thank you! i really hated my hair and used to straighten it and no routine worked for me, but this seems the easiest and most straightforward one. Imma try it and update w results ❤️❤️
This is the BEST routine for 2b waves I've ever tried and has taken so much stress and time out of wash days. I think it's the only tutorial I've found that really is about going with natural WAVES, rather than doing wavy hair with curly methods of which for me, caused too much shrinkage and stringiness. Thank you Ali! X
My second baby is 7 months old, I’m 37. I always had long wavy hair. But I noticed as I got older it was getting wavier. Especially after these babies. Especially when it’s wet. I had a big chop day before yesterday. My hair went from my waist to just below my shoulder. Washed my hair last night, slept on it and woke up with curly hair. I have no idea what to do. 😂 I tried to brush it and ended up looking like a lion. Just in time for a birthday party. lol. So thanks for this. Ordered a diffuser, that brush and some products and I’ll give this a go once I get them.
I've probably done dozens of hair routines since going on this journey in 2013 and this is BY FAR the best yet. I didn't even have the Bounce curl define brush I used a wide toothed come and my hair results are exactly like yours! Thank you so much! So happy to have found a 2b-3a hair sister with an epic routine!
Your curls are absolutely beautiful! I will try this routine on my own hair, I have fine/wavy curly hair and trying to find a routine that works for me, I aim to have curls like you one day!
My goodness it’s SO much work! Wearing curly hair is a chore! I just don’t have the time or patience. It’s so much easier to flatiron and run a curling iron through. It’s beautiful thoug!
This is the best tutorial I've seen so far! I've been trying to understand my natural curl patter for the past year and boy has it been a journey! Love all your tips and techniques, thank you!!
Totally unrelated but the way you explain the process - I can tell that, in addition to having gorgeous hair, you are also so smart and articulate! ❤ Just wanted to share some positivity! Great video!
Thank you, Ali! What a great video, excellent tips and tricks, and you do an incredible job explaining yourself in a succinct and professional way so we all understand and remember your tips. And you gave us discount codes … thank you! You suggest that we don’t need to use/buy what you use, but I do. :). Finishing up my drying using this entire method, and my curls have never looked better. Love you and your AMAZING hair
Your hair (and you!) is just absolutely beautiful. I took my time with washing today and used your techniques and also tried a new method. Hair came out so much less frizzy and looking so moisturized! Also more definition at the back. Thanks for this video!
Ali - will you please do a video about the “transformation” process? How long does it take? What are your recommendations? Does straightening my hair a couple times a month cause me to start the process over? How can I get my ends to look moisturized and not dry? (I have my ends trimmed about 1/2 inch every 12 weeks.). Please!?
Geez girl, your hair is the most gorgeous thing I've seen this week!😍 I just recently realized that the reason my frizzy hair doesn't want to behave even though I dry it straight and use conditioning products is because it isn't straight! It's nowhere near as wavy/curly as yours but it's definitely wavy! Ever since I accepted this I've been trying to learn how to style it but boy is it difficult🤣 It's also fine and I don't have a lot of it so for me the most challenging and annoying part is getting wave clumps to form. The result IS wavy but it's kinda uneven, all over the place and I end up looking like a swamp witch LMAO I'll try this method the next time🥰
I totally agree because mine is the same I only realised when my hair dresser said I've got naturally wavy curly hair which explains alot because when I dry it it's like a frizz ball 😂 I need hair like hers 😍 so beautiful ❤
I can't thank you enough. I have never liked my hair. It's always been super fine and frizzy and always so stringy. NOT ANYMORE!!! I watched your video a few times and just copied your routine with the products I have and voila!!! Now I have big beautiful curls. Thank you again!❤❤
I have just realized that I have curly hair at the age of 30 lol, I am not learning how to take care of it and your video by far is my favorite, most clear onen thank you
Beautiful! I have hair like yours although I am much older than you. I cannot be bothered with such a long process but wow the outcome is stunning on you!!! I keep my routine super simple and embrace the frizz, LOL!! Also I live in such a humid state that it's almost inevitable not to get frizzy round here, LOL!!! Thanks for sharing
Yes, same here! I have found that coconut oil..just a dab works well for the high humidity days and when I don't want to go thru all these steps. Plus i work outside all summer getting sweaty and dirty. No time and a waste to do all those steps.
@JanetElevating depending on long your hair is, you have to experiment on how much. I use about a tsp on my shoulder length hair. I use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, rinse, towel dry it, comb it out. I put the coconut oil in my hand and rub it all over my palms and back of my hands until it's no longer a solid. The I run my oily hands all thru my hair as if I was combing it, top layers and underneath. Then I comb it again to get in all the way to ends and style it the way I want to lay. I let it air dry. After it's dry, I smooth out my bangs with a flat iron because I don't like them so tightly curly.
you and your hair are STUNNUNG. this is an amazingly helpful tutorial! thank you so much for taking the time to show and explain it to us. double thanks for recommending products that you genuinely love and aren’t just trying to advertise. I tried your wash routine today using products I already have, and it’s a game changer! I definitely can’t wait to see how my curls look once I can get my hands on some of your recommended products 😊
Now I know how to create the look I saw on a Pinterest photo. It was this style, but the model's hair was white and just my tone. Thanks for sharing how you do it. Your hair is beautiful!
Omg I love your hair!! Q: I’m from the UK and have been trying to find some good wavy hair products that are available here- do you have any recommendations? Plus I’ve only just started on my hair journey so the cheaper- the better! Thanks 💛
yeah, idk what to to. my hair simply wont get curls but on the other side it doesn't look good when i simply just dry it. It's so frizzy. How long is it take to get this curls?
Your hair is beautiful! My hair is straight as a board but I am watching this video because my almost 4 year old has curly hair and I want to learn how to help her curls live their best life! Any quick tips for a toddlers hair? 😅
You have helped me so much! I’m almost at a year of my curl journey and I love your step by steps! I was wondering if you did any treatments on your hair while it was still damaged? Did you do any treatments that required a heat cap?
So pretty. I will definitely try this. I am hesitant though to brush through or separate the clumps or even diffuse because every time I do, my curls and waves look so stringy and I hate it. Still trying to find the magical combination of product and technique. 😭 the very bottom layer of my hair is definitely type 3 and then as you go more towards the surface it is struggling to barely be type 2 lol ugh it sucks. Hoping it gets better because I have been at this “journey” for over four months now and I am getting super frustrated. Just saying I hope I figure it out like you have 🙂 Thank you for sharing your tips. I dont know why no one teaches us this stuff growing up (I was just told that I had frizzy hair and had to deal with it. Had no idea I had wavy and curly hair until recently.) 😅
Hi Ali Thanks for your lovely video! I watch it just before every time I wash my hair until I get the routine settled in myself, At the moment I have a lot of trouble defusing. I was wondering if you can put the video out for defusing, instead of 50 times faster, maybe just 5 times faster? Just love your pretty face and gorgeous hair!
Question: Do you wash/dry your microfiber towels using fabric softener and drying sheets? I ask because I've been told synthetic materials (especially polyester) actually get gunked up with these products leading to low water absorbtion losing their intended benefits when they're dry (polyester also starts to smell). I was told to wash with detergent, the RIGHT amount, and no dry sheets but if they build up static use the wool balls.
Hello I just came across your video today. As per many other comments, your hair is GORGEOUS!!!! What type wave do you have? Also, my hair is fine and I think 2B waves. How many rows of teeth do you suggest i have in my denman brush? Thank You!!!
Hi I just subscribed to you I love your hair! I honestly wish my hair in the back. We're not get so frizzy but because of my mobility problems with my hands, I struggle too distribute product in the back of my hair 😢❤
Welcome back Ali! Always nice to see you, and beautiful as always. Thanks for all the work you put into your videos. It’s interesting to me that you finish with the foam. I have always heard to finish with your strongest holding product, which is typically gel. Do you find that finishing with a foam extends your wash day? Curious how your curls holds up through the week. Thank you!
Thank you!💛 Glad to be back! Yes it does help me extend washdays, but it’s more about maintaining my clumps while drying. As mentioned, I do it as a bit of insurance to help my curl clumps come back together and stay together during diffusing. It creates some wetness with a bit of hold.
i learned a lot ty! i would prob suggest doin the back section of ur hair first rather than the reverese, so u dont have to use ur arm as a divider etc.
I did this routine today from memory- accidentally trying to do the back section first, and I can confirm that it doesn’t work out lol Once you’re finished with the back section, it’s impossible to keep it from falling in the way of the front section without clipping it up somehow, but you can’t do that without ruining the curl clumps and patterns you just worked to create. No matter how hard I tried to keep it laying down my back, it just kept falling forward and mixing in with the front pieces.
What do you recommend for those that work in a Warehouse and have to keep their hair up all the time? I am wanting more definition in my curls and for my curls to come alive but my hair tangles so badly and I have to keep it pulled up due to my job. I am at a loss. 🤦🏼♀️
So I tried this today and in total it took me about 1h. Scrunch and scrunching repeatedly but as soon as I pull my fingers through the curls disappear and then I just scrunch again. However the products matter as I used some cheap product for curly in spray form. I will try again with a gel.
hi!! i love how my hair turns out when i follow this full process but in the summer when it’s hot and when im low on time i need to do the air dry route. do you have any tips for air dry? would you ever consider making an air dry tutorial video?
My hair is naturally curly and I’m just now finding out about this. The length of it is a little bit past my shoulders and I’m unsure if I’ll get the same results. Anyone got any advice for me? 🤔
I absolutely LOVE your hair! Quick question. I know you did a quick spray of the Pantene while your hair was still damp (which I love). Do you ever put any product on your dry hair after it’s all done styling (besides the oil?). Hair spray or anything like that? Thanks! ❤
Welcome back Ali! Question: do you know if styling curls with a round brush like you would with a Denman brush or your Bounce Curl brush would be effective? I haven't seen a ton on it but would like to know your thoughts. Thanks in advance!
I have a question...first, your hair is literally dream hair and you and your hair are just stunningly beautiful!!! when you scrunch your hair... are you coiling the hair up into your hands as you scrunch? I absolutely have grown so much with following your advice, and adjusting it to my own hairs' needs ..but, I tend to end up with terrible wet frizz and flat lifeless results, even while adding more water, and trying more smoothing products, and taking better care, letting it dry, removing the sulfates except if im clarifying, and using 3 different brushes and several techniques.. Once in a blue moon i get results exactly like yours, the big beautiful Barrel curls and waves... I'm wondering if it's maybe my scrunching technique... it's lacking lately...I know that sounds ridiculous but I've been on my journey for almost 2 years and I'm so close to having my hair style how I want it. I accept my curl pattern, and I can get really nice fat juicy curls but I always end up with the hair falling apart after I start scrunching and moving my head slowly from side to side, etc (while im in the wet scrunching phase). It basically falls apart as if I havent scrunched it at all, and adding more water seems to weigh it down. So is there a specific way you are scrunching it to keep the clumps tighter? 😂I know it sounds so silly. I just figured I'd ask! ❤ I may be over scrunching. I just don't know.
Question- I love your video and your steps have really helped. One thing I am noticing is the curls look great but after about two to three hours (after dry) the curls start to fall a bit. Suggestion?
Your hair is so beautiful!! A question I go to gym and my hair gets really oily and greesy I do not want to wash my hair everyday because my hair is also really dry, any suggestions?
Showing the video without cutting out the parts where your move you wet hair from upside down to getting it behind you and side to side would be helpful to see. Also my hair never waved at my roots. Love you pattern. My latter is more like mermaid waves I guess 2a-2b and doesn’t seem to get wavy until half way down my head closer to my ears. I get clumps but never seem to get a cast even with hard hold gels like Harry’s gel. I use a denman brush and give my waves a shake. I micro plop and all the thing but drying is still closer to 40ish min. My hair is to my elbows in length. I typically pixie diffuse. Makes me wonder if it’s m blow dryer (I have a sedu with a black orchid) or if it’s just my lengths. Also maybe I don’t get a cast due to diffusing? If I air dry my waves fall extremely flat! My waves only last 2-3 days max and I have to brush my hair and wear it straight from then til next wash day. Happy to you see back to making content cause your hair is GOALS!
Sounds like our hair is similar. My waves also only start at my ears. I've never been able to get it to wave further up. I prefer to use a foam mousse and then a strong hold gel. My favorite is the Biosilk Rock Hard Gelee. It always gives me a cast even after diffusing. I also use the Black Orchid diffuser.
I can't do any of this upside down - when I flip my hair over and stand back up it just looks like an unholy mess. Same with plopping. Basically, if my hair is wet and going in the wrong direction even for a short while it's game over.
Same thing here. In my case I think it's because my roots are naturally straighter and I have been parting my hair the same way for ages. I hate upsidedown styling but I flip more gently to make sure the hair doesn't stick to the scalp. Once dry, using some texturizing powder/spray on the roots really help to add the extra volume that you missed for not doing the upsidedown styling... hope this helps 😊
Hello! This is a somewhat awkward question, as I naturally was born with straight-semi wavy hair. I am not a fan of my hair at all, and i would like curls (like your beautiful hair!). Though, i have no idea what to do, get, or how do naturally get curls like yours.
I just discovered your channel. Thanks for all this awesome advice. I’ve always had wavy hair but have always straightened it. I really wanna try this method but first I need a hair cut. Do you have any advice about haircuts to help reveal the curls. Are layers good, is there a type of haircut you ask for other than a curly cut? I have long fine dense hair and would love some advice about cuts as in the past I got blunt cuts and stayed away from layers to make it appear more voluminous as layers make it look ratty. I’ve never embraced my curls until now!
Welcome!! Yes, layers work great for me. I ask to maintain my length and add lots of layers for volume and bounce. My shortest layer now starts just below my chin.
I'm going to shop your Amazon links immediately! But I have a question. On one of your Instagram videos you mentioned Irish sea moss gel. Would you use this instead of the foam? Or as an additional step? If it's an additional step, is it before or after the foam? Thank you!
Hi Ali, I'm new to your channel and wanted to say that you have the most gorgeous hair, on top of being just beautiful! I was also wondering if you get a dry, curly cut or a regular wet cut? What do you ask your stylist for? My hair is shorter (right above my bra strap) but it looks to be a similar curl pattern and density (although i struggle to get defined curls) 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️. Thank you so much for sharing all this great info!
I’m sorry, for which brand are you try to purchase? I’m not aware of a code not working based on location. I know for Bounce Curl, codes don’t work on bundles and it *might* not work for their brush.
Hi Ali, was wondering if you use all your techniques and similar products or the same products but not dry your hair , would the girls still hold. Ley it air dry
thank you! i really hated my hair and used to straighten it and no routine worked for me, but this seems the easiest and most straightforward one. Imma try it and update w results ❤️❤️
did it worked?
The waters gotta be cold by now it’s time to get out of the shower
This is the BEST routine for 2b waves I've ever tried and has taken so much stress and time out of wash days. Get it really really wet! Then add product then diffuse.
It’s been an amazing thing for me to find these videos
I've probably done dozens of hair routines since going on this journey in 2013 and this is BY FAR the best yet. Your hair is gorgeous!! ❤ Im still have n my journey of getting my curls back... Long journey! Love this video! Wil be trying thier products!
Thank you so much! I had the best washday since I started my journey in July 2023. So happy❤
This is the best tutorial I've seen so far! I've been trying to understand my natural curl patter for the past year and boy has it been a journey! Love all your tips and techniques, thank you!!

Its comments like this that remind me why I create content. Thank you so much for sharing 💛

How nice to see a wavy routine with long hair!
Hair goals! your hair is so beautiful 😍 💗
I can't thank you enough. I have never liked my hair. It's always been super fine and frizzy and always so stringy. NOT ANYMORE!!! I watched your video a few times and just copied your routine with the products I have and voila!!! Now I have big beautiful curls. Thank you again!❤❤
New subscriber here....super helpful vid bc I have long, layered, curly hair and most channels feature much shorter hair. TYSM for all these tips!
I have just realized that I have curly hair at the age of 30 lol, I am not learning how to take care of it and your video by far is my favorite, most clear onen thank you

I love finger curling technique! Thanks for your videos and tips! I am now a happy curly haired girl ❤
Your hair is so pretty.. this is the texture I want ..well u know the saying.. we have to work with what we have😊😊
If you have thin hair and thin density, I really really recommend small curl, or in her case, wave, clumps. Also, not all alcohol is drying...
Your hair is beautiful thank you for sharing! I just hope my hair looks the same after trying this 😊

I’m so glad to hear! Thank you 💛
If there’s a few clumps of curls that are not cooperating, how do we fix just that section without messing up the whole thing?
Great tutorial! I just ordered that same blow dryer, I can't wait to use it.
Gorgeous! You make it look fairly simple. But we know it takes work. Love your videos. Thanks for sharing your techniques and hacks.
What if we don't have a diffuser?
So...what happens after you sleep on it? I don't wash my hair every day.
Sleep in a bonnet to help keep your curl!
Your hair is beautiful! My hair is straight as a board but I am watching this video because my almost 4 year old has curly hair and I want to learn how to help her curls live their best life! Any quick tips for a toddlers hair? 😅

Question: I love the Swift dryer, but this color isn’t available on the website. Where can I find it?
Can you, please, provide a list of the products you used?
They're listed in the caption along with direct links to each product 💛
how do you get the parting that u want in ur hair?
THIS! @WavyCurlyAli
hi!! i love how my hair turns out when i follow this full process but in the summer when it’s hot and when im low on time i need to do the air dry route. do you have any tips for air dry? would you ever consider making an air dry tutorial video?

Great video and beautiful waves/ curls😍
Thank you!! 💛💛
Do you have the link for your plopping towel?
Hi! I’m new to embracing my curl 😊 if I was to invest in one or two products which one do you recommend I go with first?
Question- I love your video and your steps have really helped. One thing I am noticing is the curls look great but after about two to three hours (after dry) the curls start to fall a bit. Suggestion?
Gorgeous curls
Thank you!!💛
Your hair is so beautiful!! A question I go to gym and my hair gets really oily and greesy I do not want to wash my hair everyday because my hair is also really dry, any suggestions?
Try dry shampoo
Can you try some hairstyles on your curly hair? That would really help 💞
Can I let it dry on its own. Will it have the same results.
Or they will all the curls stick together
Love your hair! I did want to ask in what part of the styling do you decide to part your hair? I never know when
Thank you! If I’m upright styling, I part my hair while wet. If upside down styling, I part it once it’s dry.💛
@@WavyCurlyAli Thank you for replying and for sharing your curly hair journey!
Can you please mention all of these products with the link please.
They’re all listed and linked in the caption 💛
How many days does this last? Do you get mattes in your hair and how do you deal with those? How do you refresh this on day 2?
Love your tutorial! Is it just water you’re spraying at first or a product to enhance the curls? Thanks 🙏
Thank you!! Can you tell me the time in the video you see that and I can tell you? Sorry I’m not sure which step you’re referring to 💛
Post more helpful videos! Love love your hair!
Hello! This is a somewhat awkward question, as I naturally was born with straight-semi wavy hair. I am not a fan of my hair at all, and i would like curls (like your beautiful hair!). Though, i have no idea what to do, get, or how do naturally get curls like yours.
Can you let it dry in the microfiber towel? I hate blow drying my hair.
What do you do in between wash days?
How often do you trim/cut your hair?
@@WavyCurlyAli thank you so much for your answer! I’m going to give layers a go at my next cut. Ps; your hair is gorgeous. Thanks for the inspiration!
Far out, this is stunning!!! ❤I
I'm going to shop your Amazon links immediately! But I have a question. On one of your Instagram videos you mentioned Irish sea moss gel. Would you use this instead of the foam? Or as an additional step? If it's an additional step, is it before or after the foam? Thank you!
Do you do any touchups with a styling tool before you show the final product
No ma’am, but if you want to touch it up go for it 💛
Beautyful!
Thank you so much! I have a short video on my RUclips page that goes over my haircut. Give that a look and let me know if that helps 💛
How do you sleep on this?
I have fine hair, and curly/wavy curls. But my scalp is oily. Am I suppose to use shampoo for oily scalp or curly hair? 🤔
I think you should use a shampoo that helps your oily scalp, like something clarifying and light shampoo
@@gabrielacluciuniuc3451 Thank you so much 😊
Super beautiful 😍 wow.. amazing.
Hi! I am your new sub
And did you lose a lot of hair when you do this routine
Cuz I did and now so scared to take care of my wavy hair again❤
Do you have a link for your claw clip?
That’s from LUS Brands! You can find it on their website 💛 I got the 3-pack.
hi Ali, nice video tutorial 💛 question: the Bounce Curl brush it better than the Denman brush for styling? asking for a friend 😁
I prefer the bounce curl brush to the denman (I simply reach for it more), but the denman still does a beautiful job for styling! 💛
@@WavyCurlyAli thank you Ali ( wb.. btw 😊)
Do you have layers in your beautiful hair?
First time here.. ls your hair highlighted?🤍🤍🤍
Hi! Welcome 💛 yes, I get highlights once a year.
@WavyCurlyAli Beutiful! Do you do a full head of highlights and low lights?
The code doesn't work for Canada, is that correct
Which code?
@WavyCurlyAli the discount code I think it is because I am in Canada
I’m sorry, for which brand are you try to purchase? I’m not aware of a code not working based on location. I know for Bounce Curl, codes don’t work on bundles and it *might* not work for their brush.
Wow. It'd beautiful...but...DO you do this EVERY day?
Thank you! No, 1-2x a week
I need a video on your haircut
I have one uploaded on my channel!💛
Hi Ali, was wondering if you use all your techniques and similar products or the same products but not dry your hair , would the girls still hold. Ley it air dry
She said you can air dry in her disclaimer around 0:45-0:48.
Yes they’ll still hold! I just don’t get as much bounce and volume from air drying 💛
@@vegronica9006 ok thankyou l did miss that.
@@WavyCurlyAli thankyou
Whats your hair routine do you wash your hair once a week and if so for the rest of the days do you just wash your hair with water?
Is your hair low porosity?
