Want to learn how to make money buying and selling season tickets? All that info and more is inside! I even share how much I made selling my season tickets during the Toronto Raptors 2019 championship run to the NBA Finals!
1) Sell locally. If you can find ticket buyers in your local area, then you'll be at an advantage to everyone selling tickets online. You can directly communicate with ticket buyers, negotiate prices, and still come out ahead compared to those who are selling their tickets online and dealing with large transaction fees and commissions.
2) Build a client list. Like the above, as you sell tickets locally, you'll also start to develop client relationships. Use this to your advantage so that you can contact them again in the future. As you build up your list of clients, this will become more valuable down the road since you'll be able to rely on them to purchase tickets from you each and every season, along with those magical playoff runs.
3) Ability to list tickets early. This is a big one, especially if you are not able to sell locally. Once a new season and schedule is announced, you'll be able to list your tickets early and potentially make outsized returns on early sales since there will be much less competition for available tickets. Things will eventually normalize, but at the onset you'll be one of the few with listings available for purchase and could potentially make a lot of money selling those season tickets early on.
4) Playoffs playoffs playoffs. This is the golden goose of owning season tickets. When a team qualifies for the playoffs, this is where all your patience and dedication to the team pay off. You can earn large returns well in excess of the regular season profits should your team both qualify for the playoffs and potentially head all the way to the championship round/games in their respective leagues. The 2019 Toronto Raptors run led me to earn huge profits which are shared in this video.

Love seeing the numbers - really makes you appreciate how much money there is to be made in tickets
It’s definitely mind boggling at some of these events!
Great video!!!
😻😻
I have never been a huge fan of buying season tickets. Seen way to many games in Buffalo with the Sabres and Bills where 70 dollar tickets can be had for 10 dollars outside the game. Sure some events will pop it really depends on your market. Building a list is key. Nice hit on the Raptor seats.
Oh I totally agree with you on seeing tickets fail with season seats. Especially in the very lean years. Before DD and Lowry took the raptors anywhere, you could get $6 tickets almost every night. Got the dark side of season tickets video in the works to show just how bad it really gets. With some terrible examples haha. But when you hit, it’s a great feeling
The Texans had a 10-12 year waitlist for season tickets. Now ticket holders can’t even get rid of their license at a huge discount. Definitely the highs and lows of season tickets. Another negative about NFL tickets is that the Super Bowl is in a different city, and even if you have season tickets to a team that is in the game, you most likely aren’t going to get tickets to the big game. Every other sport has the playoffs in the cities that are in the game.
Watched a bunch of your videos ! Thank you for that!
Wanted to know if there is anyway I can get in touch with you , would like a one on one lesson possibly. Or just time to ask you some questions , obviously I will pay you for your time. Thanks man
Fire me an email - it’s on my IG or RUclips profile and we can discuss
How do you calculate what to charge for your tickets? With so many variables throughout the season day to day or week to week, are there any tools or strategies for pricing tickets?
There are lots of automation tools out there, but I like to price things myself. I think it’s a skill that you learn over time, but if you’re just starting out, you can always start by listing high and then reviewing similar seats near yours, and then also in various sections throughout the building to see what top prices are going for as well. Once you have a top and bottom price idea, adjust accordingly. Rival matches will be more expensive, weekends generally more expensive, playoffs almost always more expensive
Great video! I want to start reselling tickets and I have some questions: What do you think of College Football Season Tickets? Can they be profitable? What are the best seats for selling?
I like college football, definitely can be profitable. it depends entirely on prices and donation levels as some of the best seats can be obtained today but if the donation is too high then it makes the ticket no longer worth the purchase. generally lower bowl seats do the best but again, price is king here
Hi, what are your thoughts on buying a 10 game ticket package for the sixers this year?
Really depends on the schedule and pricing, but if it offers presale access for playoffs there could be some good value. Have to see what matchups you’re getting to really evaluate the value though
Do you have any recomanded sections?
Can you make a video explaining how to sell tickets on SeatGeek. Because idk if when you sell you need to have a credit card or if a debit card is good enough. Thank you
An excellent idea! Shall add to my list 😁 as for your specific question, it appears you require a credit card (so wouldn’t expect a debit card to work) but let me try and confirm that 100% for you!
@@thumbsuprun ok thank you👍🏾
thanks for the insight. I just bought season tickets for the LA Chargers for the first time. First time actually ever going to a NFL Game. But bought season tickets to go to some games and sell a few for a profit I hope. Also bought Rolling Stones tickets today at face value as a SOFI stadium license holder. So from what your telling me. List the Stones Tickets early and list the NLF Games I cant go to. Cheers and Thanks
Seems like you got the right idea! Rolling Stones should be a good one too depending where you got your seats.
That’s basically how I started with the Ottawa Senators too - go to the games I want and sell the rest. Just be sure to leave a few of the big rivalry matchups for sale as tempting as it may be to attend. Remember that as a season seat holder, you’re going to have so many games that you can go to that you’ll find some great matchups even in some of the smaller matchups. Good luck!!
Bought season tickets as well! Hoping to come out with a decent profit
Best of luck!!
Congrats!!! I got season tickets to the Rams
Woohoo
I was able to get tickets for Game 3 of the NBA Western Conference finals Mavericks vs Warriors. I listed them at $900 each since that’s what most are going from my section. Should I list the price lower to the average or just wait and see how prices fluctuate?
It’s entirely market driven on whether the price you set is too high/too low/just right, so if you had a price in mind I’d wait just a little bit to see where new listings settle at as more people list inventory.
The other factor to consider is how the series progresses and also what day of the week the game is happening. Looks like a Sunday so should be good! If the mavs are up 2-0 that would also increase the price for tickets too, vs being down 0-2 or 1-1.
Nothing wrong with being patient, but it can be stressful holding onto inventory until the last minute. At this point I’d take a wait and see approach though and adjust it after each game takes place
Thanks! I just bought Chiefs season tickets, they’ll most likely make the playoffs, if you sell locally do they typically give you cash and you transfer the ticket to them?
Depends, some people pay cash, others etransfer/paypal/Venmo/cashapp. It all works the same way though - once you get paid transfer over the tickets
I’m going to have to buy Chiefs tix next season
@jarrett how did it go with the season tickets? Did you make your money back or was it a lost?
Hi I took your advice about craigslist and posted my raider seats but it keeps getting taken down, can you do a video on how to do that.
Do we have to do a separate post for each game.
are we allowed to put a price that is much higher than cost?
Damn thing is they don’t even tell me whet the problem is for me to fix it.
The biggest issue with Craigslist is a lot of people will flag your posts if you’re asking for more than face value these days. Facebook marketplace is a different option that could work for you, or if you can find a fan forum on Facebook or even Reddit, you may be able to build up a bit of a client base that way too. What you should try is to create an ad with the ticket price of $1 so people will generally leave up the post and then they should be able to reach out that way. Give it a shot and let me know if you get any success/issues with keeping your listings up
@@thumbsuprun Those are great ideas.
So for craigslist I’ll put $1 in the price box then explain they are actually much more in the body of the text?
I’d actually just say 1$ on the post, and then have them contact you for prices (be sure to include the section, row and number of seats though in the post). You’ll get a lot of random poor quality responses but you’ll do better with volume this way. Some of these contacts may reach out again to you in the future as well 😁
Number of seats, not the actual seat numbers *. Ie 2 seats, 4 seats etc
quick question.
I have Dolphin season tix and they want to know if I want to purchase Parking passes for an extra $150 or about $15/game
Do you advise purchasing parking passes with the season tickets?
does anybody buy them on secondary sites?
can I sell them together or do they have to be separate sales?
Gods stuff!
That’s gotta be a record for the fastest response lol.
ok I’m buying the passes!👍🏼
Thanks
Good question! Parking is an interesting one because there are 100% buyers for parking - people will just buy parking at the same time of the tickets. You should check the following:
1) are the parking passes sold as individual game passes or is it a card? As long as each game can be broken apart, then it’s a go.
2) is your parking price cheaper than what someone would pay at the gate on arrival/is the parking in a better location than the general public? I like to have at least one of these be true before buying parking though it’s not a requirement.
You can do either in terms of sales - combined with the seats or separately in the parking listings. When combined with seats, I find it doesn’t always translate into profit in cheaper seats, but could be a great add-on for more premium seats.
There’s definitely individual parking buyers on resale sites, but prices can vary wildly and it can become very competitive. The amount of sales on parking can also be lower too so unless your parking is in a super prime location, you really need to fight on price for some of the general lots since the amount of sales will be limited as a whole
@@thumbsuprun holy fack I never even thought about asking if the parking passes can be broken up or not!. Great question.
I checked on stub hub and the passes are going for around $30 so that’s not too shabby
The real question I have is. How do I buy tickets no resale? How do the people who resale buy their tickets face value?
Depends on the type of event. For concerts, they buy them by using presale codes, for sports, many season seat holders gain first dibs access to early presales as well. Essentially, presales are the name of the game. If you wait for a general sale…good luck
Did you have lower level or upper level season tickets to raptors the year they won the championship?
Upper bowl for me
@@thumbsuprun how much were finals tickets going for in upper bowl?
Mine were around 300, prices were lower marginally for corners and more for lower rows centre bowl. Season seat pricing also sees a discount over face value
@@thumbsuprun how much were they reselling for though in the finals that year?
Well over 1k, with prices going up even higher as they approached the close out games (2k+ and up just to get into the building)
Any advice to bypass Facebook not letting you list event tickets?
Facebook has taken the position that they don’t like to list and sell tickets, so you will need to join private groups generally to find and sell your tickets that way instead
Do you sell your tickets under an agency business ?
I do not though I have some contacts that do. It’s a very lucrative market if you are able to provide tickets to travel and hospitality type agencies though
@@thumbsuprun thank you .. I have club seats for the new Sofi stadium and I actually thought about packaging “vip or full service” ticket which would include transportation etc. thanks!
That’s a really good idea when you own club seats/premium seating. You can definitely extract a lot of value that way! Package in accommodations as well if people are traveling and you can really offer something truly exclusive and unique
Do you use a pos system?
Absolutely, I use Skybox. Got any questions about a POS system?
@@thumbsuprun do you think it's worth it or necessary if you're still doing it on a fairly small scale? Like under 1k a month let's say
At that level I would say it isn’t necessary at all since managing listings can be easily done on your own. Where you’ll find value at that size is being able to list on multiple platforms using a POS, though it’s not a necessity when still building out your inventory at that size
@@thumbsuprun thanks 👍
@@thumbsuprunquestion how do you manage sell on multiple platforms with out double selling the same ticket with out a pos system? Is it possible? Currently I'm only using one platform at a time, stubhub.
How do you sell on Facebook?????? I tried and the post got rejected
You generally won’t get very lucky making a Facebook marketplace post, but if you can find a local ticket exchange group or a team specific group where fans are looking to sell and buy tickets, that’s the way to go
@@thumbsuprun man I’m really interested in getting some season seats for a few other teams I love. Would you advise that? Or just purchase and flip like you do
It could be worth the investment, but it really depends on the team, seat location and price point you’re looking at
@@thumbsuprun yea man I’m a Mavs season ticket holder and it’s been so good to me. I think I’m going to watch this season and take some notes and keep an eye on tickets. Do you recommend any college sports? Or stick to the pros
Btw I really appreciate you responding!
