The 90's were the pinnacle era for JDM performance vehicles and raw natural racing car design. Great coverage as always Dino and it is good to see the R33 getting the attention it deserves
wow - always wanted to spot that on the internet. Tamiya made a 1/24 plastic model kit of this car in the 90s and this video will be great for reference for anyone building that car. JGTC was the best era for japanese racing!
this drag me right back to my childhood & the beginning of Gran Turismo 1-2 98-2000 & when i bought my first Tamiya rc car i was settled to get the pennzoil r-34 because of its waspy & more angry outlook, but it was sold out so i end up with the r-33 pennzoil ,Pennzoil along with this Unisia Jecs is my alltime favorite of this era of Skyline, its a privilege to be with you on the close up journey on this legendary piece of the jgtc scene from the golden era, i also really love as you said how it all came across as & blend of diy/handcraft & know how back then it has indeed that raw factory works look🤗🏁🎌its a bliss
So much truth about GT500 v. GT300. The 300s are the far more interesting class these days, and I'd argue that the simple fact that individual shops can build their own cars in GT300- something not possible at this performance level anywhere else aside from time attack and hillclimbs - makes the JAF GT300s about the most interesting racing cars on the planet. EDIT: Sumo Power GT-R GT1 spotted 👀
It's a shame the gtr got banned from the top tier racing in Australia in 1992. The rate those things were progressing even had the Japanese asking for advice.

JGTC? Yeah clicked quicker than quick. Just top notch quality upload 👌 ❤
🙏🏻
Wonderful. Such close ups
Grazie Dino
So cool to see that Dino cheers, think that car was possibly in Gran Turismo
That engine tube brace and intergration into the strut tops setup is beyond anything I've seen.. 👀
My 1st Tamiya model was this car. The 6 spoke front wheels and 5 spoke rears is still a combo i want to copy on my Gts25t.
Always forget Dino has this channel, top quality vlog as usual, great stuff 👍 👏
Glad you enjoy it!
So cool!
I have this JGTC R33 in Gran Turismo 2! ✨
I need a project car, the Japanese are inspirational! Kind of want that blue hako from a couple episodes ago

Yeah the series has pretty much standardised GT500 and made it boring. GT300 is the GT500 of modern days
Other channel but the same high quality. Thx Dino!
🫶🏻
Man this was cool.
Is that the Sumo Power R35 next to it?
I wonder how long ago Andy Barnes let it go? 🤔
Decade?
Fascinating, truly amazing what they were doing 30 years ago. Did they move the engine back as well as the driver to give it a mid-front layout?
Didn’t look like it

😮
You didn't mention that this was the fastest car in Gran Turismo 2 game!!
😂
When was the last time that thing ran?
Nismo Festival years back
