This was great ! I actually done this test unknowingly about 2 years ago. Went from riding my rmz 250 2020. To trying my bros (new to him 2018yz125)
And was consistently 4 secs a lap faster on the 125 😶
Safe to say the rmz was sold and went onto the yzs 🤣😅
The one thing I would say about the rmzs though is the reliability. In out experience they have been phenomenal, :) as long as you keep up on the oil . Definitely will last twice as long as a yz 125 regardless of your level :) and for most us club riders they're more than enough bike especially for the price, compared to a ktm. 😶😶
Great job josh and Dennis 👍

You're reliability ratings are the EXACT OPPOSITE of what has been known in the dirt bike world forever . Yamaha has ALWAYS been rated # 1 in reliability with Honda Suzuki Kawasaki and KTM rounding out the list in that order .

I got back into 2 wheelers after a 10 year break. I was a kid and broke my leg in 3 places on a 50cc. When I hopped on hte 23 yz125 it just looked and felt right. Like it was made for me. I love it so much more than previous year's designs. it's literally a whole different bike- my instructor has a 2021 and it shreds but i like the look of the 23 better.

Yz125 07 is still my favourite bike I've ridden. Currently on te300 but have had 93 cr250, 98 rmx250, 92 wr500 with new style chassis and suspension plus everything else running old air-cooled yz490 which was awesome. Few of them wish didn't sell as collectors these day's. different yeared from 08 on ktm300exc. Have ridden nearly every other model of newer 2 and 4 strokes. Don't get me wrong 4strokes are sic but bit boring to ride as nearly always straight and horrible constant loud roar that gets boring and annoying to watch. Can't tell who's revving. 2bangas love to slide, sound awesome, lighter easier to throw around and alot cheaper to buy and fix. Unless your pro, ride for the fun. Avagud1 mate

I had both a 22 yz 125 and 19 rmz 250 and the rmz was an awesome bike, but I could not get over how stiff the suspension was. I thought the motor was not bad at all and really enjoyed it on a smooth track. The yz 125 suspension is stiff as well, but its much more manageable than the rmz.

Also if you ever realize he always picks KTM over Yamaha. And recently Ktm brands have a recall on pistons breaking and ecu’s. Also at the track the ktm doesn’t even out pull a yz. Plus there were ktm owners at the track that rode another guys new yz125 and they all said it was better power than the ktm and handled better and of course better suspension! That was shocking to hear from die hard ktm guys.. plus the fact this magazine guy never tells which bike is far more reliable! Yamaha! Others have..
