NY just got a new license plate. It’s called the Excelsior plate and is blue, white and gold. It features the Adirondacks, Niagara Falls, Montauk Lighthouse, the Statue of Liberty, and the Manhattan skyline. Much better representation of our state than the previous license plates

My 'state' has a license plate that says "TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION" because we have a population larger than that of two states, pay the highest federal taxes in the entire US, and have absolutely no voting representation in Congress and no autonomy over our own land. This is Washington DC where hundreds of thousands of US citizens live with Taxation Without Representation, the very thing our country went fought the Revolutionary War over! We need DC Statehood!

Our plate in South Carolina has the motto While I Breathe I hope on the top and its blue and white. It also has the moon over the Palmetto tree in the middle

My favorite California license plate is the one from the 80's and early 90s with the large manuscript capital letters that was shown in opening credits of the classic legal drama " LA Law". I'm dating myself but I'm feeling nostalgic since I'm an 80s baby.

The Hawaii license plate is cool and simple, I wouldn't trade ours for any others, but the state parks also offer ones where its a volcano or a nene goose in the background if you guys are also interested in those (these seem only to be used at yearly passes for entry into the parks tho).
A lot of the incorrect ones were accurate descriptions of previous plates as of like 15-20 years ago. Bad job of researching Missouri at 4:22. That plate was phased out in 2010 and we've had two different styles since.

Ohio responded with Birthplace of Aviation 15 years later and started using it on their plates in 1997. *_First In Flight_* is a very cool slogan. *_Birthplace of Aviation_* sounds like a 5th Grade book report.

I still have the plate from the state's bicentennial celebration (1816-2016) with new renewal stickers every year. Other plates you pay to have are very popular - pets, children (like Riley Hospital), education, the arts. I will be on the lookout for the covered bridge!

There are so many different plates you can get in Indiana. The covered bridge is 1 of the few "standard" ones.

If you pay a bit more, you can get a MI plate with the Mackinac bridge on it over a sunset, not just the boring blue one
