I'm in Vermont. Question - where can I buy the Lesco Team Mates Plus Grass Seed blend for our area. The only one I found online was Royalton Supply out of Ohio. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Bill
As a German I always watch jealously how much space you have in the USA. Where I live property prices have risen to a level that most people can't even afford 500m² for a house and a small garden.
I have enjoyed watching your videos over the years and have followed your advice. My lawn is similar in size to yours so I appreciate how much work goes into getting the results you have achieved. I’m getting ready to overseed portions of my lawn and would appreciate a link in the description with exact details on the grass seed you used. Thank you!
Silver Cymbal, Extremely encouraging! Would you be kind enough to share some updates with current summer photos of this project lawn area? How is that special seed hold up in the summer!
This is an unbelievably cool process. We use TruGreen company to take care of our lawn, but they do not do a good job. They always miss some parts of the yard and we have areas full of weeds. The advice you posted on this video is great. I guess i will use them to improve our lawn. I guess it is time to get some Tenacity Herbicide .
We have HARD well water that pretty much kills anything you water with it. Getting grass established anytime we have to do digging is an uphill battle. Looking forward to trying this method.
This is a great video. Thanks for taking the time to produce such helpful instructive content. I watched your more detailed video on weeds using Tenacity and it convinced me to buy the products and try it. I just applied it to the first area (front lawn) yesterday. But today it’s raining - about 15hrs after application. I’m wondering if the rain will wash Tenacity away preventing it from working.
Thank you very much. You wont have any issues with that. It really only need to dry and they say around 4 hours. You should be well away from any problems with that timing.
No trickery here. You can see plenty of other pictures on my Instagram at different days/times instagram.com/silvercymbal/ I will be sharing new pictures this weekend and updates through this season too with videos to see more.
Love it. Did you consider adding a top dressing prior to seeding? In my opinion aerating is the key and you literally nailed it. Awesome and thank you for the tips on humichar
This looks awesome. I am a new home owner so I am trying to figure out how to grow my lawn. I live in a mobile home community, but I have a good size yard. Alot of it barely has grass, dead areas and dirt. I put down some Weed and Feed about a month ago and now I am trying to find out how to get the grass growing. This helps. I do not have all that equipment and I live in Orlando, so I would like some ideas as to what would work for me if you have any suggestions.
Thank you. Fortunately everything I showed can all be done without heavy tools. I would use a hard tined rake instead of the aerator and even a rgular rake can help loosen the soil. You can use tenacity and a pump sprayer to kill of the weeds, reseed with teammates from your local site one and you will be starting off on a good foot.
Lots of water is important in the first 60-90 days for new seedlings. A lot of people don't water enough and think it's doing well and stop watering....only to eventually die. Good luck, congrats on the new place! 👍
I watched the video on tenacity and then this one. I was wondering if i can use weed killer and aerate and lay seed / fertilizer the same day or do I need to wait a week or two to lay seed after using the weed killer?
Great video How did it hold up to the heat in the summer and the cold in the winter does it go dormant in the winter time and does it stay green in the summer? The yard really looks good. Thanks
Does Lesco have a warm-season or transition mix of grass seed? I live in North Carolina and am worried the Team Mates mix may not be suitable for the summers here.
It's still early here at the moment but temps are warming up this week. I will have full pics on instagram and a follow up video within a month. But what I see right now looks very good. It over wintered very well.
Excellent video and excellent results. Question: what temperature zone did you do this in? I wonder if those seeds and that process would work in Florida?
Thank you kindly. I would visit your local Siteone and see what they think. I am told Lesco Team mates plus is blended differently for each region so that it will work well but they can tell you for sure. In FL I would attempt this only in your coolest season to give it the most time to establish. The seed is a huge part of it and the dealer can help you get the right one but the rest of the video should still provide a good guide. Best wishes to you on your project and thanks for watching.
Do you have an update on how it looks after the heat of summer? I looked at your Instagram and saw the one you posted in early Aug. How does it look now?
Sure, its been a horrible summer for us to, very little rain and all and all it's still looks amazingly good. Not perfect. Watch for some new pics shortly.

Was wondering that myself - tricky to find the label online for that ...so thanks for posting that link. The SiteOne here in NH has Teammates Plus as 70% Tall Fescue, 20% Perennial Rye 10% KBG (but no cultivars listed) so in-line with what you had. Wonder if a fine fescue mix would’ve worked in that area also, there is no-mow varieties and from my understanding take very little input to thrive, and are some of the most shade tolerant grasses I know of.
Site one puts just about nothing online which I didn't understand. However, when you visit there stores it was an awesome exeperience. I have been to 4 of their locations in diferent states when I travel (who doesnt shop for lawn care products when they travel :) But they were all so great to work with and they knew I was just a homeowner and treated me very well and had great advice. I would reccomend visiting one of theire stores and I hope you have the same good experience with them. They know there stuff very well.
Keep in mind that is very competitive and it’s all top quality seed. 50# is for a big area. They sell smaller bags also but if you need seed this can’t be beat for quality.
I think having the right type of grass seed can help immensely! Highway crews plant seed along county roads all the time and somehow that grass always takes. I'm going to be aerating later this year. Just did some de-thatching last weekend. Oh by the way I took the advice of another youtuber and decided to document my lawn progress this year too, so I created my first ever youtube video and first upload! I don't mean to be self promoting, but I'd be greatful if you check it out and let me know your thoughts on my flow and content. I'm a total editing noob yet all I have for video is a Galaxy S8 lol. But it seems to make halfway decent video at least! Thanks again for all the content you share! ruclips.net/video/EbEnOG_Cytk/видео.html
That's such a great point about the seed type being so important. Grass grows everywhere and can really work with the right combination. I will check your video out and think that's a great idea for sharing and that's what YT is all about. Thanks for watching.
The title seems to me to disingenuous. I live in Colorado. This won’t work here. It’s a semi-arid desert. My suggestion is to put in the title where this technique will work. For example, this might work where someone receives 24” of precipitation per year. It appears that you would get more views if you didn’t make it clear that it won’t work in many areas but that feels irresponsible to me.
Sorry your comment is the only thing that is not accurate. This video is 100% true I make no money whatsoever from Lesco or Site one. They just have good products.

That was awesome

Morning dew is good amount of water in the fall.
What kind of grass is that? I know you said a mix but what types. Also what state are you in?
If you check out my instagram I have a pic of the label with all the varieties. I am in Massachusetts. They blend this for the region you are in.
Great work. What is lime and what it does and I believe that grass seed type tolerets water/rain more often or not?
Awesome video, man! how long should you wait to apply the grass seed after tenacity?
3 weeks is ideal but you can do it in as short as 1 day, tenacity doesn't affect the seed i just like to give them a little time to wither away.
What does it look like now? All your pictures were from last year.

Why didn't you cut the grass before hand?....it was pretty long in the vid.
It was new seed and I wanted to let it grow for at least 4 weeks before it was cut to let it establish well.
So on your first mow you bagged and cut short? You basically robbed it of nutrients by bagging, and gave it even harder time by cutting so short. Why?
