I bought an used 2016 edge. Very next day came to know that coolant is leaking into ine of its cylinder, went back to dealership and left my vehicle there, they were kind enough to get me a new ling block for the engine with 2 years of unlimited mileage warranty. After new engine the vehicle had not a single problem, fun to drive vehicle, great on gas. I’m loving it, if I have to buy a new vehicle I will buy another edge.
Bought a 2011 limited AWD sport 5yrs ago.. they had replaced the motor at the dealership at 58kmiles took the gamble and it’s paid off! Best car ever said my family is about to outgrow it.. such a fun car to drive
I drive a 2014 Edge and have kept the oil changed regularly as required. Drives well and get about 26 mpg. It has about 188,000 miles on it. It has been a good car
Bought a 2010 Limited with 72k on it in 2018. Now has 198k miles on it. Runs like a champ. I have replaced the radio with a pioneer top of the line apple/android auto head unit. New rims…all is working well. I drive a crap ton. Maybe I’ll get to the 310k range eventually. Lol
So awesome.. I have a 2014 hit 121k from 73 when I brought it two years ago.. It’s my first car and I haven’t been good to her but this year, I’ve been on it. I hope to hit 300k like you
I've got a 2013 ford edge and so far it's doing well. You did put some.thjngs in perspective for me. When you mentioned that go buy a car for 2k and you'll need to fix something. Your right been down that road. But why; when we know our cars so well that we can just pay the repair bill and keep it moving.
I just bought a 2011 Edge limited with the 302A package and 68k miles a couple months ago. So far I love it and hope to get many years of enjoyment. Thanks for your videos. My take way so far is change the fluids! Often! Haha fluids are cheaper than metal. This thing looks good and drives good. Nice little upgrade from the Escape.
My 2013 SEL has about 93000 miles, was purchased back in 2015, and have had a couple issues since, the break booster recall had to be done, breaking was getting really scary prior to the "free" recall fix. Next, I hauled a way too heavy u-haul trailer from Denver to South Florida and about ruined the transmission, but got lucky and a transmission fluid change fixed it, was vibrating and shifting weird. Then had to have all the rotors/breaks replaced recently, normal maintenance though. I had an after market stereo put in and cost's an arm and a leg because had to replace the the whole front console, was about $500 just for the part, then to install was another bit of cash, was no place to put the amp other then under the rear passenger seat, the whole thing was a major pain all I can say, but after install is really just what I wanted. That's about it. I love it though, very comfortable and drives really nice! I have the big V-6, about 19 miles a gallon (I'm okay with that).
I bought a 2011 ford edge for less than one thousand dollars, it had oil warning on it but I fixed it with oil change, the other owner said they got 42 miles a gallon, 3.5 v6, it's a very good vehicle.😊
@@hummerguy according to the speedometer that counts the mileage it says 42 highway and 34 city right on the car, I asked the previous owner about it and they said it was very good mileage, how could you make the computer say otherwise??
skip to @2:10 to save time...but he doesn't really answer the question...just repeats the best one is the one in your driveway. To @MACTFORDEDGE I dont have a ford edge in my driveway Im thinking of getting one. Came here hoping you'd give me some info on which models to avoid and what the differences are / reliabilty?
Reliability-wise I believe some reviews have indicated that the 2014 is the most reliable, though I would agree with "the one you know". For many, rust will be the determining factor of whether to keep or get rid of their Edge. The Edge has some common rust areas. A lot of people never know until late that their rockers are completely rusted out because of the black molding that hides it. I have a 2007 AWD which I love. I bought it used quite a while ago with 60km. Front CVs at 110km. At around 130km replaced all 4 hubs. First went at 120km, second and third went at 130km so I replaced the 4th one when 2 and 3 went bad. Thanks to our junk roads in Iowa and Illinois, around that same time I needed lower control arms, and so on. Replaced the 3-piece driveshaft at around 140km. It wasn't a terrible job but wasn't fun either. Would be much easier on a lift. I know folks that have had trouble with the PTUs but I had mine drilled and a plug added so it is easy to change the fluid. I know some folks who have had multiple PTU and/or trans replacements before 130km. I didn't want to follow suit. Did new plugs and coil packs at around 100km. I had one iffy plug and one bad coil pack (different cylinders) so since I was taking the top apart to get at the rears I replaced all of the coil packs too when I did the plugs. Glad I did that. But I would consider that normal maintenance like pads and rotors. Use Mobil1 and if the car is going to not get driven for awhile it gets no-ethanol gas. The only thing that I would say has broken more than once are the sway bar links. I've done the rears two or three times. Car now has 150km and has new rocker panels. I still love it but it is probably time to upgrade. I'm thinking a 2014 MKX or 2014 Edge Sport. I can't find good reviews comparing the two in handling and I can't find 2 nearby to test drive back--to-back.
I dont know. So fair I know the 2011 and the 2014 are the same aren’t they? I had a 2011 edge sport, and my wife had a 2011 se one and they were both the worst vehicles we’ve ever had

The quality of the advance auto pump could some one tell me if someone used other than Ford water pump ...I'm just worried

Well i dont have a ford edge- i wanted to know which one was best, not some common sense answer about something someone else owns. You actually made an entire video to say the obvious? This is one video you should take down, because after seeing this one, it makes no sense to watch any others that you put out. Ill just ask my cat next time.
my ford is at 82000km, bought second hand. Recently after service the dealer offered extended warranty for 40.000km at a cost of $1800. Is it going to worth the price?
I can appreciate the "best used car is the one in your driveway" mantra, but we don't all have $38,000 or whatever the figure was to purchase one with 6,000 miles on it. I'm looking for something reliable and came across several used Edge's anywhere from a 2008-2012, most of which have less than 120k miles. My question is... how much of a problem is the water pump? Every bit of research I've done has people talking about the water pump being internal and costing about $1,500 to replace when it goes bad. Any truth to that?
If you do it yourself much cheaper. If you pay someone to replace the waterpump figures are running 2-3K dollars. I have replaced at least two now. This summer will replace a 3rd. I personally have never had a water pump fail on any Edge I have owned and drive them to over 300K miles.
I just hot a 2007 ford edge and its rusted out underneath it the undercarriage broke the axel broke they fixed that but I feel its not safe due to the rust can this be fixed properly

2014 with the big V6 (and AWD if you can find it). That was the final year of the original model style. Reliable, comfortable.

My 2011 has 237k on it and still running good.. I might just get another one 😊
Anyone with the 3.5 V6 is going to be the best.
If you own a 2007-2014 make sure of drain and refill PTU oil, it gets melted in position where at, had to replace mine last month.
