- I love a nice relaxing curly hair self-care day. The products don't matter so much, just find what works for you. Me, I love to experiment with different combinations of products each time. I still haven't encountered my perfect curly hair routine, but it's fun discovering it.

This is a really great tutorial. One of the most thorough. I'm a visual learner and this helps tremendously.
I'm just getting my wavy hair back from years of fighting frizz, not knowing that I actually have waves(2b - 2c)
My hairdresser listened and cut in layers to lighten the weight and he was shocked to see the waves show up.
Question: what does it mean "to break the cast"?
The cast is the hardness the hair gets when a strong hold gel or mousse is dried on the hair. It lets the curls dry in the proper shape. The you break the coating (cast), literally, and the curls are freed from the hard coating, are soft, but retain their shape better without frizz.
