting better and better and better! Keep it up and I hope theres some frosty step 2's in your future this weekend!
It never gets old watching what crazy ideas you come up with. Keep thinking outside the box!
Been following for a year Steve. I am glad you are still doing what you love, your wife would have wanted that for you.
Steve, you crack me up, just thinking about the people who don't know about your channel watching you go up that sketchy ladder, and then using an electric winch to lift you and the tent in the air, must have boggled some brain cell's lol. I love how you are in a public place, talking to us in the camera like we was old friend's, and that smile while doing it all is great. G-d bless.
