    I just went to CFmoto’s demo day both Friday and Saturday in Asheville, NC my favorite is this IBEX 800T and my second favorite to ride was the NK650. Very affordable for what it is, even though it’s made in China it’s a great bike for the price point!

    I'm Italian and like you I've being eyeing this bike since it came out! During these past 2 years I've started seeing them parked around, and I'm honestly curious to jump on one and see how it feels. You review was very interesting and thorough, thanks! Also, one of my dreams is flying to the US and driving the country roads that go around the Lake Ozarks!

      I live in the US, and going to Arkansas is also a dream of mine! I live 2000 miles away in the cold Northwest. I was in Arkansas once and it was so beautiful, I was stunned and had to pull over and take pictures of everything, and the people are so warm and loving, it's just an amazing place. Dolores Cannon lived in Arkansas, and created her publishing company called "Ozark Mountain."

    This review is amazing, I'm half way through. Thanks for being so detailed, and having all the specifications memorized! It makes me wonder why some younger riders do a review like this, and no matter how good a particular bike is, they always claim it's too heavy, too top heavy, too powerful, and has bad handling because you can't take huge jumps or drive 89 mph off road very easily. I am so glad to hear the positive remarks about this Ibex having good handling, because I can tell that you're using this motorcycle in a way that 99.899% of riders will also. Contrary to all these sensational reviews on RUclips, nobody buys a new adventure bike to do high speed motocross racing with. Looks, power, wind protection, comfort, and reliability, are in fact more important than the pure dirt handling. Pure dirt handling is last on the list of things you actually need for a daily driven motorcycle on the street.

    7:50! Wow, it really seems from what little I've seen now, that the Ibex did everything right, unlike all the other big name brands who always get the major details totally wrong. The handlebars are actually tall enough on the Ibex, and it appears to have one of the largest and most useful windscreens of any of the ADV bikes out there. It is so exciting to see a practical bike that has all the things people need, and not a bunch of flashy and unnecessary features.

    Nice review! I‘m in Germany and have been following the reviews around the globe. Finally in December, I got mine and confirm all your findings. Didn’t regret the purchase at all.
    Just couldn’t get the CFMoto Ride app running as the app has just been relaunched and the registration needs to be done by a dealer. But since the general importer switched from KSR to Pierer mobility (the owner of KTM) in January, the dealer contracts and with it the access to the CFmoto registry, are in delay.

      Can you post an update? Have you driven the bike much yet? My main concern is reliability. The new TFT screen bikes with all the new electronics makes me really nervous. It seems that the only bike to be having serious problems is the Harley Pan America, which can randomly just shut off the engine while you're driving, or randomly refuse to start.

    I appreciate you mentioning the fueling issues. I got to test ride an 800T here at a Demo event in KC, and noticed those fueling issues right away. • @Ritalie
      @Ritalie Год назад +3

      What is the fueling issue? It sounds like if you switch it to rain mode, it's totally relaxed and easier to ride? The modern bikes appear to be designed to always be run in some type of special mode, so it's kind of a normal thing now to just select the mode you like. The fast throttle response is probably normal on a KTM 790, it's an extremely high performance, high compression engine. My friend had a nearly identical motor, made by Polaris, it was an 80hp 800cc Rotax parallel twin on his 4 wheeler, and when he'd hit the throttle it would instantly wheelie, and that was from the factory. KTM (their motor) isn't messing around, 94 horsepower out of a 790cc parallel twin is the class leading horsepower.

    Looks like you are enjoying your new Ibex 800t. Today I sat on one and looked it over at the local dealer and especially liked the handlebar height. If I remember correctly, you installed ROX handlebar risers on your 2019 V-Strom (same as mine), if not what brand risers did you install. Rox recommends the 1 1/4" risers instead of the 2" so that the brake cable does not need to be replaced with a longer cable. Keep up on your good work with your video's.

The dealer came out with out the door price at close to $15,000! My friend had to do a lot of haggling and eventually got it for $12,300 out the door. Still had to add bags. Bikes built in China are going to have a tougher time becoming accepted here in the USA due to the Geo-Political issue associated with China that were not as prevalent with Japan back in the 60's and 70's but if China can mind its manners for a decade or so I believe bikes built there will become main stream in the west eventually... thanks for watching... keep safe out there... :)@@simpletonballsack

      @@ozarksbackroads5484 Thank you John, and very good point about the perception of China. I very much like your videos (subscribed) and am just about to order one here in Australia. I'll get the top spec Explore and add hard luggage and the 30mm taller seat for total price of AU$18700 which is an absolute bargain compared to the BMW R1250RT I bought 2 years old with 5000km on it for $30k. For this month there's a deal with all the protection items kickstand foot and rally pegs free, value $999.
      Do you have experience with the taller seat? You look tall and I'm 6'3" and about your vintage! The tall seat just looks taller in the mid section because it obviously has to meet the tank and pillion seat properly. That might just flatten it a bit which seems like a good thing. EDIT: Just saw your section on the tall seat.

    Hello there sir, good to hear from you. I cannot say if you should trade your bike for a CFMOTO or not. That is totally up to you and your wants and needs. The V-Strom is a great bike for sure and will most likely last you for many years to come. The V-Strom is a great bike to travel on and I am sure commuting on it is effortless and reliable. The Ibex seems to be a quality bike as far as I can tell and will most likely give me good service for many years as well. The Ibex is not as refined as the V-Strom however, it has a bit of a rough wild side to it with its aggressive and somewhat poor throttle mapping. Until CFMOTO gets the throttle mapping issue resolved with a software update I cannot in good faith recommend this bike to anyone. I would recommend that you might consider waiting until next season to buy the CFMOTO and see if they get that throttle mapping fixed. Thanks for watching and enjoy that V-Strom.... :)

      Which issues does the Norden have? The deal breaker for all the KTM's, is the enormous and enormously ugly fuel tanks. It doesn't matter how good a bike handles, you can't put the fuel tanks around the sides of the engine. The reason we buy motorcycles is because they are cool, and those fuel tanks ruin the whole deal. The very best looking bikes are the Ducati Desert X (not stupid plastic tanks) and the Ibex, the Tenere 700, the Honda Transalp 750 (one of the best looking and sounding bikes) and the Tiger 850 series (most beautiful of all the ADV bikes) and also the Triumph 1200 XC scrambler. Take a look at some of the Triumph models, I've never owned one, but they are absolutely beautiful motorcycles, every model is stunning.

    • @Ritalie
      @Ritalie Год назад +1

      A 90 degree V-Twin is inherently balanced better than a parallel twin, so you're going to get a lot less vibration, also considering the 650 is a smaller engine. That's probably a big advantage of your 650, a bit smoother across all the low RPM ranges. The Suzuki will have an extremely high resale value, so if you decide to sell it 5 years from now, it will be worth double what it is worth now (they are the most popular motorcycle now, along with the GS1250 BMW) especially since FortNine motorcycle channel put them on the map with his "Best used motorcycles" video and the new ADV bike craze. I really want to get an Ibex, but if I get one, I'm going to plan on keeping it, because the name isn't well known, so reselling it is going to be tough.

    You nailed it on the vibes. I noticed that right off. Just keep it above 4k rpm when i can. I am almost ready for my first oil change. I cant seem to get off this bike. I love it. I noticed your service light is still on. I saw a video where you go to the screen where it shows your service interviles and hold set and the up arrow for 20 seconds and its resets that. I will know soon because im about 40 miles out from changing mine. Does yours lurch back and forth from like 3600 to 3800 rpm? Other then that i love it. Where did you get your updated software from?

      Hello there sir, glad to hear you are enjoying your bike. I will try to reset my service interval light. I knew there must be a way to reset it. You can update the firmware on the bike using the CFMOTO Ride App. get it at the Google Play Store or the Apple store. Select the OTA tab on the main screen to see if an update is available. The dealer network for CFMOTO is pretty good here in the USA. I have several dealers within 100 miles of the world headquarters. CFMOTO has a large parts warehouse in Kansas City Missouri which is just a few hours up the road from the world headquarters here. I have been able to get accessories through my dealer in a couple of weeks here. I have also found after market parts available for the 800MT which is the same bike sold in other places. Hello there sir, good to hear from you. Yes I got that message one time when I was out in Moab Utah a few weeks ago. Mine stayed on the screen for about a minute before it went away. From what I have been able to find on the matter it seems to be an issue with the CAN Buss software on the KTM 790/890 and this Ibex. The ECU looses communication with a component that is communicating on the Buss momentarily. It sounds as though this will be an issue that will need to be addressed with a software update from CFMOTO. I have not seen any reports of anyone being stranded or a bike being left incapacitated. It seems to clear up on its own within a minute or two. Hopefully we will get an update soon... thanks for watching... keep safe out there... :)

The T model had the tubeless spoked wheels that leak air so sticking with the cast alloy rims on the S model will save you some headaches... Do understand though that the fueling on these bikes is not very good. There will be lean surging and a very aggressive throttle. The KLR is a great basic bike... single cylinder thumper that tractors along really well but it is not an adventure touring bike. Long distance travel on the KLR is very laborious and the bike has no creature comforts that make long days in the saddle more tolerable. The single cylinder engine is not suited to long rides and will consume oil when ridden at highway speeds for long stents. The KLR is very good at what it is designed to do but I am afraid that adventure touring is not its strong suit. Thanks for watching and keep safe out there... :)

    Do you have any issues with wind buffeting? Also, do you feel that the bike runs hot or causes you to become uncomfortable from the heat of the motor/exhaust of the radiator? I just picked up my IBEX 800T today and the wind buffeting for me is rather loud at 60+ MPH. It could be that my helmet is not well enough made and is making it louder than it would be if I were wearing on that was slightly better designed and or made. I also noticed that when you're sitting stopped or going at slower speeds the heat off put from the motor is noticeable and slightly uncomfortable.
