Many Hunter controllers have this functionality built it. You set your total run time (20 minutes) and then program in the max incremental runtime (7 minutes) followed by the soak time (1 hour).
One thing he touched on but did not elaborate was how often is too long between waterings. He mentioned that the soil can dry out, but failed to mention about how long that might take.

What provisions are there for Springs Utilities to communicate this message to the PTB (powers that be)? I live in the Cobblestone townhouses on Star Ranch Road. There is a sprinkler system here over which individual owners have no control. The sprinklers come on 2-3 times a week and run for 20 minutes or so, with much of the water running off down the street. Cycle-and-soak is a great idea and I'm sure it's one the management company would love to hear about. I plan to forward it to them, as they manage other properties too. For this idea to be effective, someone with Springs Utilities should follow up with them to make sure the plan is implemented.

You're correct, of course -- you can't mandate changes but you can expose management companies to the recommended suggestions and leave the rest up to homeowners. We want to help but townhouse watering schedules fall into the "out of sight, out of mind" category.

I was just wondering about Bush's shrubs and trees Do you have the water them normally or is it beneficial to use this as well for that. I thought it would be beneficial for both the grass and that. Somebody told my mom that it's not the case. I would think it would be better in the long run because that way you have that deep Roots like you do the lawn

I have a Rachio controller. How to set up this system and know how long each water cycle will run before the next cycle will run???
