Oh..Maybe it’s not a Fiamm those are the horns that Ford uses, some are different.. But yours is much better looking than mine, because I have the 2015. What trim do you have? I’m pretty sure you can buy some horns online that is louder, and sound MUCH better. 👍🏼
@@rhydynamic8306 I just turned in my 2015 edge, love it, the horn was perfect. I currently have a '19 Titanium, it's great, only notable flaw is the horn.
You didn't talk about the 8 speed auto vs. the 6 speed auto from 2018. Interested in gas mileage for the 2019. Video was great.. currently have a 2014 Escape loaded that I will be selling for the new Edge.. Love the escape but family is bigger and need more room.
Looks good. Two of my biggest gripes with the prior version was the tilted grill and lack of fog lights. Both silly gripes, sure. But they fixed them both! Good job Ford, and good job on the video Mitchell.

I had always wanted an SUV and i was fiinally able to get one which was a Ford Explorer that i was in love with ( despite it was a 2015) but I then i qualified to get an to upgrade to either an explorer again or something else. For whatever reason the edge grabbed my attention and went for a test drive and i was sold on the 2019 ford Edge. I was impress with it from the comfortableness of the ride and drive. To the features it has. I can't complain i am fan now. But that 2021 Ford Edge ST that i am seeing is really turning my wheels though. I am impress with the designs that Ford is creating for it's vehicles.
I have a 2013 Edge that’s a fully loaded Limited with AWD and I gotta say I love the look of the edge. It’s always seemed to be sporty looking and I definitely look forward to the new Edge!
I almost bought a 2018 Titanium but I was so excited with this 2019 so I had to wait for it to come out. When they finally had it at Detroit Auto Show and saw that rotary dial I was having a doubt but I was like 'I'll give it a try' although I hate it. But the deal breaker for me is when they took out the 3.5 V6 NA. Well, 2018 Edge Titanium it is.
LOVE the rotary shifter. I've had one on my last two vehicles and it was a huge selling point for me buying the 2019 ST. 3.5 was a boat anchor and then tied to the 6 speed trans? YUCK! Good riddance. I'll take forced induction and an 8 speed anyday!
we bought a 2014 Edge Sport for my step-daughter. 3.8 V6 with 22inch tires, 30,000 miles, July 2018.this car is HOT! Rides great and is very responsive on the highway. Mike from Milwaukee.
I thought I wanted the new chevy blazer, I just changed my mind, seeing that Ford is bringing a little bit of the old look to the edge, I’m literally dying for it, is my dream car for sure.
Honda did it with their once mighty Accord line starting with the 2018 models. Didn't turn out too good. The 1.5 turbos which are also in some CRV models are leaking gas into the oil. You can smell it inside the cabin even with HVAC on recirculate.
We had a 2009 Toyota Matrix base model. We bought a 2019 Edge SEL, May 5th. Doesn't have all the options as on the one featured in this video. The Titanium. Which was fine with us. We are amazed on the amount of little storage places this car has. So far fuel mileage is 28.6 this includes 50% highway and 50% city. So people don't like the horn? Did try it out once to see why. Works fine for us. The rotary dial shift, we are still getting use to. The car has the stop/start feature, but it can be shut off each time the car is started. Easy enough. Start car, put on seat belt, push stop/start button.
My mom's Boyfriend has a 2019 Ford Edge SEL with 88k miles on it, We both love it. I love driving it since I have my permit and it drives really smooth, he would probably say the same,
The new ones are nice, but I still think the 2013 model looks the best over all. Very nice looking vehicle and has it's own unique grille. Ford now seems to be using the Fusion grille on all their models so having something that still have it's own flare is nice. However the 2019 will be much better over all over the 2013 since all the added tech standard alone is super nice.
I think the Escapes use the Fusion grills where the Edges try to use the F150 grills. But I think they are gradually working their way down to Fusion grills on the Edges and I don't know how I feel about it
I agree I have a 2013 edge limited and its one of the best looking suv's on the road in my opinion. It looks so unique but it is still simple while looking higher end. I also have the Kodiak brown metallic color which is one of the coolest looking paint colors I have seen on a factory car. I have the whole audio system upgraded with rockford fosgate components and it is awesome!
Mitchell, You are the best video trust me, knowledgeable informative visuals, my momma has memorized the steering apps over and over to drive this Edge 2019. Kudos Ford.
So they decided to not use the new 3.5 v6 that is being used in the f-150. This is the engine that has 2 injectors per cylinder to eliminate the carbon fouling problem. I don't like the idea of the 4 cylinder with turbo being the only available engine. I don't believe they will have the long term durability of a 6 cylinder engine. Also, when the a/c is turned on you will feel the loss of power at low speeds. Also, why no 8 speed or more transmission?
My 2018 3.6 v-6 Grand Cherokee gets 27 MPG on the Highway with full time AWD and the silky smooth 8 speed this is a monumental blunder by Ford to look good on paper in EPA tests that don't reflect real world drivers.
The Pentastar v6 is a lot better than the outgoing 3.5L lump IMO and the ZF transmission you have is awesome! I have had the ZF in my last two vehicles and love it. My Durango with the beefer version of the ZF 8 speed gets 22 on the highway. I have the V8 and the D is heavier than the GC.
I'm obviously not familiar with the Ford Edge. Weird thing is, when the video started I was thinking they had indeed improved the looks with the refresh. Bad thing is, I had it reversed on which one was the 2019.
Max power comes with 93 octane and max torque comes > @3500 rpm. Other brand which it competes with produce similar torque at much lower RPM - 1400 around and that produce similar power with 91 octane. Did I miss anything?
I like the explorer style grill and I’m glad they got rid of those weird triangle leds. But can you please tell Ford to have just one lcd screen in the center. It looks so much nicer especially with a digital speedometer
Soon as he said "Packed with technology" I backed out. There's a new market for car owners who want things less complicated...back to basics....power windows/locks, A/C, stereo, cruise. Cell phones have better nav. I have friends who taught me what "limp mode" is....and who spend hours checking all the fuses to fix electrical problems....I hate electrical problems....and so do repair guys. The 18's look better, the 18 you can get the 3.5 v6 which is not turbo or DI. And the 18's also have the shifter. Stupid dial shifter is just another series of things what will go wrong. So my vote is the 2018 as the last and best year to buy the Edge.
The Escape was, and is, such a good seller that they made the Edge look like the Escape. I like the new look. It's now more edgy. Probably gets better MPG with the new shape and 4 cylinder turbo. Some won't like the edgy look, but it's the future for Ford - and everyone else.

Had my heart set on this vehicle and was back and forth between this and the 2019 Sante Fe Limited. Price tag was basically the same at 37K... The Sante Fe won for two reasons, the 2.0 Turbo engine has way more power and we got it financed at 3% with no money down. Ford Edge has nice features also but the engine does not have enough power and we could not deal with the Finance Manager. They wanted $2500 down and $595 per month for 84 months. The Sante Fe was $0 down and $478 per month. I will give the Ford Edge 4 Stars and the only thing I did not like was the engine. Very nice SUV but so glad I bought the Sante Fe Limited. We love it and it saved us over $10K. One last thing, the Sales manager at D and D Ford in Greer, SC SUCKS!!!!! He’s very rude and obviously did not want my business. My credit score is 810 and he gave me one offer and would not negotiate further. He should be fired immediately!!!
2015 Ford Edge Titanium, First Time Review by Bob: Note: These are the negatives I put in that need tweaking. So far I still like my Edge. There is another software program issue with this & new Edges 2020. The key remote only opens the front side windows. It won’t allow you to close the windows as advertised. My Ford Fusion I love and the windows close and open with the remote. User Option I wish Ford made the next level with open window(s) automatically if car temp gets hot by 2 inches & closes windows if rain sensor detects rain. For Tall people 6’ with AC & Heated seats. 1. Brake peddle supporting frame gets in the way of my foot. Also it would be nicer if brake peddle was lower or level to gas peddle. Too high. 2. Front seat to be able to go back farther. There is no reason for this as I rarely have passengers. Can’t get comfortable in seat at high seat height leg cramping. Have to lower seat and have back at a lower angle to help with these issues. Center arm rest make It adjustable to more forward or have captain arm rest on seats. 3. Front seats needs to be firmer. 4. Adaptive Cruise control should not be an option. 5. Engine 3.5L 20xx to 2011 has Major water pump issues leaking coolant in engine. Hope mine won’t have this issue? It’s scary. Manufacturing design mistake. 6. Starting off at slow acceleration not smooth poor low throttle response. Great high throttle response. 7. Has torque steer sometimes. Pulls to the passenger side. 8. Wish it had a small dial shifter for more room & a iPhone plus holders. 9. Like the rear of my Edge with light bar going all the way across.
A ford dealer just told me the updated version will retail in England for £50,000 this is the very first time a new Ford has cost that much in the history of Ford in England
Dropping the naturally aspirated 3.5 v6 is another terrible decision by Ford. I work on these vehicles for a living and the old naturally aspirated engines such as the 2.5, 3.5, and the 4.6 are some of the best motors out there in terms of reliability. Was excited for the new Ranger but am going to have to pass because Ford wants to force the 2.3 ecoboost as the only option. Love my 3.0 v6
Not that we know better than the engineers (though some of us do), but that we are the ones who actually work on the vehicles and see how they do in the real world. Notice how I said specifically "some of the best motors, in terms of reliability." I didn't say fuel efficiency or torque or performance. The ecoboost motors are good depending on what your looking for though we have had coolant leak problems on all of them, esp from the turbos. The 1.6 on the fusion and escapes had an urgent recall due to the possibility of catching fire related to these coolant leaks. These great engineers do seem to make some of the same mistakes over and over again. Its gotten so ridiculous that on the 1.6 in the escape and the fusions there was a recall to change the dip stick and perform an oil change. Because the motors from the factory had been put with over 5.5-6qts according to workshop manual. The dip sticks were/are utterly impossible to read. The recall entailed performing the oil change, and punting 4.3qts back in instead of the 5.5-6qts that was originally stated. Then to put a yellow sticker on the engine cover that tells you some details including to put 4.3qts in because the engineers had overfilled the motors from the factory. That is just one of hundreds of stories of the crap that goes on. Engineers are there to save the company money first and foremost, reliability is maybe the 4th or 5th focus, esp today.
firepunch012 I do not like the rotary shifter. Its placement by the cup holders is begging to get soaked by a big gulp. Also, that placement still hogs console space, so what is the point? If they want the shifter out of the way, put it on the dash or have it jut out of the column.
@@joeys1482 Yeah. Just like in the Honda Accord. They have all those buttons layed out that takes up the same space as a real shifter. At least in the Chrysler 200 they had an open space under shifter.
Oh, further comment...all this technology is really amazing, but is it going to make us dependent on gadgets. I've been driving since the time we only had brakes and our feet to get us stopped, manual transmissions, and much later directional lights and automatic transmissions, dimmer switches on the floor and only AM radios. We did just fine staying our lanes, stopping in time (or at least I did) and letting people which direction we were going. Alas, I'm just an old dude who enjoyed driving (actually driving and not just guiding the car) and not being distracted by cell phones. Strange isn't it, but I can read a map and highway signs. I've driven to Canada, Alaska, Florida and California and never managed to get lost. Automobiles/trucks/sports cars are much better and more comfortable to be sure, but as for driving (steering/braking/shifting) experience has not advanced other than road feel(?). Oh, well, it's the 21st Century for better or worse. I've lived in two millenniums, two centuries, and seven decades and have enjoyed every minute of it. Now, let's talk about boating. $70,000 for a Bass boat? To catch fish?
Got an edge and now found out the 2.0 engine has a massive design flaw that dumps coolant into the cylinder head. Sales people will put you into one of these when they look all shiny and new but when the poor craftsmanship comes out they are nowhere to be seen.
glad my edge has that 3.5 v6.
nothing beats that power on the highway.

The Ford Edge is awesome.
2015 Ford Edge Titanium, First Time Review by Bob:
Note: These are the negatives I put in that need tweaking.
Ugh, no V-6? Hope you don't have to take the storm door pano roof with upgrades
Black wheels and black grill looks the best on this Edge and most cars.
Edge st review soon?
Dropping the naturally aspirated 3.5 v6 is another terrible decision by Ford. I work on these vehicles for a living and the old naturally aspirated engines such as the 2.5, 3.5, and the 4.6 are some of the best motors out there in terms of reliability. Was excited for the new Ranger but am going to have to pass because Ford wants to force the 2.3 ecoboost as the only option. Love my 3.0 v6
3.7 too
3.0 24V DOHC
Yes im sure the auto tech knows all the engineering better than the engineers
NinjaForeChrist I like how you guys say that ford is reliable. That’s funny to me.
But I like the shifter better, it's in the perfect placement, I love how My arm rests on it for one
firepunch012 I do not like the rotary shifter. Its placement by the cup holders is begging to get soaked by a big gulp. Also, that placement still hogs console space, so what is the point? If they want the shifter out of the way, put it on the dash or have it jut out of the column.

Yeah.
To catch fish?
they redesigned a shifter assy and made it a dial deal in order to accommodate a usb port ?...and 22 buttons on a steering wheel?...jeezus
Like the presentation and explanation, Thanks.
The front of the 2019 edge looks a little bit like the front of the 2019 mustang
Iphonedo reference was positively surprising !!!!!!!!
I didn’t think anyone would catch that! 🤣
“Bigger brakes if you are going to take to the track”. Lol! Yeah right!
They made it look worse and got rid of the reliable V6. 🤦🏻♂️
Governor Gibbs yupp agree
Yea, they want it to be cheaper so it'll break faster. Old ford's were tanks, new Fords are cheap garbage
Auto makers will always cheapen or eliminate something that the buying public loves. They basically force us to get used to downgrades.
Water pump in the 3.5L is like a 1200 dollar expense. It wasn't the most reliable.
Very rare failure on that
Thanks for the detail video
Looks great.
thumbs down for the rotary dial shifter.
I don't like the rotary telephone dial shifter because it's difficult.
The older model looks far, far better especially from the front.
Great job with this video and presentation!
Upgraded brakes - "best all around option if you're gonna take your vehicle to the track" LOL.....definitely taking a Ford Edge to the track boys!!!
I only like the new technology hate the front and back definitely not upgrading
You’re my next ride my momma’s paying I’m the second driver luv that Sirius XM long live American Fords 😍😍😍😎😎😎💥💥💥💥
Got an edge and now found out the 2.0 engine has a massive design flaw that dumps coolant into the cylinder head. Sales people will put you into one of these when they look all shiny and new but when the poor craftsmanship comes out they are nowhere to be seen.
I don't know if it's just me but it looks like they're starting to go more towards the Ford ecosport look
So it controls itself in certain situations? 🤔 I don’t like that at all
