If I purchased ticket insurance In case the event gets cancelled do I have to refund the $$ back to the person or does Ticketmaster do it directly to the person who bought it off of me ?
I think you may be mixing up a few different things. 1) ticket insurance only applies if the ticket purchaser is no longer able to attend the event due to a covered reason (ie sick, travel issues, etc) 2) if an event gets cancelled, Ticketmaster will refund the original ticket purchaser only. If the tickets were resold to someone else, Ticketmaster will NOT refund the final purchaser. 3) if you resold your tickets on a resale marketplace (Ticketmaster, Stubhub, etc) and the event gets cancelled, the seller is responsible for refunding the purchaser. However, if you’ve not been paid for the sale yet, then you won’t owe anything when the event gets cancelled. You’ll simply receive a refund from Ticketmaster if you are the original purchaser. Hope that clears it up!
Hi thank you so much for this! I have a question, is there a way to sell tickets to someone specific? Do we get to have the final say in the purchase e.g. who it is? I am trying to sell tickets to a specific person, and transfer is not available.
Hi! When I price my tickets I should include the fees I paid correct? So if the ticket cost is $100, tax is $20 and service fee $14 for a total of $134 per ticket -that is what I paid. I should keep that total cost in mind correct? It's too bad it doesn't list the price you paid so that you can compare it without having to look back to see what was paid. :-)
Yes. Include all fees and charges when tracking your ticket costs. Depending on how many tickets you sell, you really want to track the tax side as your accountant may be able to help you claim some of it back on your taxes 🙌🏽😁
hey. I have a question. I have bought TWICE tickets from a reseller and it cost a huge amount of money ($988). Im thinking of selling my ticket, but im scared of it not being sold and losing my money. If it doesn’t sell by that day, can I still keep the ticket and go to the concert?
Hello! Absolutely. If you list a ticket, you can always delist it at any time before it sells and use the ticket yourself. So if you list it and are unable to sell it by the event date, you can simply attend the concert. Just make sure you don’t leave the listing up or else you may run into trouble if it sells last minute and you don’t realize
Great question! The simple answer is no. If you haven’t been paid out and the event is cancelled, you are not responsible for issuing the refund to the buyer. Ticketmaster will take care of it since they don’t need to recuperate the payment from you
Ticketmaster allows you to set the number of tickets sold as a group when going through the split selections. If you have a group of let’s say 8 tickets, you can sell the seats as 2,4,6, or 8 together. If you had an odd number of tickets in the group, you can also again set your sale grouping to be almost any type of split but generally it will never allow you to leave only 1 seat remaining. For GA tickets though it’ll allow any type of split since all GA tickets are equivalent
Thank you for the video. It helped me get through the process of selling my tickets. I was stuck not seeing to add a bank account to the page not letting me select the continue button. Once again, Thank you.
Hello! Thank you for the video. Finally a video that is helpful about selling tickets on Ticketmaster. One question: Once the tickets are sold (that I listed), do I have to transfer them to the buyer, or does the buyer already get the tickets as soon as they purchases them? I sold on Ticketmaster fan resale option. I just want to make to sure to do it before I go on my trip out of country and that is why I sold them in the first place. Thank you in advance.
Let me double check - I believe if you list on Ticketmaster you can choose the quantity of how the tickets are sold, but I’m unsure if you can do so as a retail seller instead of a broker listing. I’ll take a look and see what I can find
Well you could just price everything as cheap as possible and it’ll sell 100% of the time, but there’s no guarantee you’ll make any money doing that (in fact it’s likely you’ll lose money). You should look to price your tickets similarly to what they are going for in a similar section and row as yours. If you price more aggressively, you can reduce your prices a bit compared to them if you’d like to get rid of your seats faster but you are likely leaving money on the table that way. It’s a lot of trial and error at the start
hi! thanks so much for the video - it’s a huge help! i have a question though - you mentioned that some events have a cap/limit on how much or little you can resell the tickets for. how do you know if the event you are selling has that or not? do you need to ask them or is it public knowledge somewhere?
I just bought two tickets online for a Padres game.$187 total! I did it late at night right after my 6 nights of 10 hr shifts. I knew I should have waited til the next morning when I wasn't delerious however, I felt rushed to do it. I wasn't even on Ticketmaster and thought I was when I did a search for games in San Diego where I live. Somehow I ended up buying two tx in Denver Colorado. I don't even know anybody there. All sales are final and I can't cancel through the site or my credit card but the rep from my credit card suggested I try doing this....So hopefully they send me the tx quickly so I can try this.. thanks for the video.. I never would have been able to figure this out on my own without getting a teenager involved to help
I’ve been there before too buying the wrong tickets to events before. Just get them listed and sold and hopefully collect all your money back 🤞🏽 let me know if you need any additional help
Thanks for this informative video! Two questions just to confirm my understanding, would you be able to just go over event cancellation? And its expected to get paid about 5-10 business days (may be longer depending based on comments) after the sell date or after the event date?
Event cancellation works fairly straightforward. If your event is cancelled, you’ll be reimbursed for your purchase in a timeframe of about 2 -4 weeks from the exchange. It can be extended if you purchased it directly from Ticketmaster/box office as it also depends on the promoter for returning the funds as well. For sales made on Ticketmaster, you’ll generally be paid out about 1-2 weeks after the event takes place. If you sold tickets and then the event was subsequently cancelled, your sale will be cancelled so you won’t get paid out for that, but then you’ll also receive a refund for your purchase so net 0 in the end
As long as the tickets were not ‘will call’ tickets, then yes you’ll be fine. Tickets are tied to an account and not a card so you should be able to use the tickets on the account regardless of who’s credit card you used
Hello! Thank you for making this video as I am planning to sell my ticket. My question is Is there a difference between selling an original ticket and selling a resale ticket? I bought a resell ticket but I found a better seat so I am planning to sell them. Thank you so much! And hoping for your response
Woohoo! You’ll get paid out a week or two after the event happens. If the event has happened already, it should still follow the same timeline. If the event hasn’t happened yet, then just gotta wait for the event date and then up to two weeks afterwards for payment
Yep, that’s standard practice these days unfortunately. Things changed once covid hit and all resale marketplaces adjusted their policies to pay after event
If you sign up to sell with a ticket broker consignment company you could move to getting paid on delivery instead of after event. Can dm me on IG or Twitter @thumbsuprun to discuss
I have a question, which do you think is better? To receive the cash with my checking account or my debit card from the bank? Wouldn’t it be the same result or what?
Would not make any difference so long as all the options are accepted by ticketmaster. One won’t arrive any faster than the other once the payment is issued by the exchange
You should consider the taxes and fees you paid for your ticket as well when you post a selling price, correct? Can I assume the sale price you enter is all inclusive for what you will get back minus the selling fee?
Hey I have a question. I resold two tickets for less than 300 dollars but I still received a 1099k form but I was below 600 dollars? Do I still need to fill it out?
I have never tried to enter a debit card as the refund option - if there is an ability to enter a debit card though, then you should be fine so long as they can pull the funds as needed. From what I recall you require a credit card but I could be wrong, need to double check
I just subscribe to a lot of newsletters to stay informed about new shows. Then I’ll jump over to Ticketmaster after the fact to see when they go on sale
Hi , Thankyou for the information! I still dont know why it doesn’t let me click on the “TIN type “ and it keeps saying that i cant submit the form before i change/click on the tin type!!
Hi I was wondering if you could help me, I had just put out two tickets I bought from vivid seats yesterday to Ticketmaster. When looking back at the venue, it is not showing my listing is they’re anything I’m missing? Thank you.
Interesting situation! Did you complete all of the steps to list the seats, including adding a credit card onto your Ticketmaster account? Can dm me on IG and we can look into it in detail to see what’s the issue
I got question. I got blackpink ticket. try to sell it after I decided to cancel but im stuck on something called "Listing Pending" I cant transfer, sell or see my barcode for my ticket. Any idea how to fix this?
Hm it’s definitely frustrating - you can attempt to contact Ticketmaster to try and release it for you or you may just need to wait another couple of days for it to process through. Easiest way is to try and contact Ticketmaster via your ticket orders page or through Twitter
They will pay their own separate Ticketmaster fees. Just list your tickets at the price you’re most comfortable with for payout and then you won’t need to worry about anything else as the buyer will need to pay any additional fees
If i list 4 tickets can people buy 2 of them when they search up ticket or will it only show for people who want to purchase 4 tickets? If so should i do separate listings to show for more people?
You can choose to have your listing of 4 tickets to be sold as a pair or as a set of 4. It’s completely up to you! It’s easier to let the buyer be able to decide between 2 and 4 instead of forcing them one way or the other. In general most listings will default to only selling in even amounts depending on the site you list it to
Hi Shiraz, great tutorial! I'm currently reselling a couple concert tickets on TM. They're for December, one weekday and one weekend day. However, I noticed I have the option of selling them either in pairs/groups or individually because some seats I bought are next to each other. What info about the show do you think could help me decide which option to go with, for greater chances of selling? I assume it'd be harder to sell 5 tickets altogether, because it's more expensive. 2 ideas I had was checking surrounding seats to see what other sellers are doing and whether they're successful, and considering the section the seats are in. Cheaper seats might have a higher chance of attracting a whole group, while floor seats might see more traffic from individual buyers.
Your general logic isn’t wrong, though if you list a pack of 5 tickets together, there should generally be an option to list the tickets in groups so that it can sell tickets either as 2/3 or 1/4, and let the buyers out there decide how they want to attend. Just because you have that large set of tickets together doesn’t mean you need to force it as a set of 5 only, though there are definitely some groups out there who are looking for larger sets and may even consider purchasing 5 seats all together. There’s no wrong way of approaching it though
Thanks for the information! One question-on my listing page it says payment sent to bank account, but I have yet to receive the payment. How long is the process once payment is sent? Thank you
It’s possible the event is not enabled for TM resale, or your account is missing some seller info to be able to list the tickets. Check the event and see if others have listed tickets for it already (should see red dots on ticketmaster) and if so then it’s likely you just need to complete the seller info before you can activate your listings. If there are no resale seats though then Ticketmaster has not enabled resale on the event
Thanks for an informative video! Has anyone tried selling tickets on TM and it's still showing up on your account as unsold even after you got an email saying that it was? I was trying to sell 4 tickets and managed to sell 2, almost two weeks ago. Since I haven't sold the last two yet, I was going to lower the selling price but when I looked into my account, it still says I have 4 tickets available for resale. Can buyers back out once they've paid? Or is it not updating because the event hasn't passed yet?
That’s an odd one! Maybe can contact TM to confirm the seats have actually sold by referencing the sale email and confirmation number you get. It could just be a display issue on the backend where it’s showing the original tickets still even though new barcodes were issued
If it hasn’t been activated by the time the general sale has passed, then it is unlikely you’ll see the resale button activate at this point. As long as the transfer button is available though you should be able to resell the tickets on a different marketplace
There’s a few articles from last year stating that tickets for Leeds fest were transferable so I can only assume it will open up for transfer in the future as well (though I cannot confirm this with 100% certainty). You may reach out to Ticketmaster directly and confirm with them to see if the event will open up transfer windows closer to the event though
I purchased 4 tickets for Copa America 2024 in Las Vegas from Canada 🇨🇦. Due to personal reasons I’m unable to attend the event. When I try to resell my tickets on Ticketmaster, the website does not recognize my Canadian debt card. I’m not sure what should I do? Any advice, please? Thanks
Im trying to resell two baseball tickets (SF Giants vs Dodgers) and it will not let me resell them... says the event is a not a resale fan to fan exchange. It says only ticketmaster events can be resold. Can you only resell concert tickets? Wish someone would have told me before hand.
Some events on Ticketmaster do not enable resale for a multitude of reasons. However, it doesn’t mean you can’t resell the tickets. Once you have your barcodes, you can attempt to list them directly on Stubhub as they are the official resale partner for the MLB. Otherwise you can list the tickets on various other platforms like TickPick as mobile transfer tickets (so long as the transfer option is enabled)
Hey There, Great Video. When I resell my tickets on TM, will the new owner see the original price that I paid? I want to make sure I have added all the additional fees involved, 11% that I am charged.
Generally the new buyer won’t see the original price of the tickets, once they move over to the new buyer the standard is the tickets display as 0.00$ for face value. Only exception here is some season seats keep the face value as they move over (what the original person paid) or if they are PDF tickets then it obviously doesn’t change then either. But normally it displays as 0
U listed a ticket and at the bottom of the email it says when the tickets are purchased the payment will go to my account 10-13 days after the concert and the concert is all the way in November. But idk if it will actually take that long for them to put the payment in my account???
Many resale marketplaces are only doing ‘pay after event’ because they are trying to conserve cash. The payout will likely only take place 2 weeks after the event is completed. So if it gets delayed a year, then your payment will also get delayed :(
Some states do require a license such as New York, though it’s only for ‘professional’ resellers who meet the criteria for this label. For the average fan selling a ticket here and there though, you normally don’t need a license but would still need to report the income for tax purposes
If nobody purchases your ticket, you still retain ownership of the seat. So you could use them if you wanted, otherwise if you don’t then they will basically expire worthless
It depends how the festival allows access. Many times the wristband IS the ticket, no the email confirmation. Ensure you set up the delivery correctly. It’s possible that you need to send both, while other times it may simply just be the wristband OR the mobile ticket. Double check to ensure you don’t run into an issue
So if the tickets show up in your Ticketmaster account once they transfer them over to you, technically the answer is yes. However, that requires the event to have Ticketmaster resale enabled. If it does, you can certainly sell those tickets on Ticketmaster 😁
I want to resell my paramore ticket purchased but I don’t want to sell the other two on my account. How do I sell the ticket to someone else and transfer the ticket to them without them having to log into my account? The resale and transfer button is not available for my tickets so I want to sell on another site. I’m just not sure how to transfer the tickets to that person once it’s sold
Great question! So to start off, you always have the option of listing and selling any number of tickets in your account, it doesn’t need to be all or nothing. If the event is not enabled for Ticketmaster resale, your next best option will be to use a resale site like Stubhub to list and sell tickets as mobile transfer in this case. Paramore has what is called a delivery delay on their tickets until a few days before each show, meaning the transfer option may not be enabled until potentially 24-72 hours before the show takes place. However, once the delay is lifted, you will be able to transfer any number of tickets. When listing on a site like Stubhub, you can select your in hand date of when your tickets will be ready to be as late as possible (ie 2 days before the show) and if your tickets sell before then, you will just have to transfer the tickets to the new buyer once the transfer window opens up, and leave your own tickets that you want to keep and use in your account
@@thumbsuprun thank you so much for your response. The “sell” option has become available on Ticketmaster. I’m happy to know that I can select the amount of tickets in my account that I want to sell. Thank you!! New subscriber here!
Felt silly needing this video, realised i just needed to go on desktop, i cant find the resale on their mobile app 😭😭 but its listed for resale now and thats all that matters
hi, i’m trying to sell a GA ticket for a show and because it’s not an allocated seat it’s not showing on the map on ticketmaster, another resale ticket for that section is being shown ahead, can my ticket still sell?
The other ticket being broadcast is likely cheaper than your listing so that one will be displayed first. You could try to reduce your price or wait for the other one to sell first and then yours could be the next to go
Got ticket for event on 2nd July but I can no longer go so want to resell. But the ticket has already arrived at my house. Can I relist on ticket master? Will I still have time to post it to the new buyer before the event?
If the event is on Ticketmaster and the ‘sell tickets’ button is available, you won’t need to post out the tickets at all - Ticketmaster handles issuing new barcodes directly when they sell. If you bought them not from Ticketmaster though, you can list your tickets on other resale sites like Stubhub, vivid seats or tickpick as hard stock tickets and then you will be able to ship the hard stock tickets to the buyer with the prepaid shipping label provided by the resale exchange
hello very good video I had a question, I am buying the tickets for harry styles but it tells me that they will only be available in ticketmaster 5 days before the event, that means that I cannot sell them before that??
Great question! The simple answer is it doesn’t matter when tickets are available for viewing and when tickets are able to be resold on Ticketmaster, they are two independent options. Tickets can be enabled for resale on TM well before barcodes are available for you to view in your account. Other times events are just not enabled for resale at all. If an event does not turn on resale a few days after the general sale takes place, then it’s very likely the event will not turn on resale at all through TM. In that case, you’ll need to list and sell the tickets on a different platform. You can always list your tickets on other platforms at any time, but make sure you put the in hand date as late as possible to line up with when the tickets will become available for you to transfer
Hey! So i bought a resale ticket, but i found a better seat (also a resale ticket) that i want to purchase. If i sell the original resale ticket that i bought, the refund automatically goes to the seller correct? Also, if the event is postponed or canceled once i’ve sold that ticket, am i responsible for refunding the buyer or is the other seller responsible (the one who sold it to me)?
For the original resale ticket, if the event is cancelled then you should be able to get a refund on the purchase from the place you purchased the ticket from. The original ticket buyer will get a refund from the box office. If you sell a ticket, you’re technically responsible for refunding the buyer of that ticket (but it would just be for the sale price you sold it to them at) and you would get a refund from the person/site you purchased the ticket from
It usually takes about a 5-8 business days for payment to post if you sold them directly through Ticketmaster to your bank, and then your bank may take a few days to process the payment as well. If you try contacting customer support they would be able to tell you what’s going on though. I wouldn’t be too worried yet, they are a little slow at times...
I ran into a issue where the concert was rescheduled one year later Sept 2022. They did offer a refund time which i missed as I had hoped to go but now I unable to go and I'm sort of stuck. Ticketmaster told me this concert isn't allowing me to sell my tickets as the button isn't highlighted so can not go that route. It does say I can transfer my tickets but I don't know how that works. Any advice?
If the transfer button is avaialble, it means you would be able to sell your tickets on a different platform (Stubhub, tickpick, Gametime, etc) as mobile transfer tickets. Once they sold on another platform, you’d simply need to transfer the ticket to the new buyer to complete the sale
Thanks for the video. I have a situation... so today my mom bougth a ticket from a scalper/reseller ( x3 times much more expensive) because she did not know that it is not worth it buying a ticket much more expensive than it should. I already did this but tbh I am afraid that we are not gonna be able to actually get our money back and we will not sell the ticket for the price that she paid for. Any advice? Thank you again :)
Well if you’re looking to sell the ticket now instead of use them, there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to sell it for enough to get back all your money you paid depending on the cost of the tickets your mom paid. You can certainly try to list them for enough and hope someone does purchase them though at the price you like! It’s tough when you purchase resale tickets since the cost can be much higher. See what people are currently selling tickets for in a similar section and row as yours and see if they are around the price you paid (or more or less)
I have Mastercard as my primary buying of tickets. Do they deposit the amount on to credit card, if I sell it. I have tickets for pet shop boys and new order tomorrow that I won't be able to attend. Would it be better to sell them now, or Tomorrow as the event is happening?
If you sell tickets, money will hit your bank account, not your credit card. In the case of events taking place within 24-48 hours, it’s better to get them listed as soon as you can to give yourself the most amount of time to get them sold
Great video! I do have a question: I added my Canadian checking account but it still doesn’t show. I did get an email confirming that this method was added to my Account, but I can’t see it on the selling ticket page where it asks me to select how I would like to get paid. Can you please help? Thank you!
Did you complete the confirmation step with the two deposit amounts? That would be the main thing id look at first. If that’s done, then we may need to dig a little deeper
Question, if I buy the tickets I get them on my phone right away? And the seller doesn’t have any more access to it? Also is it 100% I won’t get scammed?
When a ticket is transferred to your Ticketmaster/AXS account, then you’re completely safe as you are the only one with valid barcodes for the event. Any old barcodes become invalidated even if they had tried to save them to their phone before transferring them to you.
Hi quick question... I currently have a ticket purchased through AXS but they have a +10% cap on how much it can be resold for so I want to resell it on Ticketmaster instead. Do you know how to transfer the ticket from my AXS account to my own Ticketmaster one or is this not possible?
Tickets from AXS cannot be moved into a Ticketmaster account as they are held on two different platforms. Some events allow 3rd party listings, but you generally need a service to get listings up on Ticketmaster for AXS events. You could look to list the tickets perhaps on Stubhub as mobile transfer tickets
Unfortunately sales made on the resale marketplace are almost always final sale with no option for a refund. With the insurance purchase you have some potential ways out, but not guaranteed if they aren’t one of the covered reasons. Your best option would be to sell the tickets again by listing them yourself and trying to recuperate your money back that way. If the event gets cancelled though, you would then be entitled to your full refund but that’s a bit of a risk just hoping and waiting for that
So it's only possible to sell tickets if I have an USA account? What if I'm not from the USA or Canada? For example, I'm from Brazil, is there an option for another country?
If you’re trying to sell tickets in a different country than you live in on Ticketmaster, you need to have a bank account in that country the event is taking place in. If you live in Brazil, my recommendation is to list tickets on a different platform instead of Ticketmaster (try Stubhub or SeatGeek as an example)
Can I sell tickets that I did NOT buy on Ticketmaster...? I need to sell a parking ticket that I do NOT need anymore. It is not listed in my Ticketmaster events- Because I did not buy it through Ticketmaster
Head to your ticket orders and find the specific event you bought. It should be displayed there. If you bought tickets today, it’s possible there will be a delay since Taylor swift has caused a lot of strain on the Ticketmaster servers
hey man so its says that they deposit the money once the event its done and the event its for the next year, what should i do, I guess them changed their policy or something like that.
Yes, they changed their policy during 2020 to pay after event. I’ll need to make an updated version of the video sometime. Just need to keep it in mind if selling tickets on Stubhub
What’s your question exactly? Buyers will always need to pay on purchase, but payouts are held back until events are completed. This change of when payouts are done was made during 2020. If you become a larger seller though, you can qualify for payout on delivery though
@@thumbsuprun so now if I buy tickets for an event that is seven months from right now and then I sell these tickets a week from today I still have to wait six+ months to be paid ?
so if the event is cancelled, i have to refund the buyer money that they paid me and then what happens with me/my own refund? i'm sorry, i got a little lost during this part.
Very valid question! I’m actually making a video on this whole topic this week 😄 Basically though, if you sell tickets to someone through Ticketmaster, you’re responsible for issuing the refund and that amount is charged directly to your credit card that you added to your account. Ticketmaster will then issue you a refund for your purchase to the same card you used to buy the tickets originally. It’s a little convoluted but you are still going to get your money back haha. Let me know if it’s still unclear or not
If you sell your tickets through Ticketmaster, Ticketmaster will pay you for the sale. Then if the event is later cancelled, you’ll have to repay the ticket sale amount back to Ticketmaster. However, you’ll get a refund from where you bought your tickets from. So if you had originally purchased the tickets from Ticketmaster, you’ll get a refund on your original purchase from them. If the person who bought your tickets purchased insurance, this will have no impact on you because insurance only applies for events that you can no longer attend for a listed reason and the insurance provider will pay the ticket buyer a payout equal to the ticket cost they paid. You will not be affected by any insurance claims, you’ll be paid out as normal
If that’s the case, you can sell them in advance but only deliver them 5 days before the event itself. You just need to set your in hand date to the time when you will be able to deliver the tickets
Thanks for the Video! I have coldplay tickets that I'm looking to resale, since I scored floor seats on another day they will be performing. I don't have the option to resale when I go to the sell page, it says that resale for this event is not available. This is strange as a see other seats around mine (200s) and in the 400s level already listed verified resale by other people. My seats are not VIP/platinum, they're just regular 200 level seats. Any idea why I can't resale when others have been able to?
Excellent question! It’s my understanding that you would be able to list and sell your tickets but I haven’t used Klarna before so will need to look into it in detail. Is your ticket eligible for transfer from your account right now? If yes, you should be able to sell the ticket. It’s possible Ticketmaster may restrict it but you could sell it from a different platform (Stubhub, seat geek etc) as long as the ticket is able to be transferred.
besides stubhub, what other sites do you like to resell tix? vivid, seatgeaks, axs etc? do you only use one, or do you resell on all of them? thank you!
If you use a POS system or a ticket consignment group, you can gain access to listing on multiple sites all at the same time automatically. If you want suggestions on that side of things just fire me a message on IG!
@@thumbsuprun sounds a little too complicated for me. since i have been so unlucky trying this reselling tix business out, i may just only do it now and then when i see 5-10x type return on tix. here are some of my thoughts: superbowl (any ideas on how i can score tix for arizona or las vegas), maybe madonna, maybe beyonce, madonna and britney spears, bts (probably in 2 yrs), adele, and possible one direction reunion. i am taking a massive bath on lady g, bruno, and the who. thanks so much for your help. you are truly a good dude. much karma to you.
It’s super simple to get set up but no worries! If you just wait for big events then you’ll probably be able to do just fine. Only thing I would warn you about is that just because an artist is popular doesn’t always mean they will have 5-10x profits. And sometimes no name artists will have huge upside. The pricing and venue locations are the most important things
When listing tickets, the standard is to never leave 1 seat on its own. If you leave everything as default, the tickets will sell as a single, or a group of 3. If a single is purchased, than the 2 remaining seats will only be sold as a pair. There should generally be an option to say ‘don’t leave 1 ticket’ but the standard is to ensure it doesn’t leave only 1. Which platform are you looking to list on?
Hi! im thinking about selling my ticket but the ticket that I originally bought was A Ticketmaster resale ticket. If I sell my ticket through Ticketmaster and the event gets postponed or cancelled, am I still able to get a refund even though my original ticket was a resale? also, when I pay the buyer back, I only have to pay them back the amount I got paid and not the extra fees or the listing price they choose correct?
You’re definitely able to resell a Ticketmaster resale ticket. If the event gets cancelled and you’ve sold the tickets, you’ll get back a refund on what you paid for the ticket. If they were sold, you would owe whatever you received for the ticket sale. Essentially you’ll be back to net 0
For ticketmaster listings that you create and sell through the ticketmaster platform, tickets are set automatically to the buyer. Nothing else for you to do!
@@thumbsuprun thanks I just move to the desktop 🖥 instead of using it on my phone the phone app wasn’t cooperating correctly and wouldn’t let me change things that I didn’t know wasn’t changing
Hi I bought a resale ticket on ticket master for Reading festival but realised I now can’t go, am I able to sell this again through ticket master? (It has not come up in my upcoming events but I have a confirmation) Only just purchased, so does it take time to process and then show up?
If you purchased your ticket through TM+ resale, then yes you should be able to sell them back direct through TM+. Normally as soon as you make a purchase there should be a confirmation of the ticket purchase in your account (no delay). When it hits your TM events page, you would be able to list your tickets directly back through there. Otherwise, you could attempt to sell your tickets through several other resale platforms if TM+ isn’t enabled for the event
It depends on the team. Some allow you to sell as many tickets as you want with no repercussions. Others have a limit of 50% or 25% or even lower. You’ll need to check with the individual team to confirm the exact number before they start cancelling accounts
Do you initially get your tickets from ticketmaster or do you get them elsewhere? And would there be problems for someone in the uk selling tickets to Canadian or American events
Most tickets will come from Ticketmaster initially since they normally operate the box office ticket sales. The only problems someone from the UK would have selling tickets to Canadian or US events is that you may not be able to list and sell on Ticketmaster directly unless you have a bank account set up in those countries
The 1099 is needed when selling tickets in the US when your sales exceed $600 this year. If you’re not a US citizen then you should be able to get an exemption but otherwise yes it’s definitely mandatory to fill out the info. Take it up with the IRS 😭😅
Ticketmaster needs to verify your checking account by depositing a small amount to your account. I haven’t received these small deposits to verify yet (usually takes up to 5 business days). I can still list my tickets for sale but unsure if I will receive the money from the sell or if there will be a delay. Can I sell my ticket before verifying the small deposit?
If they don’t sell, unfortunately you will simply lose your money. You could also attend the event or give the tickets away, but otherwise the tickets become worthless
Where did you buy your tickets from? A random individual or from a ticket exchange? If an individual, you’d need to contact them and request your refund as they would be the one responsible for issuing it to you. If you bought it from an exchange, then you will need to contact them to get your refund. In general though, wherever you bought the ticket from is where you’d request your refund
You should be able to, assuming the event has not yet been paid out. If you are able to change the account on file, then remove the old one once the new one has been added in. If there is a problem, you may need to contact Ticketmaster directly to ensure it will send payment to the new account
Yo, thank you so much! I got two sets of tickets (took what I could get at the time, then better tickets became available), this helped me so much!
Woohoo! The best feeling
If you attempt to sell a ticket and no one has purchased it overtime, are you able to change the price as the date gets closer?
Thanks for the great video. That was very helpful with me having to resell my daughter's tickets! You are a very good presenter!
Glad to hear it helped! Feel free to reach out with questions 😁
If i remove the tickets of the resale place, Could i add those tickets again in this part for sell it ?
If I purchased ticket insurance In case the event gets cancelled do I have to refund the $$ back to the person or does Ticketmaster do it directly to the person who bought it off of me ?
I think you may be mixing up a few different things.
1) ticket insurance only applies if the ticket purchaser is no longer able to attend the event due to a covered reason (ie sick, travel issues, etc)
2) if an event gets cancelled, Ticketmaster will refund the original ticket purchaser only.
Thank you!! I don't want to waste 20 minutes without even knowing how much he paid and other needed info like profit.
Ticketmaster will take care of it since they don’t need to recuperate the payment from you
Great tutorial. Quick question. How do we list the sale of our tickets as a group instead of as individual tickets?
Any way to know BEFORE you buy tickets on TM if they will be available to resell on TM?
Click on the ! icon when you go to the event and it would say “sell”
You’re awesome 😂 Love your humor and joy. You made something that could have been boring into an enjoyable video! Thank you ❤
Great great tutorial. I'm curious to know if someone can do the ticket resale while outside USA and Canada.
The tickets are digital. TM will transfer the tickets.
Thanks for the video. Good job explaining what and the how. My question is, can I sell my tickets in a lot? Meaning sell all or none?
Let me double check - I believe if you list on Ticketmaster you can choose the quantity of how the tickets are sold, but I’m unsure if you can do so as a retail seller instead of a broker listing. I’ll take a look and see what I can find
two small deposits from Ticketmaster in your bank account ?? Im confuse help
is there a strategy i should know as to when i should put my tickets to sell so that they may 100% be sold every time
Well you could just price everything as cheap as possible and it’ll sell 100% of the time, but there’s no guarantee you’ll make any money doing that (in fact it’s likely you’ll lose money).
@@thumbsuprun Thankyou!!
Thanks for this informative video! Two questions just to confirm my understanding, would you be able to just go over event cancellation? And its expected to get paid about 5-10 business days (may be longer depending based on comments) after the sell date or after the event date?
Event cancellation works fairly straightforward. If your event is cancelled, you’ll be reimbursed for your purchase in a timeframe of about 2
-4 weeks from the exchange.
@@thumbsuprun thank you!!
i have a question i bought tickets but i used my moms card but i’m not going with her i’m going with a friend can you still be able to get in ?
As long as the tickets were not ‘will call’ tickets, then yes you’ll be fine. Tickets are tied to an account and not a card so you should be able to use the tickets on the account regardless of who’s credit card you used
Hello! Thank you for making this video as I am planning to sell my ticket. My question is Is there a difference between selling an original ticket and selling a resale ticket? I bought a resell ticket but I found a better seat so I am planning to sell them. Thank you so much! And hoping for your response
No difference in selling a ticket purchased from the box office or a resale ticket purchased. The process will work the exact same 😁
Hiiii I just verified my bank account for Ticketmaster and do you know when it’ll hit my bank account?
Woohoo! You’ll get paid out a week or two after the event happens. If the event has happened already, it should still follow the same timeline. If the event hasn’t happened yet, then just gotta wait for the event date and then up to two weeks afterwards for payment
So I posted my tickets for sale and it says I will get paid 7 days after the event if my tickets get sold, is that normal?
Yep, that’s standard practice these days unfortunately. Things changed once covid hit and all resale marketplaces adjusted their policies to pay after event
@@thumbsuprun and u know about any other web that dont have this policy? Or a way to sell the tickets
@@thumbsuprun thank you so much
I bought two resale tickets, but I only planned on using one. Can I sell the extra ticket or will they force me to sell both?
You can sell a single ticket for sure, you have the option of selecting how many you want to list and keep the rest. Go ahead and sell sell sell!
You should consider the taxes and fees you paid for your ticket as well when you post a selling price, correct? Can I assume the sale price you enter is all inclusive for what you will get back minus the selling fee?
It’s not letting me click the submit listing button.
Same with me did u find the solution??!!!
you have to enter your checking account and routing number at the top… and may have to add credit card again, then the submit button is activated
Hi! I have the same. You find the solution?
X2😭😭😭
Hey I have a question. I resold two tickets for less than 300 dollars but I still received a 1099k form but I was below 600 dollars? Do I still need to fill it out?
Do you need a credit card or enough money on a debit card to put as a refund account?
I have never tried to enter a debit card as the refund option - if there is an ability to enter a debit card though, then you should be fine so long as they can pull the funds as needed. From what I recall you require a credit card but I could be wrong, need to double check
How do you know to look for a upcoming event ahead of time before Ticketmaster post?
I just subscribe to a lot of newsletters to stay informed about new shows. Then I’ll jump over to Ticketmaster after the fact to see when they go on sale
Hi , Thankyou for the information! I still dont know why it doesn’t let me click on the “TIN type “ and it keeps saying that i cant submit the form before i change/click on the tin type!!
Thank U so much !!! This tutorial is soooooo GOOD !!! You definitely solved all my doubts
Glad to hear it!
Can I resell tickets out of US? For example if I had an emergency and I had to travel?
I’m not understanding when it’s having me make 2 deposits under a dollar. It’s not letting me?
Did you ever figure it out. I’m having the exact same probes I missed out on my last sold ticket Recently and I can’t get anything done
And I just sold another one and I haven’t got my deposit or wtv
Do I approve the sale before the tickets get sold?
hello, will the person who buys my ticket pay the ticketmaster fee or should i add that amount to the face value price when selling my ticket?
They will pay their own separate Ticketmaster fees. Just list your tickets at the price you’re most comfortable with for payout and then you won’t need to worry about anything else as the buyer will need to pay any additional fees
@@thumbsuprun perfect thank u!!
@@thumbsuprun I just went ahead and listed them individually. The buyer can group them together if they want lol. Thanks
Good luck! 😁
Thanks for the information! One question-on my listing page it says payment sent to bank account, but I have yet to receive the payment. How long is the process once payment is sent? Thank you
Hello question I got tickets and don't let me click on the sell is it because I didn't get the protection or why?
Hi my ticket for leeds fest there is no sell button and says resale unavailable will that change?
If it hasn’t been activated by the time the general sale has passed, then it is unlikely you’ll see the resale button activate at this point. As long as the transfer button is available though you should be able to resell the tickets on a different marketplace
@@thumbsuprun transfer is unavailable aswell , do you reckon it’ll be available in the future considering the events a year away aswell
So if it gets delayed a year, then your payment will also get delayed :(
How long will it take for the money to be refunded once the ticket sold ?
Hi, So it’s Legal to resale tickets on sites Like TM and stubhub without having a License in the different states?
Some states do require a license such as New York, though it’s only for ‘professional’ resellers who meet the criteria for this label. For the average fan selling a ticket here and there though, you normally don’t need a license but would still need to report the income for tax purposes
Great video I learned a lot !!
I have a question though. What happens if you list your ticket and no one buys it. What happens now ?
If nobody purchases your ticket, you still retain ownership of the seat. So you could use them if you wanted, otherwise if you don’t then they will basically expire worthless
@@thumbsuprun Hello, do you still get charged for the service fee???
What about ticketmasters instant offer? Will my tickets actually sell instantly?
What if you buy a festival ticket that comes with a wristband? Am I supposed to send them the wristband or is the email ticket enough for them?
It depends how the festival allows access. Many times the wristband IS the ticket, no the email confirmation. Ensure you set up the delivery correctly. It’s possible that you need to send both, while other times it may simply just be the wristband OR the mobile ticket. Double check to ensure you don’t run into an issue
Hii! If u bought the tickets in another site different from ticketmaster can u still sell It here? Your vid was very helpful thanks ☺️
@@thumbsuprunbrilliant thanks, bought on ticketmaster and the resell button is there so listed the tickets fingers crossed they sell now
Good luck! Should they sell you’ll have nothing else to do except wait for payment 😁
hello very good video I had a question, I am buying the tickets for harry styles but it tells me that they will only be available in ticketmaster 5 days before the event, that means that I cannot sell them before that??
If you sell a ticket, you’re technically responsible for refunding the buyer of that ticket (but it would just be for the sale price you sold it to them at) and you would get a refund from the person/site you purchased the ticket from
hi! i sold one of my tickets 2 weeks ago. i still haven't received any money on my bank. how long does it usually take to get the payment?
It usually takes about a 5-8 business days for payment to post if you sold them directly through Ticketmaster to your bank, and then your bank may take a few days to process the payment as well. If you try contacting customer support they would be able to tell you what’s going on though. I wouldn’t be too worried yet, they are a little slow at times...
I bought 4 tickets in the same transaction, I wanna sell 2 of those tickets, will I be able to sell just the 2 instead of the 4
I ran into a issue where the concert was rescheduled one year later Sept 2022.
I bought a ticket from a reseller. Am I able to return the ticket back to them? I’m not able to go that day but I want my money back.
If you live in Brazil, my recommendation is to list tickets on a different platform instead of Ticketmaster (try Stubhub or SeatGeek as an example)
hello can you resell platinum tickets on ticketmaster?
Yep! As long as the event is enabled for Ticketmaster resale then you should be able to resell platinum tickets
@@thumbsuprun thank you ❤️
Can I sell tickets that I did NOT buy on Ticketmaster...? I need to sell a parking ticket that I do NOT need anymore. It is not listed in my Ticketmaster events- Because I did not buy it through Ticketmaster
Can I sell a ticket that I bought on ticket master or only tickets I got from the box office?
In the end…If your tickets don’t sell and you have them insured, can you make a claim against them to avoid losing your money?
when do they usually show these buttons?? I can't see them, is it there when it is the month of the event??
Head to your ticket orders and find the specific event you bought. It should be displayed there. If you bought tickets today, it’s possible there will be a delay since Taylor swift has caused a lot of strain on the Ticketmaster servers
hey man so its says that they deposit the money once the event its done and the event its for the next year, what should i do, I guess them changed their policy or something like that.
Yes, they changed their policy during 2020 to pay after event. I’ll need to make an updated version of the video sometime. Just need to keep it in mind if selling tickets on Stubhub
I recently sold tickets from ticketmaster- do you know when we are suppose to get the money?
It’s normally 2 weeks after the event has taken place
@@thumbsuprun are you kidding me ? Why did I have to pay for them first before?
What’s your question exactly? Buyers will always need to pay on purchase, but payouts are held back until events are completed. This change of when payouts are done was made during 2020. If you become a larger seller though, you can qualify for payout on delivery though
@@thumbsuprun so now if I buy tickets for an event that is seven months from right now and then I sell these tickets a week from today I still have to wait six+ months to be paid ?
so if the event is cancelled, i have to refund the buyer money that they paid me and then what happens with me/my own refund? i'm sorry, i got a little lost during this part.
Very valid question! I’m actually making a video on this whole topic this week 😄
Basically though, if you sell tickets to someone through Ticketmaster, you’re responsible for issuing the refund and that amount is charged directly to your credit card that you added to your account.
Ticketmaster will then issue you a refund for your purchase to the same card you used to buy the tickets originally.
It’s a little convoluted but you are still going to get your money back haha. Let me know if it’s still unclear or not
So just so I understand I would refund the buyer and then ticket master would refund me?
Also what about if they buy insurance for there tickets?
What happens when ticketmastwr only makes the tickets available 5 days in advance. Can you only sell them during those days?
Can I sell my tickets if there half payed?? I'm doing monthly payments.....
Is it really hard for your tickets to be sold or will someone most likely buy them?
besides stubhub, what other sites do you like to resell tix? vivid, seatgeaks, axs etc? do you only use one, or do you resell on all of them?
@@thumbsuprun great advice. have you ever scored superbowl tix?
Nope never. Basically need to win the super bowl lottery to get a chance at seats, otherwise face value tickets are a pipedream
Do you think this is a good side hustle
What if I change my mind after listing the tickets?
What if your tickets don't sell! Will you still get paid or just lose the money???
If your tickets don’t sell, you can either use the tickets yourself, or you will simply lose all the money spent on the tickets
Is the new policy to pay the seller 7 or so days after the actual Event takes place?
Yes that’s correct. Most resale marketplaces moved to a pay after delivery schedule during covid and are unlikely to move back to pay on delivery
Question: if I have 3 tickets for sale (seats next to each other) could someone only buy 2 because I do not want that I want all 3 to sell together?
My tickets are automatically sent to the buyer or I have to send them?
For ticketmaster listings that you create and sell through the ticketmaster platform, tickets are set automatically to the buyer. Nothing else for you to do!
Thank you !!! 🙏
Thank homie but what about the seller tax details idk every time I fill it out it says somethings wrong and I don’t know what is wrong ?
Wanna send me a message on twitter or IG @thumbsuprun? We can look into it in detail
@@thumbsuprun thanks I just move to the desktop 🖥 instead of using it on my phone the phone app wasn’t cooperating correctly and wouldn’t let me change things that I didn’t know wasn’t changing
Ah makes sense. Always a good first step!
what if our position is outside USA?
Thank you for uploading a great video. I have a question. How many season tickets are we allowed to sell per season?
I got sold my tickets and I just got an email before getting paid but is it necessary or required to do the form 1099-K? Is that a real thing?
Any update on this?
What happens if your tickets do not sell? Especially if it's so close to the date of the event?
If they don’t sell, unfortunately you will simply lose your money. You could also attend the event or give the tickets away, but otherwise the tickets become worthless
@@thumbsuprun how can you unlisted the tickets?
You can simply delete the listing and that’ll unlist tickets
If the event gets cancelled do you guys refund the money? Cuz I bought transferred tickets and didn’t know and now idk if their gonna refund me
Where did you buy your tickets from? A random individual or from a ticket exchange? If an individual, you’d need to contact them and request your refund as they would be the one responsible for issuing it to you. If you bought it from an exchange, then you will need to contact them to get your refund. In general though, wherever you bought the ticket from is where you’d request your refund
@@thumbsuprun AxS, and then they send it to me from Ticketmaster, I’m trying to contact Ticketmaster support if the girl doesn’t refund
can i change the account Im getting paid on even after my ticket is sold?
You should be able to, assuming the event has not yet been paid out. If you are able to change the account on file, then remove the old one once the new one has been added in. If there is a problem, you may need to contact Ticketmaster directly to ensure it will send payment to the new account
