These upcycle videos are some of my favorite!!! You make videos and share information in a way that is genuine and easy. You do not do any of that stuff that makes me cringe and you remind me of the saying... "you gotta sing like you don't need the money". I do not judge the cringe stuff but it is not easy to watch the way your videos are and I didn't know if you knew how you come across. I would love to see you thrift at a store and hear your comments even if you do not buy the item. Thank you for putting such wonderful stuff out in the world. I am currently trying to encourage my oldest daughter to follow your example and make a business out of it.
I love the idea of using old jeans and denim scraps to make these! These would make great teachers gifts to hold pencils! The flowers are so amazing , they would look great on flannel shirts, or crocheted hats.I use the same buttons on my crochet hats. Love your creativity. Thanks for sharing with us!
Hi Julia thank you for another fabulous tutorial. It is funny but when I was younger I never liked denim and would never wear it. Now I am older I can’t get enough of it and just love wearing my denim dresses. I really love these brooches and containers. Fabric boxes and bags are my stash busters every time. Your tutorial has given me the push to make some more. Hope you and your family are all well and haven’t had any horrible weather. In my part of the U.K. it has been particularly cold and icy with a fair lashing of snow so I am looking forward to the spring. Sending you hugs and loves as always xxxxxxx Dorothy 🙋🏻😘❤️🌟⛄️
Hi Dorothy, This was a simple tutorial but what do you do with a stack of pants legs! LOL I have such a hard time throwing things away. My husband and I are still in Florida for a few more weeks. I love the warm weather here. It is below zero back home and very snowy. ugh! Have a great week and stay warm! Julia
Great creative ideas to use up old denim, you could also use contrasting fabric to line the pouches and then you could see this fabric when you turn down the top of the pouch. Keep doing these types of videos, I luv them.😀💐
Hi Julia - Such fun flowers to add to anything. Love them. Love the little container covers too! You come up with the cutest things. Hope you are doing well and enjoying the sunshine. Beach tour please!!!! 🌸🧵🌞🏝🏖⛵️💙💛
Hi Pam, Went the the beach this morning and filmed it! I hope to get a video up soon. It's so beautiful here- I'm getting spoiled! Take care and have a creative week! Julia
Pity we don't live nearer because I ONLY use the legs (cut into strips & made into rag rugs hooked through hessian - they wear so well)! Love your ongoing creativity :)
HI Vicki, So glad you liked the jean flowers. I have been using them on lapels, hats, bags, etc. They're quite shabby looking but I that look. Enjoy the buttons:)
I ordered the button card die too. It's discontinued but found an online store that still had some. If I go broke from these projects, I'll have to quit watching you. Lol...😜
Clever as usual Julia !! I can picture these in canvas and burlap. Your containers look very much like the Panera soup containers that I buy at Sam's Club. I use them to hold all kinds of goodies...pens, brushes and sewing tools. I went to Amazon to look up the price of the Big Shot you use. There was one just like yours (black & pink) that people were bidding on with a starting price of $249 ! I know you've had yours for a while and apparently there are those out there that appreciate the value of it. I'm eventually going to pick up my own Big Shot to use like you do. I'm in no big hurry, however. I don't want it sitting on a shelf, next to my wax melter used in needle felting that I just HAD TO HAVE. LOL
Phyllis 4466 , go to Michaels and use a coupon. I think I paid around $55/60.00 for my Big Kick- it's the same machine as a Big Shot. (They're called different names, depending on what type of store you purchase them. ) 🙂
Becka Mac Thanks Becka. Michael's is less than 1 mile from my house. I'll see if I can pull up an on line coupon and head over there tomorrow. Fingers crossed :-)
Hi Phyllis, I get pickles in my containers LOL! I originally got my BigShot at Joann fabrics and was able to use a 40% off coupon. I believe I ordered it on- line. I've had mine for 7-8 years. I don't think I have ever heard of a wax melter used in needle felting. Sounds intriguing!
stitchesbyjulia Hi Julia, if you look up Sarafina fiber art you'll see how she uses special melted wax, or Swax when forming an armature for a felted character or critter. I made a Fox and a squirrel using her on line tutorials. Her shop sells a coated wire that helps the roving grip the initial wrap, and melted wax can also be used in coating animals noses, horns, hooves, gorilla faces and chests etc. She sells kits for all these things and then shows you how to make them on line. Tricky but I love any kind of felting.
what sewing machine do you recommend for someone who just wants to create with jeans and other fabrics that doesnt want to make a business but for making beautiful and memorable things for their family. I am a beginner but I used to sew basic things when I was a child.
Hi, I really like my Juki sewing machine. It feeds fabric great and the stitches are smooth. Here is an example of one but they have machines in other price ranges. amzn.to/2z3AyBL
Hi Marian, I agree about the little easy projects. I do not like unfinished things laying around. I believe you left a comment on a video last week about a couple of RUclipsr you enjoy watching. I can't seem to find that comment again. I too watch Mike Deacon and love his art! But I can't remember the other one you mentioned. What was her name again? Thanks, Julia

I just spent the last few hours copying your vessel. I just love it!
So glad you enjoyed this video and gave it a try. These would make gifts.
Hi Julia, What a fantastic original idea. Never would have thought to put plants in them. Another great idea.
Hi Janet! Thanks so much!

Just bought those buttons. Thanks for the video and the info.
Hi Penni, Enjoy the buttons- I use them on lots of crafts.

Am curious - would those die cuts work on a Accu-cut machine? I have an Accu-cut. Thanks for all the creative ideas - love your videos.
I don't think the Sizzix dies work on the Accu-cut. However, I believe the Accu-cut has similar dies. Thanks for watching, Julia
@@stitchesbyjulia Never cut fabric with my Accu-cut before.. maybe i will try! LOL
Nice tutorial !!
Great tutorial. I like little projects. I have a better chance of finishing them.

Love all your ideas! Thank you
Fun!!
The lace on your flower is actually tatted, not embroidered. I love when people use tatted lace in their designs.
